Your answers lie in your question itself

Your analysis is spot on. Dealers do not encourage to go for a tyre change and neither do they do it themselves (as far as I know).

The Standard Operating Procedure is to:
1. Confirm the tyre details during PDI
2. Reach out to a specialised tyre shop
3. Negotiate on an exchange price
4. On delivery, drive directly to the tyre shop and get the tyres exchanged. This will ensure that the tyres are still classified as “new” and the tyre shop can sell them at full price.

It is a touch and go as you rightly observed. Even I would want to see how it falls into place. Apparently they would start offering the test drives around Jan 31.
Around Feb 1 they will start invoicing the first batch of vehicles.
So fingers crossed.
My SA is Chetan.

Have you recieved any information from Nandi Toyota on test drives ? The told it would start from 31st right so it should be available by this weekend right.

Called them (Nandi Toyota Kudlu) and they mentioned that the test drives would be available from this weekend. Though I found the conviction lacking in his voice, but that’s just me.

For the delivery as well, he mentioned “first lot next week”

Got info from the Kudlu gate branch that the test drive vehicle would be available from the 5th. They will have the ZX model for test drives.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Today Creta 2023 has been launched with 6 airbags as standard from base variant. Toyota should rethink his strategy of selling the latest tech car Innova Hycross Hybrid with just 2 airbags. This is the biggest con of buying an Innova Hycross.

+100 on this! They should have atleast given an optional safety pack option for all variants like the way they did when they released the Etios. The mindset that safety is only needed for your richest customer is borderline racism and classism for me!

Some madlad in Indonesia decided to go all out with the Innova hybrid and posted a top speed and acceleration run. Now I will probably never go anywhere near these speeds but it is interesting to see what the car is capable off considering it is a massive MUV with a 2 litre engine and the aerodynamics of a brick wall.

I am hearing a lot of wind noise in the background. it seems wither the insulation is not that great or maybe he has cracked a window. If its the latter, its performance is certainly not below par considering its dimensions and aerodynamics.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Anyone in Chennai getting their Hycross delivery in Feb?

Lanson Toyota, Pallikarnai Branch, is launching the car tomorrow (Feb 3rd) and not giving any commitments to those who pre booked the car prior to launch day about the delivery.

I needed the car by March end and if they can't commit to it, will have look somewhere else.

Exactly. Not just Creta, the new alcazar also has 6 airbags across all variants. I vented out myself in twitter few hours ago. Hope Toyota does something about this.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Here is a comparison of how I decided on the Innova Hycross. Most of you might have different opinions regarding some of the things but just for info, I'm posting this here.

Driving the Innova is still left for me and I hope it does not disappoint me. From initial first glance at the car, I loved it. Special thanks to my SA Alex at Nandi Toyota Kudlu Rd, Bengaluru for the support in getting done with my booking on the first day itself. Hoping to get the delivery soon cant wait .

I agree with everything except, is the infotainment on the hycross really worse than the Safari? The XUV 700 and Scorpio-N infotainment was both top of the line, being very responsive with no lag, just like using an ipad. The safari wasn't all that great. Not very responsive + horrible bezels + android auto/apple carplay not fitting in full screen.

The hycross' infotainment is also not the most responsive nor the best in visual quality but is it really worse?

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

I hardly have any experience with Toyotas but did check this car out yesterday and it looks great from outside without being too flashy but, after stepping in I was really disappointed by the Interior plastics. They seem so rough, crude and uneven at many places and the texture/grain on the Toyota plastics doesn't help increase it's appeal either. If soft touch plastics aren't provided at this price point, they least they can do is to ensure good fit and finish. And, is it not possible to use the mid row ottoman seats with the backrest mostly upright and the recliner extended? I honestly couldn't find a sweet spot for it but, appreciate Toyota for implementing it nevertheless. VX is possibly the nastiest variant in the lineup with just 2 airbags and costing nearly 31 lakh OTR. Yaris was once being marketed with 7 airbags in nearly all variants and now this. How times and priorities change.

Yes, the safari's infotainment is not that great but here I'm considering when it came out too, that was in 2021 and currently, they have already showcased a better one for auto expo 2023 (which is really good and feels smooth like XUV). Safari is priced at 28 lakhs and for 50k we could get a good system with 360 cams. But coming to Hycross the VX variant does not even get the full size and taking the ZX considering this to be 2023 the camera and user interface are not at all nice. At 38 lakhs we get Jeep Compass and that screen is really amazing.

Now Hector updated the screen considering the competition, and Safari did the same.

For 37 lakhs the screen feels aftermarket

One of my colleagues had purchased a 50k system with 360 cams for his Innova Crysta GX and that I felt is really good.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Are accessories for the Hycross now available in the open market? Even basic things like floor mats? I am really not motivated to go in for the floor mats from the dealer. But if nothing else is available in Bangalore (or online), then would be left with no choice. Ideally would like to go in for something like Pharoah floor mats.

I'll highly recommend 3m nomad mats available with any 3m car care outlets. They are cut to the size of the car. So model compatibility is not an issue as well.
