Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Hi all, does anyone have experience with or have installed Octa Q projector setup for Hycross/Invicto? It seems like it’s a plug & play installation and should theoretically not void warranty. The light throw and intensity are vastly improved compared to the stock setup in YouTube videos.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

So Mahindra launched 2 EVs at a ground breaking price last week. Interestingly this morning, after months of painstaking follow ups, I got the much awaited call from my Toyota dealer that my ZX(O) HyCross is available for delivery. Must be a coincidence

Lucky you! So are you taking the delivery this month or the next year?

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Hello Together!

I would like to thank each one of them who have posted in this thread as I've used your valuable feedback and reviews which have helped me make my decisions to buy one!

Last week(Finally!!), I've taken the delivery of Innova Hycross VX(O) after years of dreaming, months of planning and weeks of waiting!

Priority was to get a 8 seater. (As I already own a comfortable 5seater, next one I buy should be a +3 seater to make an impact). Practically, a 8seater could still be a 7seater for long distance as the 3rd row may not be made for 3adults. And if I get a 7 seater with captain seats, then practically it is a 6 comfortable seater and is not making a big change to my existing 5 seater plus I loose boot space (from 510L in Honda city). Hence 8 seater (on paper) was a must!

Fast forward
- Booked the car in June 2024.
- Car allocated in September/October 2024 and I let it pass as the process was not clear (I will tell you why in my next paragraph).
- Took the delivery of the car in Nov 2024.

I booked the car on the Toyota India's Online platform Tweb (https://tweb.toyotabharat.com/) - boon or bane? we can decide
Earlier this portal was called as Toyota Wheels on Web platform. (Yes, my booking went thru their website migration causing yet another hurdle - we will talk about it soon)

For those of you who are wondering what is this Tweb - a short intro - This is Toyota's web portal, where you can book a car online from their website. Currently available only for Bangalore location as a trial, which they would expand (I am not sure of the timeline as to when) it to different locations of India. The order goes directly to the Factory. The Dealership acts like a company who will enable the delivery. Car will be invoiced directly by Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) and your payment Part-A (which is Ex-Showroom price + TCS) has to be made directly on their portal which goes directly to TKM. Part B (which is Insurance, Road Tax, Registration, Smiles, Extend warranty, accessories) will all be handled by the Dealership you choose!
Probably I am their Test mule (I hope not!) from booking to finally taking the delivery of the car. Now that I've gone through the process, I will write a detailed post in this thread or a new one soon for the benefit of the others! With the challenges and hurdles faced.

For now, will enjoy the new car! Will come back to write about the TWeb soon. Here is pic of it getting ready for delivery!

A 36K price hike for a car they cannot deliver for months and years is absurd.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Arrogance is common now in auto industry, they have zero respect to a customer, my recent experience with multiple Tata dealerships were similar. Anyway, it's a good strategy adopted by the author, he is getting same car with a different name and from a better dealer.

True. Invicto in Alpha Plus does not have ADAS. For ADAS you need to go to the Hycross ZXO. But that's truly a better choice than ZX.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

I had booked the Innova Hycross Hybrid earlier this year in April, but I知 now considering switching to the Petrol GXO variant. My main concern is the absence of ADAS in the GXO trim, which I really want. I知 not able to make up my mind completely揖ia Carens would have been an option if it had ADAS, the Mahindra XUV700 7XL seems like a good deal for around 26-27 lakhs. While the Hybrid ZXO is great, I知 hesitant to spend around 38-39 lakhs on it.
I知 really confused幼an you guys suggest what would be the best choice?

We are kind of in the same boat, it's just I have not yet booked Hycross. Current waiting period is holding me back along with lack of 8 seater in the top ZX(O) trim. I'm waiting for Carens which get a refresh early next year and in most probability will see the addition of ADAS as well.

I too was in similar dilemma in March. I had finalized Hycross, but wasn't sure about what powertrain to go for. Requested Toyota for test drive of both variants. Apart from Slight boost and EV mode when driven at speeds under 30 kmph, the hybrid didn't feel that special. Drove non hybrid also, while it felt sufficiently powerful and very refined the only downside was low efficiency inside city. Since I have other car for city drives, the Hycross would be used only for highway runs. After comparing price difference between GX and VX, I made up my mind that GX was better choice because of 2 major reasons,
1. Price Difference (7-9 lakhs, 25 lakhs for GX vs 32 lakhs for VX)
2. Even if GX returns 12 kmpl and VX 17 kmpl, the amount of petrol i spend on 5 years of ownership will still be half of what I pay for Hybrid Premium considering running of 15k kms/year.

I had booked in 2nd week of march and my car was there in yard on 20th March and I took Delivery on 25th. Even if I opted for hybrid, cars in some shades were readily available. ZX in Black, Silver, Pearl White were offered for me without any waiting. I opted GX in Blackish Aghea Glassflake.

After 8 months and 11400 kms, I will say that I have made best decision to go for non hybrid version and the car is returning 15 kmpl (Tankful Method). Hybrid would have returned at max 18 kmpl.

If you're usage is 60% City and 40% Highway, you can consider Hybrid (Primary Car) . Otherwise, Non Hybrid is the best option.

+1 for it , I bought GX(O) Blackish Aghea Glassflake, it's been a month and done 1600kms on all kinds of terrain like Bangalore city traffic, highways, ghat sections, single lane interior roads, night drives etc, I am fully satisfied with my decision on this sweet spot selection.

I could get mileage of ~18kmpl at 80kmph on highways during initial drives, now with ~110kmph its around ~16kmpl and ~10kmpl within Bangalore traffic, which is absolutely fine for its size.

Hybrid can be definitely considered if city usage is high.

Hycross GX(O) especially in this color is a head turner everywhere (no chrome anywhere, except logo)

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

I am running at 9000Kms now with my ZX(O). I am facing two issues right now, broken rear wiper and loose connection in Toyota installed dashcams ( tried everything to fix but it is kind of dead now).

To solve these two issues, i had to visit dealership now and planning to perform second service as well. Anything to look for during the 2nd service?
