This is correct, the dealer is offering me a 7 seater VX instead of the 8 seater GXO I booked.

Check if they have a VX 8-seater available and if the budget allows go with it, any insurance from Toyota will cover the hybrid battery, and take the extended warranty if the budget allows, don’t get something you don’t want in the first place.
This is helpful, I believe if I am pushing the budget for VX then I wouldn't risk it with extended warranty and insurance.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Can anyone help me to find information about the hybrid battery warranty? The user guide provided at the time of delivery only includes a warranty registration card and does not mention the default warranty or hybrid battery warranty. The only other document I have is the invoice for the two-year extended warranty. Just wanted to ensure that I didn’t miss any document from the dealer.

Toyota provides an 8-year/160,000 km warranty on the hybrid battery of the Innova Hycross as well all its other self charging hybrid battery cars.

Thank you. Have you received any warranty document that mentions this?

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Today we took our Hycross for a family weekend trip to my grandfathers village temple. It is about 180 KMs from home.

For now I’ll share mileage details.
* For most part of the drive on highway I saw the mileage hover around 14 KMPL. We were 3 adults and 2 kids.
* I maintained speeds between 80 to 100 kmph
* Sometime I overshot 100 kmph as I could not feel the speed of the car. The cars is very smooth and quiet.
* On the way back as soon as I started entering city limits and Bangalore’s crawling traffic , mileage dropped very quickly to show around 12.5 KMPL in the city.
* I did not drive very hard , I have a feeling the mileage will take a hit if we do. I am a sedate driver anyways.
Will share more details soon.
Here is a pic of the summary of return trip.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Something strange happened yesterday with my Hycross VX.
Had washed the car in the morning and covered it up fully. It's on an open road side parking, but right next to my house.

At around noon, the car alarm rang loudly. It took me a while to realise it was my car (never heard the alarm before this incident). By the time I rushed out onto the balcony, the alarm had died down, ~30 seconds had passed maybe. There was no human/animal/rat near the car, it was deserted.

What makes things more strange was this theft alert I got on the toyota app, attaching screenshot.
I inspected the car completely for any dent or scratch or anything, found nothing.

My suspects are:
1. wind blowing against cover or cover clip triggering the sensor
2. random water residue from mornings wash messing up with the electronics
3. Some miscreant maybe trying to key the car or perhaps opening the gate nearby, hitting the car with the gate and running away, all within 30 seconds and without creating a dent but somehow triggering an alarm.
4. Rats underneath or in the engine bay. There is a gutter hole nearby, maybe the alarm scared away the rat.
5. Ghosts.

Can y'all help me narrow down the suspects, or advice me on this? How sensitive is this alarm?

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Can we connect a standard dual battery setup using a dc-dc converter, extra lithium batteries, isolator and inverter for making a on the go camping van setup in a hycross?

Even I've been getting the similar notification from Toyota i-Connect app.

To get this issue resolved, our chauffeur had went to the ASC and SA over there had suggested him to keep the car at ASC for 2 days to get this issue resolved.

And, heard from dad that rats had entered into a Merc GLS in our street and caused damage.

Maybe the rat thing is also an issue I feel.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Hi everyone,

My insurance for my Hycross ZX(O) variant is due for renewal in May. I had to purchase Bajaj Finserv Insurance through Toyota when I booked the vehicle, as they wouldn't process the booking without it. The premium I paid was ₹1.45 lakhs.

I've received a quote from TATA AIG for ₹34,000 (Sapphire++ variant) that offers comprehensive coverage, including the engine, tires, fiber, and Return to Invoice. However, the quote does not explicitly state that the hybrid battery is covered, while the Bajaj Finserv policy from Toyota does mention coverage for the battery.

The insurance agent assured me that the hybrid battery is covered under the TATA AIG policy, but I wanted to get advice from this group before proceeding. What do you all think?

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Are there better R17 tyres for the VX, that help in grip and navigate slightly off-road conditions?

Recently went to Ooty and faced a lot of wheel spin while climbing onto some mini hills for parking. There was no lack of torque but the slush made the tyres lose any grip whatsoever. Any way this can be made better?

The dealer sells Yokohama earth but I not sure if that's any better. My current ones are apollo.

The normal tyres used on such vehicles all come in the category of highway tyres. The advantage is that it gives you excellent grip on the road. But at the same time it doesn't help you on slush where an off-road tyre shines at the cost of comfort and grip on highways. If you want a mix of both there are cross tyres which are designed for 20% off-road like the Contental Conticrosscontact. They may not be available for your tyre size though.

The challenge with grip is also because it's a big vehicle with reasonable weight. So, if you are on an incline and there is slush the weight will be more on the rear tyres. On a front wheel drive vehicle that means the front tyres to which the engine is connected to will have less traction. Reducing the tyre pressure can make your life better in such cases.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Have a question.

VX(o) has a blower control for the rear seats
ZX has a dual zone A/c with temperature control

Does it mean that ZX has two condensers/compressors and VX just has one and use blower to push air to the rear and is it lesser chilling than ZX ?

Can someone clarify this please

Swami

It has only one compressor and one evaporator/heater core.

The only difference lies in the blend doors - a door that controls blending of hot and cold air.

Both zones share the the compressor, heater and evaporator, but the blend doors control how much air passes through each component before reaching each zone. Hycross ZX has 2 zone climate control so it will have 2 blend doors controlling the mix air independently

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Got Hella fog lamps installed today for my VX, no wire cutting @12.5k, bangalore. Was considering the Aozoom, but the Hella seemed better after comparison.
Before and After is light years apart, makes a huge difference, highly recommend it to anyone struggling with the lighting situation of the Hycross.
Still wish there was more sideways dispersion to get some light in the 45 degree blind spot while on hair pin bends. But with these fog lights 90% of my concerns are resolved.
