Yes, that's right. I haven't seen a car with just the lap belt for a passenger in a very long time.

Honda elevate unfortunately doesn't seem to have a 3 point seat belt for the 2nd row middle seat.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Got the Toyota Innova Hycross in Sparkling Black Pearl Crystal Shine (quite a mouthful name for a paint color) yesterday. As always, we preferred a low key delivery.

Only the following accessories were added -

1) Front and rear under run
2) Welcome door lamps (logo lights)

Ordered the GFX 3D mats and door sills online and they are yet to be delivered.

I wanted the roof rails to be added but the accessory department said they don't install on the drip molding (rubber strip), because it comes off unless its on metal roof. So I skipped.

Also wanted the wireless charger, but they said it has several complaints and discouraged me from getting it.

All said and done it was around 38 lakhs in Kerala!! Kind of ridiculous for a cheaply made MUV for developing markets with interiors that belong in an economy rental box, but that's where we are today in terms of vehicle prices and taxes.

True! When we booked the car in March, the OTR was ₹32.6L IIRC and post booking, the price got increased by ₹54k (one was in May and another one was in this month).

Later saw the price and its ₹33.4L with inclusive of accessories worth ₹60k, smiles package and EW for 5 years.

Congratulations on the new car!

I wondered what was the reason behind installing the roof rail on the metal and not on the rubber strip.

The after market roof rail I had installed was light weight and is just for cosmetic purpose. Hope it sticks on for long.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

The factory fitted front speakers in dashboard in VX are normal speakers or tweeters ?

And if speakers are upgraded with complements where are the tweeters placed ??

Yep, I ended up paying 38.5L in Kerala despite me booking on the first day and a bunch of people already getting their cars for 36L before me.

Congratulations Inwester in your new ride.

Incidentally, I did PDI of Hycross ZX(O) in Sparkling Black yesterday. Didn't knew it has a long name.

My original booking was for Blackish Aegha, but SA asked me in early July if I'm ok with this colour. After PDI, i'm happy to go ahead with this July manufactured car, that arrived at the dealership day before yesterday. Will post the delivery experience soon.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Took the delivery of our Innova Hycross VX Hybrid today and got the Puja done as soon as we came out from the dealership.

Also, the odo was 7 Kms during delivery and did just 20 Kms post delivery.

Will be posting the initial impressions soon.

Thank you! They said the factory instructions were to install on the metal and it'll come off eventually if stuck on to the drip molding (rubber strip). I'm going to do the same as you and take a risk with a cheap and light aftermarket one.

Thanks and likewise, my booking was for Attitude Black but it wasn't coming and first we rejected a delivery in April for Sparkling Black and then just gave in the second time in July when offered the same again. Also they couldn't get us a ZX(O), so we settled for ZX as well.

I have one more booking for Blackish Ageha ZX(O), booked November but no word on that yet.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

My observations after driving our Hycross for 120 Kms a while ago:

1. The engine is dead silent that no one knows whether the engine has been switched on or not. After using this, our Honda City Diesel felt coarse

2. The car has been gaining some attention in our gated community as ours is the first Hycross in our gated community in the sea of Crystas, Fortuners, Thars, Cretas, Seltos and to some extent, XUV700 and a guy in our gated community had asked whether this is XUV700 or not as he felt Hycross similar to it and the same guy himself owns Crysta 2.4Z

3. Ingress and egress in this car is quite easy and my folks loved the comfort it offers

4. Speakers are below average and deserves an upgrade

5. HU is bit laggy and Apple CarPlay gets disconnected sometimes on its own and needs to be connected through regular USB cable. Maybe, a software upgrade by ASC would help in improving the lag

6. MID showed 4.6l/100 Km after driving for 120 Kms and the overall mileage it showed is 21.7 Kmpl

7. Seats are quite comfortable though seat covers are needed to be installed, which will be done soon and front seats felt like as if I'm sitting in a Fortuner and felt better than Crysta and previous Innova

8. Ride quality is superb even and the tyres were on 33 psi

9. Steering is super light and lighter than the likes of Crysta, Fortuner and previous Innova, which we used to own and even lighter than our 2014 Honda City iDTEC

10. MID felt bit confusing to use though it'll take time to get used to it

11. Doors are quite heavy that we had to shut the doors again even after not getting shut and impressed with the build quality it offered

12. Headlight throw is bit ok despite having LED lights and needs improvement in this regard. Any solutions for this?

Oh yes, this is our 4th Toyota (had owned Qualis previously and couple of Innovas, which were of 2005 and 2011 ones), and also, this is our first AT (Hybrids are anyway AT by default)

The present odo in 2 days of ownership is 229 Kms.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Hello folks,

Some help needed. I've finally been offered a ZXO which I booked in Nov 2022. Have questions on insurance and accessories?

1) is there any advantage in taking insurance from Toyota? As far as I can see, there does not seem to be. Has anyone faced issues with non Toyota insurance?

2) what prices generally should one expect to pay for ceramic coating? they have offered it for 29,500 for initial application and two top ups

3) what is the LMC coating that the dealership is suggesting?

4) Does it make sense to install the Toyota dash cam or go for after market ones like 70mai, etc? the aftermarket ones seem a lot more feature rich

5) any opinion on the attached accessory list?
