An alternative that I could suggest is, if you use iTunes to directly upload your music onto a playlist from your computer, the same music should show up in your Apple Music app on the phone. This takes place only if you logged into both apps using the same account. I am not sure if you need Icloud or an apple music subscription for the same. Worth giving a shot, I'd say!

Re: 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift Review

Booked a Seltos GTX+ DCT in white on 6th December. PDI was scheduled for 12th December at the dealer stockyard and the car passed the PDI with flying colours. As the car was being readied for Friday, 18th December delivery, everything went downhill.

During the second PDI right before the delivery, found multiple scratches on the rear glass.

Culprit : the cleaning cloth used to wipe off the dust at the stockyard.

Immediately notified the SA and the showroom manager confirmed the same. They both were very apologetic and promised solution within 2-3 days. Immediately asked the bank to stop the payment, though they had issued the DO to the dealer.

Dealer was very cooperative in this case, they asked me not to take the delivery as they promised to arrange another car for delivery. They managed to source another GTX+ in white today and shared the VIN by themselves for us to verify that this was a new car. Conducted the PDI today. Delivery scheduled for tomorrow

Re: 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift Review

I have a Seltos GTX+ Petrol which I bought in April 2024. 3000+ km on ODO. After 2-3 months of purchase, I faced an issue one day where after starting to work, for first 2-3 mins, it felt very underpowered while moving as if it is about to turn off, and eventually within 2 mins, the vehicle turned off. Then I started the vehicle again and it was all smooth. But later in the evening when I started from work also same issue happened where it felt underpowered and turned off within 2 mins after starting the vehicle while moving. Again started the car and I didn't see this issue again for months.

3 weeks back, again same issue happened and this time there was also the Engine Management System error which persisted. So I took the car to service center. While I was driving to service center, at times the car felt as if it will turn off immediately and there was no power at all. After dropping the car at Epitome Kia service center at Whitefield in Bengaluru, they diagnosed the vehicle for 3 days to find the issue but eventually said some wires were loose, they re connected them all and engine warning light had disappeared as well. I was not fully convinced since they took 3 full days to find the issue and in the end was it just a loose wire? However, since there was no error anymore, I didn't worry much.

But after a week, again on one morning car felt underpowered, turned off while moving and Engine Management System warning appeared again. So again I took the car to service center and told them issue is not fixed at all and they didn't diagnose properly. After 2 days of diagnosis, today they told me there seems to be an issue with O2 sensor, so the warning is there, and their warranty team is investigating the issue.

Has anybody faced similar issue here? Are O2 sensors prone to fail within months? Is that the only cause or there maybe any other underlying issue?

O2 sensors failing in such a short time is quite rare. Have you gotten the engine bay washed with a pressure washer by any chance? It may be a case of loose injectors or water entry into Mass airflow sensors. Corroded ECU might do that too. If it was just an O2 sensor failing, warranty replacement must be much quicker. Also, get the error codes from them. The problem would be much easier to diagnose.

I have faced similiar issues of the car starting and turning off again in my seltos and the car refusing to turn on in another seltos. Both the vehicles are GTX+ DCT P models, one has run 8500kms and the other 13000kms and are right about the one year mark.

I had to call Kia Road side Assistance for one of the cars and what the tow truck driver shared with me is, that in fact a lot of Kia cars are facing the same issues and are being towed to the service centre.
Eventually, in both my cars, the throttle body and the spark plugs were removed and cleaned and both the cars were back to working like new again. Ask them to try this for you and Change your service centre , it does not take 3 days to diagnose a car, only happens when service centres are overcrowded.

Re: 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift Review

5,000 kms up in a two and half month time and it's been a smooth ownership experience with no niggles so far. We drove the car at 120kmph for the first time (on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway) and it felt rock solid at that speed. One of the pros of stiff suspensions - they make the car feels more stable at high speeds.

The average fuel efficiency is ~17kmpl which is good given that we usually drive with a heavy foot and the car sees open roads as well as heavy traffic.

A big shout out to the ADAS. Even in dense fog/smog, the system reads the lane markings and traffic without any fail. We consistently used the Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Steering Assist and Lane Keep Assist and they worked brilliantly in that low visibility conditions. I'm convinced that it's a well suited radar system for Indian highways, not so much for city driving conditions though, particularly the Forward Collision Avoidance Assist which is permanently off after that heart stopping experience we had.

Also, the annoying "take a coffee break" notification definitely goes away if the Lane Steering Assist and Lane Keep Assist are on as mentioned by @blogslogger - thank you for the suggestion, it does work .

I am scared now
I have my car's delivery this Sunday. PDI was done few days back and it was all good. All payments cleared.

How should I tackle if a situation like this arises in my case?

As long as the car is not registered, you can ask for a replacement should you find any issues. Once registered, nothing much one can do except taking the delivery and getting things corrected later. But don't worry, things don't go wrong that often, be positive and enjoy the new car delivery experience.

Good luck!

