So, i would like to know how i can use all functions of these lights without tampering with original wiring in any shape or form.

So, could you please let me know how you have gotten it configured in your car and how has the experience been in last 6 months?

I actually sold the car a few months back due to some personal reasons (No issues with the car, experience was fantastic).

But the fogs performed excellently and the new owner too was ecstatic looking at the light output. In my case the technician had used a coupler and tapped the high beam switch because I specifically wanted it. Other option was they would provide a dash mounted button to switch between high and low beam, but that would have been a ergonomic disaster for me, hence I asked him to link with the high low beam switch of the car. Interestingly the fog lights low beam won't turn on using the high beam button unless the fog light switch was turned on. With usage of high beam only the twin lasers of the fog lights would be turned on.

This setup though ergonomic friendly would definitely void the electric warranty though, so be careful with this approach. I had no idea of the 3 pin approach you are talking about, hence can't comment much on it.

Hope this helps!

Re: 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift Review

Hi Guys,
Pretty excited to be part of this group.
I have finalized on the Seltos GTX Plus DCT 1.5T Petrol and the PDI is after a couple of days. The dealer has agreed for a third party PDI and I have decided to go with Cars24 PDI service for now. Hoping everything works out well 🤞

As part of the deal, I am getting 15k worth of accessories for the Seltos but I am unsure which one's to go for at the moment and which will be actually beneficial.

Please help with your suggestions.

Coincidently I too am thinking of letting go of this otherwise excellent car. In my case the issue which does not seem to have any solution is the seat. I am just not able to adjust to it and getting sever back pain issues now. I experienced them when the car was new, but after few weeks it seemed that the body had adjusted. However, for 2 months now, the back pains are back and they are worse then before. I also used the back supports etc. for couple of weeks, but it did not help.

To eliminate any doubts, I used my cousin's harrier for about 10 days, absolutely no back pain. So definitely something is wrong with the seat and the steering position which is causing these back pains.

I know lot of people earlier had this issue, wonder how they are getting along. Also, a shout out to those who have recently purchased their Seltos. Whats your experience so far?

Hey,

Frido Ultimate Car Neck Pillow immensely helped my case regarding back pain. I have just returned from a 7-day road trip, covering 1,700km this morning. With over 28,000km driven in my Seltos, I can certainly say that this product helped me in the long drives.

It's worth a try before deciding to let the car go.

I own a GTX+ 1.5T Petrol. Some of the Official Seltos accessories are of very poor quality. The dustbin is a big NO, it is flimsy and hardly serves the purpose. The neck pillow is very uncomfortable, you are better of with after market ones. I got a good discount on the car and the dealer pushed around 25K worth of accessories on me. In hindsight, i feel should have negotiated hard.

A few ones that i bought and found useful

1. Premium Mat
2. Micro Fiber cloth (would suggest to grab 4 of them)
3. Key cover
4. Tyre inflator (have used it only a couple of times)
5. Premium Boot Mat
6. Invertor (Have used a 45W laptop adapter)

I hardly use #4 and #6, if had a 15K purse would have avoided them. The screen protector (for the cockpit) was not available when i bought my car, but could be a good addition to the shopping list.

Personally i dont like the garnish stickers, but if you are a fan of those you can check them out.

Thanks for responding.
I initially thought of getting the Dashcam installed. They quoted 17k so I had to pay just 2k more but then I heard the reviews aren't that great. So decided to get it outside.

Not a big fan of excessive chrome either.
Thinking of getting the mat, mud flaps, key cover and screen guards. Thought of the neck pillows but now it's a no after your experience.

FYI mud flaps and door sill plates are already included with GTX model so no need for them.

I took delivery of XLine a week back and already 1200 kms on ODO.

I opted for-
  1. 3D mats
  2. 3D boot mats
  3. Body cover
  4. Side garnish
  5. Premium cushion
  6. Premium neck rest cushion

IMHO 3D mats are easy to clean and you don’t have to worry about foul smell due to damping in monsoons.

Body cover i used only once and now after getting the car ceramic coated won’t be using it again.

Side garnish is a good add on in black Xline as it helps in breaking the monotony of side profile.

Premium cushion i got just because my mom asked for them and they do look premium and helps in long journeys.

Neck rest cushions are working out great for me, they are well built and provide decent cushioning which definitely helps in long drives.

Rest you can decide according to your needs.

Thanks & regards

Thank you.
I am going to the showroom in a couple of days for PDI. Will ask to see the accessories and then make a decision. Thank you so much.

I too am facing issues adjusting to my GTX+ Seat, but it's not Back Pain for me, rather it's discomfort and pain in my Right Leg \ Thigh. I find under-thigh support extremely poor in the Driver Seat. Like the Seat Length is less to provide adequate support. Does anyone else feel the same? I am 5' 8, so normal height. Once I start driving, I start feeling uncomfortable after some time and try adjusting my leg position frequently and hence unable to enjoy my Drives, which is feel sad about because I love Driving and going on Long Drives. I took it easy initially thinking it is an adjustment phase with a new car and the Issue would go away, but 10 months into my Seltos ownership, I am not yet comfortable. I used to drive Ritz before Seltos and have never faced any issues with Seat or Driving Comfort. I have tried all sorts of Seat adjustments, but I am unable to find the sweet spot. Don't know if it is the unusual tube type Seat Pattern causing discomfort or the Issue is something else. The thought of selling off the Seltos has not crossed my mind YET, but who knows.

Re: 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift Review

I agree with the general consensus regarding the seat comfort, something that I called out in my previous post. The Seltos seats aren't the most comfortable ones. Thankfully it's that not that bad for us, but we definitely feel a lot more comfortable in our Creta. I think it's the cushioning and size/angle of the seats where the Seltos falls short.

I agree with this a 100%. I too am suffering with the exact same issue.

Before pulling the plug on Seltos, try adjusting the front height of the seat, not the back height. Push/Pull the front part of the seat adjust button to compensate for the length/height of the torso. I found that having the front part of the seat base higher than the rear part elevates the thighs and provides more bolstering. Having a lumbar pillow helps too.

Agree with this. I moved from a Ritz to Seltos and had issues with Knee and back pain initially. I tried various positions and was able to sort it our by following this method. For my height I had to raise the seat and move the seat forward and the pains are gone now. Long drives are comfortable now. I only use a neck pillow.

Tried that, and it works too, but only to some extent. Pretty much the same advice I have given to other members in the past. That said, it's definitely not anywhere close to the comfort level we experience in our Creta. And it's not just only about the driver's seat adjustments - the rear seats lack under thigh support which almost everyone in our family has noted. The difference is immediately felt when you switch from the 2nd gen Creta. Not saying it's terrible, but it does fall short in offering an optimal seating experience - something that potential buyers should carefully evaluate.
