I have booked THAR Roxx MX5 P AT on 4th Oct and my estimated delivery date was Jan 2026. Last week I contacted another dealer in Bangalore randomly to check the availability and they said They have MX5 D AT(Tango Red) in stock and can deliver in 2 weeks. I booked the vehicle and today I got the information that invoice is generated and the vehicle is allotted. They will arrange the PDI and they informed vehicle will be delivered shortly. I was so de worried about the 2026 delivery date as I have sold my existing car. The dealer also told that they have some preference in allocation from Mahindra and they had received 65 vehicles in total. Out of them only less than 10 were AX7 models and most were MX5. (Not sure how true is this). Hopefully i will get delivery by next week

Can anyone please advise on which Insurance you took for your Roxx? The dealer is quoting 90k (1 year accident + 3 year third party). I have checked Policy bazaar and found some for 50k (TAT AIG and Zurich Kotak). Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Had a look at the Roxx yesterday.

Nothing much to add except for the fact that it looks like a Jimny from the rear, looks like it was suddenly cut off, the car is really comfortable now. Dont think this can be the first/only car of the house, but certainly a second car. (boot space, white interiors etc)

The dealer can allocate the car to someone else, when customer who had original booking cancels the booking or if loan process runs into issues. I have couple of colleagues who did dealership booking for XUV700 last year because the dealership was able to allocate a cancelled car to them earlier than online delivery timelines.

Basically any video with a ROXX headline will have engagements. I am seeing videos like "Roxx first accident", "Roxx first 35 inch tyre", Roxx this, Roxx that all over youtube and social media. Most of these channel owners and their subscribers are equally ignorant about cars.

Coming back to my experience, haven't got a chance to take it out of the city yet, might happen this coming weekend.
I am still searching for the optimum driving position. It does lack lumber support, and I'm finding that more uncomfortable than the much discussed under thigh support.

The rear seats appear super comfy for whoever have taken a ride, no complaints there.

TATA AIG insurance. 55.5k premium at 95% IDV, zero depreciation, and some add ons like engine protection, RSA etc for my AX7L P AT.

I got a quote from Acko which was approx 52k and the dealer almost matched it.

When are you expecting delivery? Would be first P AT on tbhp. Eager to read about your experience with driveability, power and mileage.

Although there has been no information or update from the dealer on this. In the meanwhile ANOTHER booking was added to my credentials on its own. Bearing booking number 10154xx1 on the 11th of October

So I have one booking in the 2 thousands and 1 in the 1.5 lakh range now

Earlier the new booking was showing for a different variant and colour (AX7L D MT RWD White). Now both are showing the same variant and colour after I asked the dealer about this
Update to this:
The first booking with booking ID 100023XX is showing expected delivery date as 10 December 2024 to 10 January 2025

Whereas the other booking 10154xx1 (which is for the same car actually and added by the dealer I don't know why) is showing expected delivery date as 15 May 2026 to 15 June 2026!!

Has anyone here gotten delivery of AX7L D MT 4WD? If yes then what was the booking ID range?

I am getting the feeling that this rush for booking and judicious delivery of the vehicle sequentially to those who booked first is a complete scam

Since I had time restrictions from the financier, the amount has been already disbursed to the dealer and if the second time line is to be believed I'd have almost finished the loan tenure by the time the car gets delivered!!!

Which colour you opted? Many says usually they hand over the vehicle quite earlier than the ETD communicated by M&M but not sure!

You are lucky. May i know which dealer you finally opted and it's really surprising that out of 65 only 10 AX7L they got! Usually car dealers always tries to offload top end variants but in the ROXX case it's vice versa and heard many saying that mid variants are available with some dealers and they are ready to deliver it.

Yes absolutely dealer can give it to the next in the line who opted for the same variant in such cases.

My booking ID is about 2k before yours, but delivery date is later (20th December onwards), AX7L D AT 4x4 and with NCR location is the slowest to deliver I think.

Hi - you may have missed my earlier post. Can you please share some close-up pics of the alloy including its make, model? Also, was there any difference to the ride quality while it was running on OEM steel rims and then later after you installed the alloys?

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Local NCR dealer is quite confident of delivering MX5/ AX5L 4x2 D AT in any colour within 2 weeks, without premium should this be helpful for any members considering. Says he hasn't delivered a single AX7L till now.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

What's the view on buying extended warranty for 4th and 5th year ? It's not that cheap at 35k, and I'm sure that in the fine prints of TnC, Mahindra will exclude a lot of components under the standard wear and tear clause.

For a lot more peace of mind and stress free ownership, the 35K is a small amount you are paying. Please purchase with eyes closed as there are many cost magnets in the car which can conk-off any time and extended warranty will cover for the most - can go into the details on whats in and not but 35K is worth a lot more than what it seems when you are purchasing. Also, remember that this will start going up as your car starts ageing.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

From roughly 100 metres distance, I was convinced this was a brand new and modded Roxx!

I feel for JEEP to have a competitor priced at ~40%, that can look so alike, and probably do 80% of what the Rubicon can.

Have always had a black and white duo. So currently I have the white Scorpio remaining with me, therefore the Thar will be what they're calling 'Stealth Black'

I see. Does your profile also show 2 bookings?

I'm unsure what to make of this fiasco. The test drive vehicles were all 4WD and AX7L trims in our city. Now what few vehicles I'm seeing on the roads are all MX5 variants and all 2WD.
