On the contrary, Autocar has a story on the facelift Crysta scheduled for a tentative Feb 2023 launch with 2.4L Turbo Diesel. The love for oil burners is not going to die any time soon. Yes, the diesel craze from the last decade has significantly gone down, but IMHO there will always be a market for the oil burner as long as fossil fuels are in use.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Launched @ 18.30 Lakh

Most of the sought-after features are available on the VX Hybrid variant, as well as an 8-seater configuration that many would find desirable. Is there any particular reason why Toyota does not offer a bench seat for the 2nd row as an option on the top-end ZX model?

Toyota should have added six airbags starting with the VX trims. Perhaps they will add them later to all variants after the mandatory rule is in place and increase the price further.

Some dealers have sold off all their demo Innova Crysta vehicles and I have verified this. Chances are higher that the Crysta wont be re-launched anytime soon as it will distract the customer from this new launch. They might give it minimum 3 months until April 2023 to see the market response for HyCross and then take a decision. I'm saying all this because some Toyota officials said that the Crysta will make a come-back, and will be produced in limited numbers. (when they met the automotive media post HyCross launch).

It can also be construed that Toyota discontinued the Crysta temporarily to clear the inventory / supply-chain of the BS6 phase I vehicles as the market is going to move to RDE from April 1st 2023. The messaging and signals coming from Toyota management and the dealers is a mixed bag. But I would expect that it is going to be a minimum 3 month wait to know if the Crysta will be relaunched, and if it will be launched only for taxi operators (T Board) post April 1st.

Having said that and looking at your passion for the Crysta, I think you should give a serious thought about buying a well-maintained used Innova Crysta and see if you're OK with buying one. Happy Motoring!
I will be going that route if no updates in a few days. However, the problem with going for a used Crysta is - People treat it like Trash and drive 30k kms in an year or so, then ask for the same amount they purchased it for. So, its going to be a pretty tough job to find one thats less used and in Good nick.

I wanted to buy one and keep it forever and not sell it, since it basically just requires Fuel and regular service to keep it running.

Another thing that I'm really worried about is - I don't want to be a Sitting duck and regret buying one IF it returns in a few days after I get a used one.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Launched @ 18.30 Lakh

I only find the non hybrid variants priced well, the hybrid ZX and ZX(O) are by no means value for money. ₹10 lakhs over GX for top end hybrid, it’s just Toyota tax! When the 6 airbag rule becomes mandatory, the base variant will be a steal.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Launched @ 18.30 Lakh

Dear Team-BHPians, I just read that fuel efficiency figures of HyCross Hybrid have been revised upwards as per the following press release from Toyota:

https://www.toyotabharat.com/news/20...a-hycross.html

The revised figures are as follows:

Hybrid (Revised): 23.24 kmpl (earlier 21.1 kmpl)
Petrol: 16.13 kmpl

Knowing Toyota and the Brand pull of the Innova name, for sure the prices will go up soon. Entry level Innova Hycross is again now priced higher than then entry level Innova Crysta. Similar strategy was followed when Innova Crysta was launched. They are playing a smart game.

Good thing is that this will give some breathing space to competition from the lower side of the price game.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Launched @ 18.30 Lakh

I am surprised to see people calling it a good pricing especially when Hybrid base VX model touching 30 lacs which misses essential safety features and also it has not yet proven its credibility.

Toyota should have priced Hycross hybird at par with base Crysta GX diesel model if they really wanted to bring in a change. Btw, It will be interesting to see how Crysta diesel will be priced in 2023.

GX (8S): ₹19.20 lakh

Hybrid
VX (7S): ₹24.01 lakh
VX (8S): ₹24.06 lakh
ZX: ₹28.33 lakh
ZX (O): ₹28.97 lakh
I tried predicting the prices last month https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/india...ml#post5446574 (Toyota Innova Hycross, now unveiled). Got the ZX pricing right to the dot. On base models Toyota decided not to spend on marketing and just drop the base prices by a lakh which adds 10x traffic than full page ad etc. Brilliant move.

Well done Toyota. Now would you just add 6 airbags in VX or 8 seater in ZX/ZX(O) please.

Regards
Dev

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Launched @ 18.30 Lakh

I believe that Toyota wants to establish the Hybrid way of cars.

They want to make hybrid mainstream and a moderate success of Hyryder forced them to price Innova Hycross attractively.

Once the hybrid becomes mainstream and gather word of mouth is when Toyota starts milking the Innova Brand.

I see Innova Hycross price getting increased by 1-2 lacs in next 6 months.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Launched @ 18.30 Lakh

Any idea how long the battery of a hybrid is expected to last and approx how much in percentage terms it can cost to replace.

Just wondering if this theoretically decides the life of the car.