Hello! We initially had it on for a few days and it worked reasonably okay, until this happened:
Quote:
Had kept the forward collision assistance on but experienced a heart-stopping emergency braking when an idiot on his bike suddenly cut in from the left. Turned it off immediately. Not sure if we would want to use it anytime soon.
Unfortunately, our roads are full of reckless drivers and no matter how carefully you drive, your car will likely end up applying the emergency brakes with someone rear ending it.

Re: 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift Review

Typically, factory colored cars have 4 to 6 layers comprising of eCoat, primer, base coat and clear coat. Most of the swirl marks or light scratches are on the clear coat as this is the thickest part of the factory paint. The removal of swirl marks or light scratch at times involves priming (reducing) the clear coat followed by the topup of a Ceramic Coat or Wax.

Rather that doing this one time, IMHO, for swirls marks or light scratches, one can opt for regular (once in couple of months) application of a good wax (carnauba or synthetic) coat. This can be even done at home and take couple of hours, at the max. There are many option to choose from, however I prefer, Meguiar's or Turtle Wax, as have been using them for more than past 5 years and are amongst the renowned international brands.

Re: 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift Review

Took delivery of my Seltos GTX+ DCT in white last friday.

Seltos replaces our ageing Innova crysta 2.8 automatic which had covered 2.30 lakh kms in 6.5 years. While Innova was running really well, GRAP restrictions and 10 year diesel vehicle ban in NCR ensured it was staying parked for 30-45 days. We keep our cars for 6-7 years, so the replacement being a petrol car was a no brainer.

The only two cars that were considered were Creta N-line and Seltos. We already have a Verna in the house, and i hated that the driver side door controls were non illuminated. So, booked the Seltos after a long test drive with delivery promised within 15 days. Buying the car in December meant good year ending discounts. After a couple of negotiation rounds, managed to close the deal at 21.4 lacs for October 2024 manufactured car with corporate registration and 5 year extended warranty.

Delivery day was finalised after the downpayment. Asked the bank to clear the balance payment only when i give a go ahead after the second inspection on the delivery day.

Reached the showroom on time and during the inspection found deep scratches on the rear glass. Showed the scratches to the GM sales who was present at the showroom and he apologised for the problem and suggested to wait for a couple of days so that they could arrange another vehicle for delivery.

1 day later, a new car was arranged for delivery. The odometer read 8kms. Completed the PDI, fortunately everything was okay this time and the car was delivered as promised by the dealer.

As i am writing, the odometer reads 314kms.

Initial impressions:
  • The petrol motor is fabulous. It is refined, pulls strongly.
  • The DCT gearbox jerks a bit at lower speeds. Once it builds up speed, everything is smooth and quick. To tackle this, i put the car in eco mode whenever i am driving in the city.
  • Brakes are setup nicely. Strong stopping power and good bite.
  • Do not like the all black interior. I keep the panaromic roof blind open during the day to make things better but during the night, it feels gloomy and dark.
  • Bose labelled sound system is medicore at best. I am still trying to adjust the settings to make it liveable, if not then will definitely upgrade the speakers.
  • Rear space is good. I am 5'10 and can sit comfortably behind with driver's seat set for my driving pattern. i have around 3" of leg space between my knees and the seat.
  • Its a crime to give electric seat adjustments and skip memory settings.
  • My driving is 70% highway and 30% city. Fuel economy reads as 14.1 kmpl right now. Will be able to comment more on this once i have done couple of tank fulls.
  • Headlights are very average. With winters in Delhi, i am dreading the visibility once it gets foggy here. Need to find a solution to this.
  • Car came shod with JK Tyres from the factory. Might upgrade to better rubber next week.

That is it for now. Have a road trip to the hills coming in 2 days. Will get to know the car better in the next few days.

Re: 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift Review

Waiting since 10 days after doing full payment, Dealer saying no to temporary registration in Maharashtra. My BH registration is stuck in verification stage since a couple of days. Since I had sold my old car, I have no means of transport now so it's getting frustrating. Hoping to get delivery before the year ends

Re: 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift Review

Took Delivery of my Xline DCT Aurora Black Pearl last week. Close to 1k on the odo currently. No issues encountered so far, the car is a beauty. Very stable at high speeds and inspiring confidence. Plenty of power under the hood for overtakes at highway speeds as well. FE on the instrument cluster during my Hyderabad to Bangalore trip showed 13KMPL, hoping it would increase after first service.

Planning to get a ceramic coating done after couple weeks. Detailing studios in Bangalore a quoting around 27-35k for the graphene coating. Is this a good price ? and also wanted to know good detailing studios in south/east blr? Also, any tips on maintaining black color are welcome as I am able to notice swirl marks within a week itself.

Congratulations on your new car! Wishing you many many happy and safe miles with it.

Black paint work will be challenging to maintain. Even light scratches and swirl marks are going to be highly visible. You can opt for a good quality TPU PPF if you want relatively easier maintenance and absolute protection from minor dings and scratches.

Ceramic coating can be a good option if you don't want to spend too much on PPF and/or don't want to deal with taking it off and reapplying after a few years. The coating should help retain paint shine, protect it from the harmful UV rays and other contaminations.

Another way to maintain your black paint is regular detailing, either DIY or at a good detailing store. There are some really good products which you can try at home. One of them is the Turtle hybrid ceramic spray.
