Hey, apologise for the late reply. Yes, I have got the car fixed. They had the parts ordered for another Hycross but the owner didn't turn up in time for the repairs and the parts were used to repair my car since I had escalated the issue till the senior management. They initially changed the driveshaft for one side, but this did not solve the issue. Then they made the changes on the other side which ultimately solved the issue.

Since then the car is running absolutely fine by god's grace.

Hope this helps.

And, did the ASC mention the timeline for the arrival of the parts?

Even I'm willing to get this part replaced as the sound became irritating to say the least but, somehow, this became not much of an issue for us, at least for now.

On the other hand, car has completed 36k Kms on the odo and will complete 1 year of ownership this weekend.
I am dealing with Lakozy Toyota Malad. Have been using their services since a while now and know the management pretty well. Had escalated the issue to the senior management and got the car repaired. They had another car waiting for the same parts but the customer did not confirm in time so the parts got transferred to my car otherwise there was no ETA on the parts arrival.

Did you pay anything for it considering that it costs around Rs.40-45k or is the part covered under the warranty?

Need to inform my folks regarding this as I'm not in the country now to get it done at the ASC.

Since our car is due for 40k Kms service soon, will tell my chauffeur to get it done along with service.

You need to go and get it checked by the service technician. If it is an axle issue they will order the part for you. And then you wait for the part to arrive. I have been told that it is fine to drive the car so I’m continuing to use it.

I suppose it should be covered under warranty.

Even I was told the same by the technician but bit skeptical on whether it is covered by warranty or not.

Sorry, I don't have the permission to reply to your PM yet. gladiatort1000's post below has all the info. To answer your question from the PM, it is possible to physically adjust the angle of the lens on the front dashcam by hand without moving the entire unit. No, I haven't upgraded from the bundled 32GB card.

The bundled SD card is Industrial grade SD card which can work in harsher conditions. These are much more expensive than typical consumer grade SD cards. Keep this in mind while trying to upgrade it.

No need to replace the other key as well. You can order a replacement key and the dealership will code both the keys. The lost key will not be useable anymore after this. If you are claiming insurance for this, it'll require leaving the car at the dealer until the process is completed. If paying out of pocket, it's quick. Costs around 20k.

The skeleton key from the old keyfob may still be able to open the car, but won't be able to start it. The only way to get around this is to change all the locks and both keys. The cost will be approximately 70k for that.

I didn't understand this point "To ensure Parking Mode Recording, prevent vehicle 12-volt battery discharge" in Page4 - Do they mention that battery change of min. 12V is required for [parking mode recording?

The correct sentence should be "If battery voltage drops below 12v, Parking Mode Recording will not work to save battery. Ensure that battery is at 12v or above for Parking Mode Recording to work".

This type of cutoff is there in DVRs, Ultrasonic rat repellent devices etc. that depend on the car battery.

Got a confirmation from the service advisor that the post is covered under warranty

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Hi all.

Just picked up a Hycross ZX(O) and am not satisfied with the audio quality. Will be thankful to know of any upgrades done by any members here. Sorry was not able to find any post related to this. Hence asking.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Hi. I am still working on it. Either I will be going for Front Active setup and rear passive or total 12 channel active setup.

I didn’t pay anything to get it replaced, all covered under warranty thankfully

I too was told that it’s safe to use the car till the parts arrive but honestly the sound had become so loud and frequent it was better left at the service centre. I also didn’t want to give them any ammunition to deny the claim later as they had not given anything to me in writing.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Hi everyone!

I am on the cusp of buying a new car after parting ways with my 2015 Petrol Toyota Camry. I have been a Toyota user for over 20 years. It started with a Qualis, onto the first generation Innova, then to a Corolla Altis and Finally ended up with a 2015 Toyota Camry.

We need to fill the void which the Camry has left. Hence the need of this post to get the best possible insights in the Indian Car fraternity.

I really like the Innova Hycross, for all its pros and cons. My biggest motivator for this choice is of course the strong hybrid technology, as I agree with the section on this forum that believes that Hybrids are the most realistic solution to solving the carbon emission problem.

On the flip side, I am also contemplating buying a used Camry Hybrid, 2017-2018 model year.

My concern with those cars is the reliability of the battery. I remember reading GTO's experience of helping his NRI friends buy a used Camry Hybrid, and have been pondering over that idea since.

Please help me solve this dilemma!

The thought going through my head are as follows:

With the hycross:

a. Is the product worth 35 lakhs? (I live in Jaipur and that’s how much the ZX(O) will cost there)
b. If invested in this, I will have a car which can easily last 10 years before I have to think about buying another people mover.

With the Used Camry Hybrid:
a. The reliability of the hybrid battery, given that the cars I am looking at are 7-8 years old and the battery is definitely out of warranty.
b. The sheer value for money I will get for 16 odd lakhs spent on a Camry hybrid is phenomenal. MASSIVE out right savings over a new car. (Disclaimer: I am biased towards buying used cars as they are phenomenal value for money)
c. The reliability of Used car agents in Mumbai, where I am looking at used cars because there are none available in Jaipur and the ones in Delhi are too expensive and the reliability factor of used car agents is applicable with them too.

P.S. Mods, please help me find the best place for this thread, since Hycross was my choice I decided to post it here.
