2. Ask them to exclude Accessories Kit and TGloss -- that's pure fluff [You can get the accessories done from outside at a much cheaper rate with same or better quality]
As for TGloss it is their in-house version of ceramic coating. According to me both ppf and ceramic coating are not needed for a new car [but that's a discussion for another day]. However if you do want to go for either of it, better to get it done from any reputed detailer externally
Test Drive of Innova Hycross : My observations

Finally had a chance to take the TD of Innova Hycross today. Loved the drive.
  1. The cabin is silent, road noise is minimal.
  2. Experience ADAS for the first time and it worked as expected on well marked lanes.
  3. ADAS can also be helpful in stop-n-go traffic. ADAS can come to a complete stop and resume driving from a standstill once I confirm with a button press on the steering wheel.
  4. The visibility from the driver seat is great all-around.
  5. The 360 degree camera resolution is not the best, but should be manageable I guess.
  6. The ventilated seats made little to no difference. It should be more powerful, or maybe just this TD vehicle has a issue with its ventilated seats.
  7. The car lacks Wireless Android Auto. Not sure if this is a hardware limitation or software one. Could not find this same infotainment in any other Toyota.
  8. I would love to have ambient lighting all around the cabin on the door panels. This would have helped the car feel more premium inside the cabin.

The SA was great. Just the fact that Madhuban Toyota is not ready to negotiate on the Hycross. The SA said that we cannot choose selective accessories nor I can ask them to remove the Accessories Kit and TGloss from the quotation. Also, they are ready to take the booking amount and the downpayment as well on a CC without any extra charges. I might just go ahead and pay the 50K booking amount.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

I encountered a strange problem today with the washer fluid tank in Hycross, Bhpians please correct me if it is normal behaviour or not.
Today while using wipers I realised that the washer fluid tank was empty so I filled it out it took approximately 3 litres, I filled it to the top level, and after some time water started leaking exactly below the water tank tube near the front right wheel, water leaked slowly for around 30 minutes and then stopped, I think maybe around 20 per cent of water may have leaked, I didn’t check the water tank for level but then I used washer wiper and it sprayed perfectly.
Is it that I overfill the tank and it spilt the excess water out or is there a leak in the water tank is this even normal as I don’t remember this happening in any of my other cars?

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

How does the booking and the delivery process work for Hycross? We were told the car is allocated, but the dealer keeps saying that the car is in the factory and yet to be dispatched. We are looking for an approximate timeline so that we can plan some dates for delivery. The dealer doesn't properly indicate the timeline and doesn't answer properly. The dealer is Ravindu Toyota and the outlet is Bellandur.

To check the leak I would fill up water to the brim and wait for a few hours without using the wipers. Any drop on level will confirm leakage in the system. Hope this helps.

Apparently, Hycross supplies have dried out according to my dealer. Is there a new model incoming?

I heard most OEMs stop manufacturing current year cars by around November to ensure that they are not stuck with 2024 MY cars in 2025 which will need to be sold at a discount.

No. In fact, Hycross is available with the lowest waiting period ever as of Oct 24 update in Toyota website.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Hycross might be a good vehicle & I might still consider it but my experience with Espirit Toyota along Bhubaneswar-Cuttack road is probably the worst I have ever had with a car dealership.

To give context, my choice of variant is VX(O) because that meets my space & feature requirements as per my research.

They had a Hycross VX variant on display (which itself is a rare thing). Since this was some customer's vehicle, I checked with the showroom guys if we could take a look at it with family. They agreed.

Visited them within an hour or two with entire family. First nobody comes up to us & we started checking it from outside. Someone said they will get the keys but few minutes later told us the battery of this new car is apparently dead hence the car cannot be shown . I mean atleast be frank that it's a customer's vehicle and they are sorry for not opening it (which I am totally OK with despite they initially agreeing to it).

After the initial setback, the bad experience starts here:

1. A 2nd guy comes up with how petrol engine gives 16 km/L mileage as per manual and why we should look at the pure petrol variant instead. I explained why the real world numbers will never actually be same as ARAI rated 16km/l for a vehicle & engine of this size but the guy was having none of it

2. Bad experience doesn't end there. A 3rd more "knowledgeable" guy comes up and starts justifying the price difference between hybrid & non-hybrid variant. Me having done my research started pointing out lack of my must have features along with many more that cars half the price have. The guy then starts asking how many cars we have, how much kms we have put in them, how many years we intend to keep the vehicle etc etc

At this point you can imagine my frustrations with them. They did not keep their end of agreement to let us see the vehicle (which I am totally OK with because I understand people will NOT be ok with others checking their vehicle). On top of that instead of being apologetic, they tried to influence my choice of variant & started explaining why I should pick something that doesn't meet my basic requirements. The later honestly irked me the most & hence this long rant. Does the pure petrol variant honestly not sell that well?

Also, does the online test drive booking even work? I am trying to get hold of one but seems like dealers don't have any in Bhubaneswar.

I have had bad experience with Toyota dealer in Hyderabad for Hycross. I had registered interest with Harsha Toyota for Hycross GX(O) Petrol AT.

The salesperson called me once only and told that he will try to arrange test drive for GX Petrol AT. After this I have called him multiple times and left messages on WhatsApp, and he does not even bother to call back. There was no call or any message from Toyota whether a test drive was given or not. So, it felt to me that Toyota is not bothered with customer feedback for Hycross test drives.

I eventually dropped my plan for Hycross due to such bad experience and I don't want to put huge booking amount of ₹50k on a car without test drive.

After my experience would have honestly opted for any other company's vehicle. But no vehicle is able to compete with Hycross. Literally enjoying a monopoly at the moment.

Worst part? Nexa doesn't have any variant that meets my expectations.

Curious, what's it that you are missing out on the Maruti Suzuki Invicto vis-a-vis the Innova Hycross ?

In fact, it might offer a few advantages like
  • Smaller rims ==> Abuse friendly, a more comfortable ride and cheaper tyre replacement costs.
  • Lower price
  • Lesser waiting period.

What you are saying is correct. But middle bench seat is a must have for me so Alpha+ automatically goes out & Zeta+ misses out on many critical features.

It’s just one bad dealer you have dealt don’t get something you didn’t want in the first place just because of the bad dealership experience, you are at the end of the day buying a product, and what you are buying matters more than from where you are buying, you will have to deal with the dealership just once but you are stuck with the product for 10-15 years.
Just try different dealerships near you or in nearby states and get what you want.

Harsha Toyota is the most popular and the most arrogant dealer in Hyderabad.
They take the customer for granted. If possible, try to stay away from them and go for an alternate dealer. Even I had bad experiences with them in 2022, while booking and cancelling the Hyryder hybrid.

As a Hycross user, who bought the car from Harsha Toyota itself (LB Nagar) though we had good experience with them during delivery, I'd suggest you have a look at Mody Toyota, which is at Karkhana or Fortune Toyota, Tolichowki though I've no experience with the latter.

I was suggested the same by my dad's friend few days after booking ours and the same person had bought Hycross ZX(O) from Mody Toyota itself after the launch. Through him AFAIK, a couple of my dad's friends bought their Hycross from the same dealer.

Mody guys I guess have NA Petrol AT for TD. Had seen when I went to give our Hycross for service.

Also, one of the reasons why we've stopped giving the car for service at Harsha Toyota is because of the overflow they have and that has got reduced after Mody has setup the shop in Uppal, which is 5 Kms from where we live.
