Cons of hardwiring- Possibility of warranty not being honored. Although i have a 70mai dashcam hardwired and there was no problem when i gave it for two services.
Hey there, I had an issue with my IRVM dimming feature which wasn't working as intended, and after a lot of follow-ups with the ASC, it turns out that the issue was with the hardwiring of the Dash camera, which after being disconnected has resolved the dimming issue with the IRVM, however, would you be able to let me know if you've come across this issue, and if not, can you please help me out by letting me know where have you inserted the ACC and Battery wires to the fuse box? This was the installation that had been done on my Seltos which created a conflict between the functioning of the IRVM's dimming feature,

I'd really appreciate if someone who had there Dashcam hardwired help me figure this out without any issues, whatsoever.

Oh NO NO NO. A big NO to the installation. Whoever did that installation is, sorry to use strong language, an IDIOT. That is a fire hazard. They are not supposed to insert live wires into fuses. From the pictures, it seems that they lifted up the fuse and inserted the wires there, which is very wrong. They are supposed to use a fuse tap.

The black part needs to be inserted into the fusebox and the two slots on the top need to be filled with the original and the dashcam fuse. Also choose a fuse that is always on.

Refer to the handy guide: https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/diy-d...r-dashcam.html (DIY: Hardwiring your Dashcam)

And to reiterate, be thankful this only resulted on a visit to the ASC and not something more dangerous. Always go to a trusted accessory shop and not someone who does jugaad.

Most of the cars have some spare fuse slots available.

Are there no spare fuse slots available in Seltos which can be used to hardwire the dashcam?

Hello folks,

Today I learned that the infotainment system(10.25"") can also play videos from USB drive.

Update 3
Finally got new headlights fitted, but not without drama.

The headlights were fitted without proper alignment, and the beam was way off. I had to raise a stink to get it sorted properly. Many advisors were not even aware of a headlight level chart. This shows the level of competency in service centers. Had to escalate to someone who actually knew what they were doing.

For the uninitated, here is how headlights should be aligned after replacement.

It took them less than a day to finish the warranty process and formalities.

Except for not knowing what a levelling chart is (IMHO the ASC should), they were quite helpful and tended to the case quicky.

Overall, i would say it was 7/10

Re: 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift Review

Hi - has anyone tried using Carplay adaptor with the front C port? Does it work with C port also or only with USB A port? I'm ordering an adaptor and wanted to check if USB port will be used, will need another cable for my iphone charging through C port.

AFAIK, any Carplay or AA adaptor would need to be plugged into the USB-A slot as that's the only one that has AA/CP enabled. The adaptor just converts the wired connection to a wireless signal.

Same Mind vs Heart Conflict here!

Driving a Seltos GTX DAT since 3 years, booked Roxx AX7L 4WD DAT with Jan25 delivery (per M&M's lottery!) or XUV700 same variant. I am confused whether to go ahead with the Roxx/700 or retain the Seltos, as it really been seamless so far. Overall, my total kms covered annually have reduced by 50% over past 3-4 years.

Seltos has been refined, fuel efficient, and good service, luckily no rattles etc. Reasonably good road manners except for the stiff ride. Our 2023 verna I believe uses the same engine in Seltos DCT. Just love how this engine responds, brings a smile till you look at the kmpl values.

Roxx- I am yet to TD, so will take a call based on Ride Comfort, NVH, Refinement and Overall fit and finish. 4WD - might use it for 0.01% if at all!
Do I need the Roxx, not really, but what's the fun if all decisions are mind driven!

Re: 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift Review

Hi everyone, first post on Team-BHP!
Extremely excited to be a part of this community. I am also hoping to be part of the Seltos community but alas Gurgaon dealers seem to have different plans. I tried two Kia dealers and both of them say that in case I need to do third-party PDI, I must give them a written consent that in case of scratches or any damage to ECU/sensors I will be liable. Is this normal? Two dealers have said the same thing saying it is Kia’s official policy. I have a booking with one of them, but he is admant that this is the rule.

Nice conundrum. Completely understandable as Thar 4 door opens desirability for many of us. Off roader, comfy home car both.

My 2 cents:

I’d think if your current ride is completely niggle free and you enjoy driving it quite a lot as well, there is no reason to move from a happy choice to another one.

Think about it, unless off-roading is really on your list(which I guess it isn’t since your alternate consideration is the XUV700), it is fine to stay with the Seltos since it works well instead of replacing it with another.

(If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it )

If you want just another Mahindra in the garage, or want to switch to XUV/Roxx just for the heck of it, well that’s another matter altogether.

Brother, whoever did the hardwiring like this should be arrested & never be let in 100kms of any car modification! This kind of tomfoolery could result in a very very nasty experience. Please get rid of this & stick to powering your dashcam from the cigarette ligher. Avoid this kind of Jugaad.
