I was of the same opinion for many years, i.e. cars are already given anti rust coating during manufacturing and there's no need for an after-market anti rust coating. However, while getting my car evaluated by the Spinny, Cars-24 technicians, I asked about their opinion on Hyundai cars (among other brands). Both technicians mentioned that all cars in Mumbai tend to have rusting problems after 35K-40K km, except Toyota vehicles.

I was surprised to find that my well-kept Celerio with 20K had few spots of rusting (nothing major though).

I guess Mumbai being a coastal city, vehicles here are better off with an after-market anti-rust coating.

Bit off topic: They also had negative opinion of MG cars, stating that fuel efficiency is terrible and overall quality levels are not on par with Japanese cars. Some Hectors had leakage problems (they didn't elaborate).

Re: 2023 Hyundai Verna Review

Got our Verna 1.5TGDi-Tellurian brown a week back.

It's one spanking freakishly designed car. I loved it! Dot

Oh man! This shade strung my heart very well. If anyone still have opinions on it, it will prove you 100% wrong in metal.

The transition from a decade old Manza to this sporty machine was like wowzaaa.

Yet to unlock the horses inside the motor, as it's still in the break-in period(5k km). Will post a detailed review soon...

Until then, enjoy few picturesque.

Re: 2023 Hyundai Verna Review

Quick question guys - the Verna sports the same suspension set-up as Creta if I am not wrong. In the reviews I saw for Creta, people have praised its stiffer suspension and high speed stability, no bounciness etc. While the opinion about Verna's suspension is the opposite, despite of it being a sedan.

I drive the nex gen Verna 1.6D. Can anyone conclusively tell me if the new Verna has a better high speed drive, less-bounciness vs the previous gen or not; I know it's not beating the VAGs for sure (in the handling/steering feedback department either) and I am not looking for an answer in that regard either.

Test drives do not really give a fairly accurate picture (for me), for the most part as my usual driving conditions and roads are not the same as the test drive route and neither is the ride long enough.

Love the Tellurian Brown shade. Congrats on your new purchase!

Also, break-in period if 5k kms? Isn't that high compared to most cars which usually suggest for 1k kms? So you wont take this on highways till the 5k is completed?

Re: 2023 Hyundai Verna Review

Finally got Lelantus today. Starry night 1.5 TGDI DCT SXO. Delivery experience was really nice at Pavan Hyundai Electronic city. Took the car for a quick church visit post which, we got the sunfilm (Gov approved) and Dashcam installed at Edge Car accessories HSR layout. Took the car for a spin to Krishnagiri (the HP bunk with McDonalds). The performance was insane. Each mode does it duty as the name says. The sports mode can literally be called beast mode. Helps to pull away easily. Got several people staring at the car during the drive and while relishing a sambar vada. Finally brought the car home.

Thanks for ur wishes

I might have used the wrong word there, but the manual says that engine performance will get stabilized post 6k km & even my service advisor asked me to avoid revving & maintain a max of 120kph till 5k km.

And I have already executed a 900km roundtrip on highways, the day after taking delivery. Also done with the 1st service as the odometer now stands at 1350km.

Congratulations on your purchase!
Which dashcam did you install? Is it hardwired? If yes, could you share the pics or videos, if any, from the installation process?
Just want to know how hardwired process would look like.

I got this one from 70mai including their wiring kit
https://www.nexdigitron.com/collecti...products/a500s

I didn't get it hardwired on the new verna yet as the the recommended installer suggested to do it post 2 services to prevent the showroom from creating issues. (All plug and play, no cutting). However, I have the same camera hardwired in my 2019 Nios. I'll share some pics soon

I'll share some pics. There are videos on YT but I didn't find them reliable as they were no explaining the same clearly. Contact Nexdigitron and share your location. They will give you a recommended installer near your place

Congratulations mate, was apprehensive of this color since I did not get to see it in person but she's good. I got my Starry Night delivered last month with similar specifications but the SX variant.

Quick question, is that number plate issued by the RTO and HSRP? It actually looks good quite unlike the one I got from my RTO which is just too squeezy weezy that it looks like jumbled wumbled

No they both won't have the same suspension set up (at least the tuning). One is a low slung sedan and the other, an SUV with higher center of gravity and longer suspension travel.
