Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Looks like Toyota has introduced new accessories, and door trims for Vx and the below models, strangely these accessories are not available for Vx(o), ZX, and Zx(o) as per what is shown through the Configurator.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

My Hycross has completed its first year and has just returned from its 10,000 km service. Looking back, I am very happy with my purchase.

Service Summary:
  1. General inspection at 10,000 km.
  2. Synthetic oil change (5 liters), including gasket and filter replacement.
  3. Refill of windshield washer fluid.
  4. Wheel balancing, alignment, and rotation.
  5. Application of silencer coating.

First 3 items are FOC under the AMC package. The total bill, inclusive of GST, was 6k. The service was completed efficiently within 3 hours, and I am pleased with the professionalism of Nandi Toyota, Kanakapura Road, Bangalore.

What I Like about Hycross:
  • The cabin is exceptionally quiet, especially within city limits.
  • It's easy to maneuver and drive.
  • My family of four loves the spacious and airy cabin.
  • Good fuel efficiency.

Things that can be better:
  • The headlights have poor light throw, causing visibility issues in rainy conditions.
  • There's no proper space for cellphone; it often ends up in the cup holder. Additionally, there is no sunglass holder.
  • The infotainment system has low resolution, and the steering buttons are not intuitive.

You can negotiate on the insurance amount or even take it on your own, if you have reliable insurance agents in the know.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Crysta to Hycross

Hello Guys,

I need your input for future car upgrade. I currently own Innova Crysta 2016 ZX AT (1,25,000kms as on ) and Jimny AT. Annual driving of Crysta is 10-12k kms. Going forward it’s going to be lesser as we tend to take out Jimny more often than Innova. As the car has completed 8 years I’m thinking of replacing it once she completes 9 years for a better re sale value.

My Non Negotiable Requirements.

8 Seater (Middle row bench required) as we are a family of 5 plus a toddler.
6 air bags
TCS

My query is that is it worth going for hybrid model ? Will that 5 lac difference justify ?

Thanks.

With Jimny AT and just 15k km annual drive, 5L difference in cost doesn't justify. Suggest 3 options in AT, go for :
  1. Carens Luxury Plus 1.5 Turbo Petrol DCT 7 Seater costing around onroad price of 20L, facelift version can be seen around next year (Kia Carens facelift spied testing in South Korea) (or)
  2. XL6 Alpha Plus AT variant at the cost around 17L, great fuel efficiency but lesser torque and features Vs Carens
  3. XUV700 AX7 AT variant at the cost around 25L, great road presence but poor fuel efficiency

Carens is on my mind but coming from Innova and Toyota (Crysta is my 3rd Innova in my family) it’s little hard to let go that package. Thanks for your inputs. Its wait and watch for me now.

Ok then you are in the common league where loyalty to the brand and the Innova being considered one among the family member, economics doesn't apply. In that case, you shall simply go ahead with Hycross before any further price hike

My dilemma right now is if I should go ahead with petrol or hybrid keeping in mind the running and long term owner ship.

Wow that’s some effort. Thanks a lot for the data. It clearly shows that if your running is high then hybrid is the way to go. For me it looks like my running is going to be 10k kms per year now. So GX O makes sense.

Before taking a final call, do have a look at this thread too for more detailed discussion, if you haven’t already. It brings the pros and cons of both Hycross options and beyond mere “annual mileage” considerations.

This thread helps. I’m still a long way before I take a call. I at least have a year in my hand. My Crysta’s last one year running was around 9k kms thanks to Jimny. So keeping that in mind I’m inclined for GX O

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Noticed a trend on my Hycross Vx which has done some 24,000 Kms in 9 months of ownership, the fuel economy which use to hang around 17.XX dropped to 15.00 KMPL in the peak months of summer, with the temperature now falling due to the monsoon season it has gone back up to 17.XX the AC usage is still the same being set at 22 on auto mode.
How much of this change can be attributed to the change in temperature both in the AC now finding it easy to cool the cabin more easily and is the battery also being helped with the lower temperature as I’m seeing the EV mode kicking in more frequently.
