For the Hybrid, there is simply no competition, it will offer the quintessential Innova experience and ensure good resale due to the powertrain. The 2.0L Non-hybrid AT looks well-priced at 23L OTR on first look but XUV will be the better proposition with side airbags & economical diesel powertrain at the same price.

We FINALLY know the prices for the Toyota Innova HyCross. Attachment 2395619
Here's the variant-wise break up: Petrol
G (7S): ₹18.30 lakh
G (8S): ₹18.35 lakh
GX (7S): ₹19.15 lakh
GX (8S): ₹19.20 lakh Hybrid
VX (7S): ₹24.01 lakh
VX (8S): ₹24.06 lakh
ZX: ₹28.33 lakh
ZX (O): ₹28.97 lakh Roughly translates to On-Road prices between 22 to 35 Lakhs :thumbs up |
The ZX(O) Hybrid on-road price in Bangalore will cost approx 36L which is 6.9Lacs more than the XUV700 petrol top end and 6Lacs for the Diesel top end that means the battle is getting closure between XUV and Innova Hycross, if Mahindra introduces a hybrid version of XUV700 with petrol and Diesel engine, i am sure it will cost almost as same as Toyota Innova hybrid or at least the price different will be marginal.
Nice pricing indeed.
Now Hybrid cars have started receiving subsidy in a few states as well. That shall bring down the prices even further.
Here is a quick price reference with respect to the Innova Crysta price hike in October 2022. With Crysta as a benchmark, Hycross appears to be good value.
Hycross vs Old diesel Crysta
Hycross vs Old petrol Crysta
That's some excellent and Sane pricing from Toyota which is really surprising. I was thinking of replacing my harrier with a 7/8 seater and the pricing of this car is the only barrier stopping me to date. After seeing these prices, it will be very difficult to resist this purchase.

Thanks for this. Fantastic pricing. Being a Toyota, hoping reliability of these hybrids power trains is at par with diesel/petrol. I can imagine the mad rush for booking and painful wait times now. Toyota has a winner on their hands. clap:
good one! I am reading the review once again! do we have the petrol drive report and how much milage one can expect on the non-hybrid petrol variant, driving suburban Mumbai limits.

Thoughts on pricing.
I am not conversant with car manufacturing economics but as a consumer I differentiate the Hycross from the Crysta - bigpicture - in terms of
1. Sunroof
2. Ottoman seats
3. Some creature comforts (ventilated seats, sunshades, better ICE system, electric seat recline, electric boot closing etc)
4. Hybrid system
From a consumer 'value' standpoint, I would put a slight premium on the hybrid technology vs the diesel given its more fuel efficient than the diesel Crysta. The features would add upto another 2 lacs or so.
On the flip side, the Crysta is likely more rugged with less long term part replacement (incl. battery) and servicing costs than the Hycross. With the above in mind, I really wouldnt want to see Toyota pricing the Hycross ZX variant more than 2 to 3 lacs or so (ex-showroom) above an equivalent (i.e. automatic version) Crysta diesel model (Not comparing to petrol model since hybrid FE is more comparable to diesel). ADAS could add another 1.5 lacs for the ZX(O) variant
Crysta retails at about 26.5 ex-showroom for the top diesel - Expecting Hycross ZX pricing in the 29-30 or so ex-showroom range and ZX(O) around 31-32. |
So Toyota has got the pricing right :Cheering:- leaving absolutely nothing to complain on that front. In fact, the 60-odd thousand being charged by ZX(O) over ZX for all the safety features (e.g. adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitor, lane assist etc) is a huge pleasant surprise.
The premium of approx 2 lakhs over equivalent top-end old Crysta is a really good deal - for sunroof, significantly better FE, creature comforts, safety features - plus the aspect of adopting a greener, newer (yet proven) technology. One loses out on that strong diesel torque and rugged go-anywhere nature of the Crysta. But overall for the urban family commuter, this becomes a great choice
Fantastic pricing. Everyone expected the ZX(O) to top out around 32-33 lakhs ex-showroom. Keeping it under 29 lakhs is a sweet surprise from Toyota. For the amount of equipment and features, I feel the price is justified. Also the premium on the ZX(O) over the ZX is just 66K for all the ADAS features! I think Toyota want more people to experience these features.
Even though pricing is well within the expected range, I'm not able find the hybrid variants pricing sensible now considering the lower prices for the announced non-hybrid AT variants. The pricing cleanly bridges the gap between Hyryder and Fortuner !

I already stated, I am not a fan of bling features and more impressed with solid mechanicals. If the monocoque, FWD, torsion beam suspension design changes can prove the worth and go anywhere reliability like Crysta, I am ready to change my opinion. |
So is there any buyer's remorse @Poloman!:coldsweat
Jokes aside, Fantastic pricing! Toyota has hit it out of the park with this one!
Interesting… Toyota understands that the new KIA Carnival coming in 2023, is going to be a strong competition for Innova Hycross.
If Hyundai brings its Staria then 2023-24 will witness a good fight between these 3 premium MUVs.
Reasonable pricing, indeed!
But, as per the Toyota pricing policy, this 18-29 L range may easily skyrocket to 28-39 L or more in a couple of years. Remember how Innova Crysta which was priced just at 13-20 L during the time of launch, easily reached the 18-27 range in a very short period.
I am afraid if those who are at the end of the waiting queue will be able to own this dream car without seeing multiple price hikes!
Pricing is as good as it get's by Toyota standards, that said one can have an Alcazar diesel for Rs 25 L OTR top end automatic, with most bells and whistles except ADAS, it has a great interior and comes with 6 and 7 seater option in the top end variant as well.
Very impressive pricing. Are these introductory? Will we finally be seeing mainstreaming of Hybrids?
