Is there a list of hidden features (similar to windows being opened via the the key) that someone can share please?
Not possible. As far as I can tell, the whole headlight unit is sealed and even if a single bulb burns out, you have to change the entire unit.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Hello fellow HyCross owners, 3 4 months ago, the toyota connect app used to show me continous live location of the car if the car was on move, since last 2 3 months it only shows the location of the car after it has been parked and turned off. Basically shows only the last location after it has reached the destination. Has toyota shut the feature of continous live tracking? Or is it only with my app/car?

I used to be able to see the tyre pressure on the app. But now I am not able to see that. Has Toyota downgraded the app in terms of features?

That would be the costliest bulb change ever! I hope this is not true.

Randomly came across a video on instagram showing modified headlights for the Hycross. I have seen similar fitments being done in South East Asian youtube channels for the Innova "Zenix".

You could give it a try. Note: I am not affiliated with these people nor do I know about their reliability nor if it will void your warranty so proceed at your own risk.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Have been using our Hycross since couple of weeks and did a trip of 2000+ Kms (2117 Kms) to Kerala with my cousin and a couple of friends this weekend and came back home a while ago.

When I started using the car, the odo was at 28k Kms and today, the odo is close to 32k Kms in 10 months of ownership (31,878 Kms to be precise). Started this trip when the odo was at 29,759 Kms.

Looking forward to do more trips before I move back to USA in August.

Also, will be getting the car serviced today at Mody Toyota since it has run more than 30k Kms on the odo.

And, a detailed ownership review on this car will be posted soon.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Would it be a problem if i sent my Hybrid Innova Hycross for service 15 days late (1 year + 0.5months), coincidently it will cross 10k by 1k kms too due to a roadtrip. I have a two year service pack but wonder if there is any impact since i would rather send the car post the 1k kms outstation drive. Any thoughts?

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

My two-month-old Hycross has faced a battery drain issues twice now. The first time it happened was when the car was just a week old, service centre folks said it was due to car being driven at low speed. Which lead to car running mostly in EV mode and engine not being used enough. I felt it was a stupid argument but since I was travelling and my father was dealing with the service folks, I didn't debate much.

This morning, the car didn't start again. Has anyone else faced this issue? Any idea why this would be happening?

Which battery are you referring to the main hybrid battery or the 12V battery, did you get some errors in the mid regarding the low battery or any other faults?

The first time, the car didn't start (I don't know the details since Dad faced the issue). I think it was a 12v battery, since Toyota folk connected another battery to the 12v battery and started the car. My dad drove the car for a few km to charge the battery, and everything was fine.

This time again, I suspect it is a 12v battery. Here is the sequence of events that happened this time...

We used the car on 1st of June evening and parked it. 3rd June (today) morning when I got into the car, It showed the error-"key not not detected". So I got both the keys, but still the same error. Then I kept one key near the gear lever, another next to the steering column thinking proximity sensor will detect it. Till then, the instrument cluster was on, ..... but in a few seconds, the car just died. Everything stopped working.

Again toyota folks came, used the battery and started the car. They have taken it with them to the service centre. What they are saying is

1) There could be some sort of "leakage" from 12V battery which leads to drainage from it
2) Hybrid battery kicks in to charge the 12V battery draining it
3) Because of low overall usage that too at low speeds, hybrid battery doesn't get charged enough...leading to both batteries being dead.

I am not sure if this is true or even possible. This is what the guy who picked up the car said or at least what I think he said. Will be visiting the service centre tomorrow to understand more.

What is funny in the entire episode is that just last week, I was facing issues with my 10-month-old Kodiaq regarding its rain-sensing vipers. As usual service centre folks had no clue as to what was wrong. My father was on to me about disregarding his advice and buying a Kodiaq instead of a Fortuner. Now I have both the vehicles in the service centre with no clue as to what is happening to either of them

I have a 6-week old HyCross VX that's not been driven much (1300 KM to date). I'm the only driver thus far, and I drive a low speeds (largely below 80 KMPH). Most of the time, the hybrid battery is charged up to 3 bars, very seldom up to 6 bars and never beyond. My mileage ranges from 19 to 27 KMPL, implying the hybrid battery gets used often. I've never faced a dead-battery situation thus far.

Do you have a dashcam running with parking mode enabled? Perhaps that could leech the charge beyond the low-voltage levels.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Recently I have been noticing the back passenger seat belt alarms functioning inconsistently. Some times it will correctly display the back passenger has not worn the seat belts and the alarms go off but many a times recently it will never detect anyone seated and will show no signs.

Has anyone noticed any such issues with their car.
