Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

Those who have bought car at PPS Kanakapura road in Bangalore, do you know the insurance companies from whom they provide insurance while purchasing 3XO?

I am planning to buy AX7L from India Garage, but get services done at PPS which is closer to my new home; hence, I was thinking of opting for the insurance companies that PPS Bangalore provides.

By the way, India Garage is quoting 48k for insurance and I have asked them to revert showing a quote from Acko for 30K.

May be you could try using this link on their service portal? I am not a owner yet so the site blocks me at the login OTP section.

Sharing the EW pricelist from our whatsapp group if it helps:

Thanks for sharing. It seems it is better if we opt for the 4th & 5th year after 2 years but before the completion of the 3rd year as the incremental cost is negligible vs opted for today & this is also a compelling reason for the dealers to push it.

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

Guys, a relevant query here.

What's the real world fuel efficiency that you people are getting in city driving and highway driving? I am asking about the 1.2 ltr TCMPFi Manual Variant here and not the GDi or Diesel variant.

I am hearing the fuel efficiency to be 8-9 in city driving conditions which I presume is a bit low for this engine. The brochure says 18.9 or 19 Kmpl which is ofcourse under strict, sedate and standard test drive condition and may not be applicable to our City driving condition.

Ofcourse on highways, I have heard that the 1 2 ltr TCMPFi Manual Variant gives 16-18 Kmpl which is reasonable and acceptable for a car of this weight.

They gave me an option to choose the provider saying they supported all major ones (example given was hdfc, icici, reliance, etc). I went with HDFC. The initial quote was 65K. Got it down to 45K and bought it.

Yes, as long as they don't hike the prices in 2 years

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

Having driven my XUV5OO for 10 years and 170,000 km, I'm now looking at replacement options. So I tried out the XUV 3xo AX5 MT version today.

While, the driveability was wonderful, I observed two issues which I would like to share here and I want to know if others have also observed them.

a. The right hand A pillar is obstructive, but having driven the 500 for a long time I've learned to deal with it. However, what caused me concern was the right hand ORVM, which appears to create an additional blind arc. I tried raising my seat to look over it, but it wouldn't go any higher. I'm not a short person at 5'8", so I can't understand why the ORVM has been placed almost at face level.

Has anyone else also observed this?

b. The other thing was the stiff ride. Is it just me or have others also found the ride to be stiff?

Congrats btw even I had booked my car 2 months back (AX5L nebula blue) and the dealer still is not giving a proper timeline for the delivery.

Could you share how you escalated your issue ?
Guess I’ll have to do the same to get mine.

I got fed up and mailed customer care email id from the website with booking id and dealer name and tweeted about it @Mahindra support. The tweet was useless but the email got escalated and Mahindra alloted a car from the factory to me. They did call to confirm whether I was still interested in purchasing the car, which I was. All in all, one has to proactive with these guys but they are better than Tata which were way worse three years back when I purchased my Harrier.

Only Mahindra and VW group recommends 95 octane petrol. Even in that VW at least says not to use below 91 but better to use 95 but Mahindra only recommends 95 for both Tcmpfi and GDi.

Not sure what could be reason where all the manufacturers use the same direct injection turbo technology engines.
If we leave these Octane numbers aside, which are the recommended fuel brands from the various Oil companies we have? Shell Power, HP Power, IOC XP95? Will the lower grades also work well for 3XO & any additional benefit for using the higher grade fuels?

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

It is great that no dashcam is required but no one talks about this in any review or I am not able to find this info anywhere.

Do you have any write up or any video explained by someone to look at it. My current dashcam from Nexdigitron is having issues & was waiting for the delivery of my AX5L to fix a new one.

The 3XO has Turbo Petrol engine and hence a higher octane fuel is recommended. This is not a priority with Naturally aspirated petrol engine, though higher octane fuels are overall good for the engine.

The engine runs as designed with a higher octane (91 or 95) fuel and there could be some knocking in the engine when 87 Octane fuel is used.

So, rather than additional benefit for using the higher octane fuel, it's the other way around. It's the engine degradation that occurs over a period of time when lower octane fuel is used and engine runs normally with higher octane fuel.

So, when ever you have an option between these different octane no. fuels, opt for the higher octane fuel and not the lower octane fuel.

When you don't have an option, well you fill what you get.
