Having owned Crysta for close to 2 years, can vouch for this. Not a single issue or niggle or squeak so far. I believe, exactly this is for what we are paying a premium for Toyota cars.

When some of us raised concerns of cost cutting in Hycross, it was termed as out of jealousy

It is very clear that Toyota cut cost mainly in interiors to make up for additional tech cost. Hope the issues and niggles settle over a period of time.

+1 for GFX mats. I find them better quality than the OEM ones.

Sorry, I wasn't able to locate the issue you are facing.
And yes, they were able to address the issue.
The hinges were tightened and greased and I am not hearing this noise anymore.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Coming from the Crysta I got the same feeling that many of our members got when sitting in the Hycross for the first time that it seemed low quality and cheap. We stepped into the car, spent a few minutes and just walked out. Got a very Mobilio kind of vibe.

And I am sure no one cares, either the dealership or Toyota since they got a 1 year waiting period. Toyota's poor pre-sales continues just like it was when I got my Crysta 3 years back.

But while going back we discussed how Toyota maybe going the Honda way and how Hyundai is taking up Toyota's place. The market is a great equaliser. It never tolerates arrogance and over confidence.

Did you order this online? If yes from which site?

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

It is getting to be 10 months of stress free ownership now with my ZX(O) with nearly 8k completed and not a single niggle on the mechanical side of the car. But the ICE has some issues.

I have an iPhone and an Android. The wireless Carplay connectivity is not a problem though I have experienced drops in connect. It does connect back on restart. My wired Android connectivity has never worked. Maybe it is because Carplay is connected wirelessly by default and it does not take the wired Android auto connect request once Carplay is connected. Not sure.

Do any of you have this issue with Airplay not playing Spotify lately. The UI of the Unit shows as if tracks are playing but there is no sound output. I have no problems with Maps or phone call connectivity. Will it need a firmware update? or is it me missing some setting change?

Any help will be useful

I got them from caplus.in for our hycross that we picked up about 3 weeks back.

Here is the link: https://www.carplus.in/collections/i...innova-hycross

Additionally, is it possible to turn off the 360 degree camera from coming on on its own in bumper to bumper traffic?

I can attest to the headlights being an issue, with an inadequate throw. Have not faced the other issues. Not sure of the number of issues vis-a-vis cars produced, as well as impact/ intensity of the issues, so cannot comment.

Not as plush and premium as the Corolla (my comparison) but the Hycross ZXO is not too bad. We usually end up trying the test drive vehicle and form a very negative opinion. Personal vehicles are different.

Yes, I do miss the scruff plates, I do miss the similar sized alloy on the 5th wheel, I do miss the softer finish on some of the surfaces, but these do not bother me on my day to day. The more we compare with others, we will find some or the other feature missing. The vehicle is comfortable enough, premium enough, feature rich enough(subjective) and works (so far at-least).

Therefore, I would say, stay with your booking and review again.

Yeah, ordered online. You can Google it, I could see it's available on zapcart, carhatke, carplus websites.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Hi,
Sad to see these many issues in Toyota.

4.Fuel Gauge rushes to the F mark when the car is parked on an incline.

I think this is not an issue in Hycross alone. All the cars will show the gauge value different, if its parked incline or vice versa.
Correct me if i am wrong.

I hear you man. Having taken delivery of my Innova almost a decade back from the same dealership, things have drastically changed. They are least bothered to attend you, let alone assign a SA as if they are the ones doing us favour selling their product. The dealership attitude really needs to change for good and they can’t always get away just because of the reliability and waiting period image.

Hey guys, an unexpected update on this. I received a call from the dealership informing me that Toyota had been looking at my brake pad and asked them to replace the brake disc as well. They have the parts ready and I just have to drop by whenever I'm free. Not really enthused at having to drive all the way back again but a free brake disc is a free brake disc.

I also got a whatsapp message about some new accessories.

The hood struts seem promising so I might get them too.

On an unrelated note: Recently discovered that the pre-collision system doesn't just do warnings but can also brake. Was having lunch with a couple of friends and decided to drive to another location nearby. A Swift in front decided it was going to identify as a Lamborghini today and braked to almost a complete stop to go over a little pothole. There was the usual pre-collision alert, which I ignored since I thought the swift would speed away.

It did not speed away. Hycross slammed on it brakes automatically, surprising me. I turn to face my friend who is leaning over the center armrest and complaining. I am going "oh wow, I didn't do that, the car did it itself"

I pause for a second and remember: "wait a minute weren't you sitting in the third row? How did you end up here"

So yeah, always wear your seatbelts even the last row, even if you are travelling just a short distance in the city.

My first experience with auto-braking cars was while driving a 2014 Volvo S60. That used to kick in almost all the time in Indian traffic and could be annoying. 10 years later, the tech has matured and this implementation feels substantially better. It speaks of how non-intrusive it is that this is first time I saw it.

Wow! Quite substantial updates these are:

Do we really have solutions from Toyota themselves on lighting? Do we know how powerful these are?
The electric sidestep looks really interesting but really expensive as well.

I am surprised at the auto-braking- I do know we get a warning on the dashboard but was not aware that auto-braking exists!!

Please add some more detail if you do get some more information on the accessories.

All these accessories are Third party accessories that the dealership is selling and not Toyota Genuine Accessories (TGA).

Nonetheless some interesting accessories, like the Electric Tailgate, I wonder how will they add it…

I inadvertently wrote INR 70,000 for the PPF application. That was for a different quality PPF. For this one the cost was about INR 90,000.

I just realized my error and have requested mods to alter the post accordingly.

Sorry if i misled any of my fellow Bhpians.
