Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Has anyone renewed their Hycross insurance? I had taken the icici insurance from the showroom itself and while I was pretty much forced to take it, now that it is renewal time I want to consider all options and pick the best. Any suggestions or if anyone has done renewal, which one they picked and what that insurer offered along with addons etc

GX(O) should be worth waiting for, if you’re going for the Petrol HyCross.

Got below information from my dealership, price is not yet announced but I am sure this GX(O) will still undercut current VX by 3-4 lakhs easily Toyota Innova Hycross Review-img_0277.jpg

I am currently thinking about VX and surprised to see that a lower variant GX(O) has better kit (fog lamps, 10.1 infotainment) so I wonder if toyota will normalise the same on VX as well and perhaps stop the VX(O) completely.

Only USP of hybrid is the mileage but with 3-4 lakh difference, someone with low running can happily purchase petrol for next 5-6 years

For Petrol buyers who wanted more features akin to the VX trim, this GX(O) is the VX Hybrid equivalent only difference being it’s available with the petrol engine.

Toyota may not be wanting to offer both a petrol and hybrid powertrain under one variant (VX), hence the GX(O).

Although what’s the logic behind the 7 seater getting better/more features than the 8 seater. Makes absolutely no sense if Toyota actually does this ! Eg: Sunshades only on the 7 seater, 10.1 inch on the 7 seater variant vs 8 inch on the 8 seater version.
8 seater GX(O) should be named GX(O) - (Minus)

Oh no ! My GX is in transit according to the dealer and will be here in 2 days. After seeing this, I find it very compelling to wait and upgrade to GX(O) instead. It seems to have everything I needed and will save some money since our running will be in around 15k per year. Wondering what to do ?

Hey @sandip_sm, curious when you made the VX(O) 8S booking since I’m also waiting on one in Bangalore.

Just checked out Stanley and Ovion online. Stanley finishes definitely looks a notch above from random pics on instagram and google. Hope you find what you’re looking for. Will follow your updates.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

The car completed one year and so far no issues.

Insurance was renewed for 24,400 with Royal Sundaram.

10k service costed less than 3k.

I also bought GFX mats from zapkart.in. They shipped through Amazon. The mat is made of hard plastic. I would have preferred a softer material as hard plastic may damage the car while taking it out or putting it back. Otherwise it is fine and it snug fits everywhere.
One more issue is that it leaves a small gap near the battery where dirt and soil can easily accumulate. For now, I am keeping the old mat as well in the middle row. You can see the old mat in the picture.

I booked this in March 2023, so it has been an 11 month wait.

The car looks great and PPF is absolutely great from maintenance perspective. But do remember, PPF comes with its own cons. After about 5years, it could turn out to be a headache. I had installed PPF on major areas of my WRV 7 years ago and then, after about 5 years, it became sticky and the PPF area started to attract more dust and looked dull.So I planned to remove them. The horror story started there! I had to repaint the rear fenders and finally escalated the matter to 3M India country head. After his intervention, I was askes to take the car to the same 3M facility and from where I got it installed and they removed it in about 2 weeks time! You may read more on the PPF horror stories here.
https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/modif...ml#post5440837 (Horrible experience with 3M PPF | Completely deteriorated & hard to remove)

The tech might have improved today but the assurance from these car spas are not to be trusted 100%

You can just tell them you want to upgrade to the GX(O) instead. Only ZX and ZX(O) have long waiting periods so you don't have to worry about the queue or such.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Did anyone get 20k Kms service done on their Hycross Hybrid?

Asking because our Hycross VX Hybrid (bought in July 2023) is due for 20k Kms service (19,600 Kms done as of today) this week or next week mostly.

And, what do they work during the 20k Kms service?

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Hello. I had a query regarding the mileage of the Hycross. I have ZX variant and about 10500 kms used in 6 months. My onboard trip meter shows between 12-13 kmpl and also tank full to tank full I get bout the same mileage. Even when the battery is 3-4th full it is a touch and go with the car being driven in EV mode only. Slight nudges on the accelerator gets it off instantly. The car is mostly driver driven but even when I drive I try to find it hard to drive in EV only. Very soft touches on the accelerator feels the vehicle moving too slowly even from zero.
I've tried accelerating normally from a red light and then when it gains speed let go the accelerator and tap it again to get it into EV but that too eventually makes it slow down or gets it off the EV mode. 80-90% of the driving is in city only and yet I get such dismal figures. When I bought it I presumed it will drive in the ev mode only as long as the battery is charged but now it seems one has to be focussed on it to use the battery power and normal driving invariably kicks it off.

Am I or is my driver doing something wrong? Is there a way to rectify it or drive it in a different style? Any input will surely be helpful.

Curious, how is the insurance premium so low for the new car ? I am getting quotes by dealership for new car insurance 1-1.2 lakhs and even if they match the online quotes, it will still be like a lakh. Definitely would love to hear how I can bring the premium down like this ?

Are you always driving in Sports mode? In City with both Eco and Normal I get 17-20kmpl as long as I cover 20kms (daily one way commute) in less than an hour. On highways it has been mostly in the 15-16kmpl range.
