The App (IPhone) is basic. It has wifi provision to watch the recording on mobile.
Neatly installed by the Accessories team from the dealer side. I don't see any issues , rattling etc. It switches on and off without manual intervention.

I have this dashcam. I am using Toyota DVR app on my iPhone and managed to connect to the Wi-Fi of the dashcam and view the live recording. In my other dashcam (different brand), Wi-Fi is permanently ON so I can view the live recording on my iPhone even when the dashcam is recording - basically it's possible to have the phone connected to the dashcam all the time. In this Toyota dashcam model, I need to stop recording, enable Wi-Fi and only then I can connect to the phone. So anytime one wants to use the phone app, one needs to go through the steps of "stop recording > open menu > turn on wi-fi > connect phone to wi-fi". Is my understanding correct?

The best way to clean the glass area in the interior would be a 2 step process:

Step 1 - use a hair dryer to blow and clear the glass area from dust particles. They are the notorious ones responsible for swirls

Step 2 - use a soft tissue like Premier paper handkerchief to wipe wherever necessary

Furthermore, for stubborn marks like hair oil or finger smudges, you could use an ammonia-free glass cleaning spray that’s available on Amazon for smartphone and laptop screens or even better smartphone cleaning wipes from Zeiss

Is it true that sunfilms can't be installed on sunroofs? or they are just trying to sell PPF for it to be applied from outside (on top)? I would appreciate if anybody throws some light on this.
I got CR-70 on our Volvo S60’s sunroof around 6 years ago and the HyCross’ sunroof has the Teal-70 film without any issues. I’m sure any sunfilm can be pasted to the sunroof.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Thanks @newton_meteor, that is simple enough to incorporate in cleaning routines, even if you rely on hired cleaners.

I have used CR70 and other films in the past without any special care. Over a long run (10+ years) it resulted in visible swirls and very noticeable hallowing around oncoming/surrounding lights at night. I tried to get is restored but was surprised to know that no such process exist for films, only way is to remove and replace them! I had tried windshield polishing (only for outside surface) which helped to some extent but not so significantly.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Any idea what this symbol means ? I thought it is the warning for rear seat belts (Seats were empty) but even after buckling the seat belts the warning did not go away. Believe Hycross has weight sensors in the seat to detect when they are occupied.

You are right! But its much more simple, on the Toyota DVR, you just need to press and hold the "Back" button / the "return" button for few seconds, and wi-fi on the DVR will be turned on. It will also show up on the DVR screen the ssid and password for the DVR. Using your phone, you can now simply connect to the DVR via wi-fi. Only when you want to access the recordings, there will be a pop up on the mobile phone app about recording being stopped, when you hit the "ok" button on the mobile phone app, recording stops and you can now access the storage.

It’s a seatbelt reminder symbol for all the rear passenger seats (5 or 6 depending on whether your car is a 7 seater or 8 seater).

The HyCross doesn’t get weight sensors for the rear seats, rather only a reminder.

In your case I believe in the 3rd row the seatbelts on either side is buckled, and the roof mounted seatbelt for the 3rd passenger in the third row is unbuckled.

Here’s mine without any rear seatbelt buckled at startup.

I think, Hycross do come with weight sensor or some other type to sense occupancy. Because it only alerts if there is a passenger at rear seat AND not buckled up, if I am not wrong.

On the first batch VX there is no weight sensor. This I'm sure. Haven't seen this buckle sensor warning till date too.

None of the rear seats get weight sensors, it’s only the front two seats that get them.

The rear seatbelt warning comes on while startup and re-appears accompanied by chimes only if someone who was previously wearing them has removed their seatbelt.

I'm pretty sure the sign shows up when you open the back door. The rear seats don't have weight sensors like the front, but if you buckle the rear seatbelt, drive, and then unbuckle it, the car beeps until you buckle again or put in "P" mode.

Now I realize there's a separate rear seatbelt reminder in the MID, which is disabled now. I'll retest this with the setting turned on.

Yes, I stand corrected. Just tested multiple scenarios. The system seems dummy. Technically, if rear seat passenger is not buckled up from start, system won't detect. I wonder, is it the same for other cars too?

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Mileage observed in first two months of ownership.

Tank filled on day of delivery

2nd tank refill: City drive - 19.2 kmpl

3rd tank refill: City drive and highway drive - 17.6 kmpl

4th tank refill: City drive and highway drive - 17.5 kmpl

5th tank refill: City drive - 20.4 kmpl!

5th tank refill was done after 1000 km service. But as far as I know it is only inspection and top up of fluids.

Are the figures calculated based on tankful to tankful method or based on MID readings?

Meanwhile, our Hycross has completed 54,000 Kms in 18 months of ownership and I've been getting a notification of low tyre pressure through Toyota iConnect app.

Car is running on stock Goodyears and they are crap to say the least. Planning to replace with Yokohamas or Continentals soon as soon as it completes 60k Kms, which will be done in another 2 months.

Tankful to tankful method.

Highest that I have seen in MID is 18.9. When I took delivery it was showing 11 in MID.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Hi all! We are looking for a car to cover the long and extensive travel from Gurugram to Noida. The car will be chauffeur driven, and needs to be economical to run on a daily basis. We have dropped the idea of a diesel as makes no sense in the long term in Delhi-NCR. EV is looking as the best option, but back seat comfort is what brings us back to the Hycross/Invicto, and also the Crysta. We are not very fond of the price that the cars ask, but with the limited options we are considering them. Help from you guys will be much appreciated on what route to take for the best comfort, and also keeping an eye on fuel savings. Thanks in advance!
