Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Hi all.
Wanted to share with hycross owners some problem I noticed in my hycross recently. My April 23 hycross has done over 31k km till date. Last 2 month or so its alarm would go off randomly sometime glass break alarm sometime intrusion alarm. It would be showing on the Toyota connect app. I forgot to mention it to service advisor when my vehicle went for30k service and also recently to body shop when I accidentally hit front bumper while taking out vehicle from parking till one day it got off so many times that my neighbour knocked on my door to say your car is making too much sound and plz park it elsewhere. Upon taking it to service centre I am told that there is some problem in rear glass and it will be replaced under warranty. Am also told that this problem is occurring in many vehicles and so glass is immediately not available. Car still at service centre. Just wanted to update you all not to miss this and get it replaced if anyone is noticing the same.
Secondly am also wondering why Toyota does not issue a recall and replace all glasses’s . Surely they have all info from i-Connect app as I kept getting calls when my vehicle was due for service from service centre saying sir you car has done so may km you should visit for service

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Having owned both Crysta and HyCross at some point in time, agreed with most members saying the maturity of the latter on highways. But somehow, the current setup is defeating the purpose of having a MPV.

But has anyone found a solution to the sagging issue? With 6 folks and travel bags, the car ridiculously sags to a point that less than smooth roads keep scraping the underbelly. We were recently on some rural roads, and folks had to literally get down from the car, to accommodate unscientific speed bumps and mounds.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

"Niggles update"

Delhi experienced heavy rains for the past couple of days. My Hycross was parked at home only. Today while driving the car, I heard water splashing (like inside a water bottle), on proper inspection i found out that water had collected inside the drivers door. This is extremely concerning about the QC. Taking the car tomorrow to the service station to figure out the issue. Has anyone else faced the same issue?

Thanks! How long have you had the set on for? Any rattles or other nuances that you have faced just yet? Please post a picture of the fitted set if you have one handy.

Good chance your door drainage panels picked up water if you waded through a flooded road. Get the drainage channels unplugged and dried inside out to avoid potential rusting around the plug sockets.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Where can I get Aozoom fog projector lights installed in Bangalore? Anyone got it installed from a Toyota dealership?

I went to my dealer (Ravindu Toyota, OMR) and they showed me a Blaupunkt fog light (non-projector) that they were installing.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Hi kunjeshgupta,

Not sure if you got more replies on this post, but I went to Wasan around the same date and booked mine. Got the same quote. I did get a voluntary input that they will try to deliver the car the same month, to which I expressed my shock, and said I've read about tonnes online that the wait is nearer 6 months or more, and that they'd better tell me the truth, because I can live with knowing from the start that it will take 7 months as against regular disappointment. This has become a 30 day game, where I enquired for the first 3 months, and they said some problem last month sir, but I'll surely get you something this month. There is only 2 ways to get faster deliveries - go an intermediary way by paying 1-3 lacs premium for a fast delivery, or use 'influence', to get the allocation done (which also comes with strings, I'd assume).

I'd say the same as many other posts :
1. Take insurance zero dep from outside, or show the quotation and negotiate a discount on the Toyota insurance.
2. Refuse the accessories list - pick only ones you really want if you can't wait, and get the rest aftermarket
3. Don't take the additional accessories - esp. PPF. Better to go to some good applicators outside (I've read through many posts on BHP, and there's a bunch of recommendations - can dig them up for you if you want). Tint's are not legal as I see it. If you do want the PPF, and are buying the accessories, tell the dealer you will bring the car back for the accessories that you're choosing from them after the PPF.

Hope this helps.

Did you use front 3 way speakers high level input for DSP ?
Yes we used dsp for high level input. Usually it is used with 2 way components but we have separated it and gave all the 6 channels through DSP

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Hello Members,

We bought a Hycross Vx Hybrid in October 2023,
We faced the issue of the brakepad getting jammed since almost immediately after the first service, It happened atleast 4-5 times, We recently got the 2nd service done, We asked them to check for this issue. They found out that the rear right brake pad was rusted.

The issue was with only this one brake pad, All others were okay, Our vehicle has had a very limited run of only 4k kms on the ODO. They refuse to replace this under warranty saying that it is environmental and hence not covered under warranty. We parking is covered, The vehicle has mostly run in and around Coimbatore city with barely a couple of outstation rides. We have had the 1st gen Innova since 18 years, No such issue on that one or any of our other 2 cars we own.

We have written to Toyota India as well but have so far got no response from them (Been 1 week). What should be my next step?

Attaching a few pictures for your reference.

This brake pad certainly looks abnormal - it seems to have just been broken off. Given my experience with Toyota, they almost always never respond to emails. Did you try calling them?

This is one of the reasons why I am thinking of picking up a Crysta instead of the Hycross. I currently own a Gurkha and am looking for a comfortable family mover. The single most reason why I hate monocoques is they sag under load, ride gets worse on bad roads, the car (rear) tends to "crash" especially on expansion joints, this was worst on my then previous car (SCross 1.6). Call me ol skool, but I will still prefer the Crysta.
