I would pick Red, its a deeper shade than the current Rage Red in the 3D. I would have preferred Rage red more, but still tango Red is not too different. The grey is unique but more bluish to my liking. And looks subtler. Popular &Bold vs Unique & Subtle is what would make the difference.

By the way, what is the waiting period currently for mocha interior trim?

Driving Roxx for about two weeks now. One small issue but it is driving me crazy. I prefer no music in city drives, so I keep the music turned off. But every time I start the vehicle, Radio is turned on automatically.

Question to fellow Roxx owners: How to make it remember the last used infotainment settings? Is it possible?

Whenever you switch off the vehicle, keep the volume to zero.
So next time when you start the car, there won't be any music/radio playing until you increase the volume. Hope this helps.

Same issue with Maruti, and even aftermarket android systems (even branded UNO Minda system). VW/ Skoda is sorted.

Gives me a feeling the Maruti/ Mahindra smart systems are based on a custom android version?

Mocha interiors delivery starts from Jan '25 end as per the SE. I have a "contact" in the RTO side so did trigger that one . Lets see how it turns out. Fingers crossed.

Would however suggest you to book grey, so that you don't delay my vehicle delivery :P :P

I have seen 2 Thar Roxx in Burnt Sienna in-person at showroom in broad daylight as well as inside the showroom. The brown shade did not look that great to me either. I had initially saved my booking in Burnt Sienna. Luckily I was able to see it in-person before bookings opened on 3rd October and changed the color.

I have not Battleship grey in-person, so I can't comment on how the color looks in real life. The grey has a tint of blue in it and is very close to grey color of battleships (hence the name).


I felt Tango red has some Crimson red hues in it. The crimson color hues were not visible that much when I took the picture from iPhone camera. The red color seen in YouTube video is closer to the actual red color shade.

Thanks mate for the pics. You are absolutely correct, the Tango Red does have a Crimson tone in it. The SE guy was like If I go for Sienna I might be getting the vehicle a bit earlier compared to others as the number of bookings is lesser.

Like I said in my post, same config. So AX7L, 4X4, D AT, Mocha. The tentative delivery mail said Apr-May 2025, but guess will depend on my dealer. I haven't spoken to him yet post the online booking.

Hi all, on the Thar Roxx diesel AT RWD, is it possible to get a better mileage by using the manual gear option to upshift. I tried doing it on my car, but it does not permit to upshift till a certain speed and rpm level. For example, upshift only at 30 or 50 kmph and 2000 rpm. Any guidance will be helpful. Thanks

Hi all,

I have booked the Thar Roxx - MX3 Petrol AT in white.

The earlier brochures mentioned Apple Carplay available as 'wired' and android auto 'wired & wireless' for the MX3 variant. The brochure downloaded from Mahindra website now shows that Apple Carplay is not available on the MX3 or MX5 (only available on the 'AX.." variants). This is a big miss for Apple users, as we will have to go back to the phone holder times.

Also I wanted to add the following accessories:

18" alloy wheels from MX5 - Hope this is available at a nominal cost (15K per alloy?)
LED Fog Lamps - Any idea if this is available from Mahindra and at what cost?
LED day time running lamps - Can this be retrofitted in MX3? I see from some you tube videos that the white circular light strip without illumination is present in MX3. Do we need to replace the entire headlamp units for this or is there any other cheaper option.
Leather wrapped steering: Is the steering without leather wrapping thick? Previously I added leather wrap on my Compass sport variant. But the steering wheel thickness became oversized and uncomfortable to hold.

Can anyone who has got their MX3 variant delivered shed some light on the above queries?
