Thanks. Actually, my apprehension is not about getting the receipt, but the fact that in case during PDI or whenever I get to see it, if the car has any issue, I’ll be stuck due to this amount paid to them now.
Hence, seeking the view of forum members experienced with Mahindra deliveries

Get the vehicle Financed and initiate the finance process, that way they won't be able to ask for upfront money and if they say so ask them to send it in written.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

As some of you might have seen on YouTube already, projector fogs are a very common mod that Roxx owners are doing. I want to know how will cornering lamps function if we swap OEM fog lamps. Is there a specific side bulb that illuminates when taking turns or does it just turn on that side's fog lamp when taking turns? I am unable to reproduce the cornering lamps myself in stationery mode so I cannot find out on my own.

Planning on taking delivery on Gurpurab, let's see when I can go and see the vehicle.
So my parents took delivery of the Roxx last week. Got a chance to come home this weekend and take a good look at it.

A couple of things that I haven't seen being brought up before -

1. I was driving the car while wearing air-max type sneakers. I found my foot getting stuck between the brake pedal and the panel above it. Doesn't inspire confidence, and the area feels cramped.

2. Engaging 4WD is tricky and difficult.

3. Not a fan of the audio system. The vocals feel subdued and the EQ settings aren't the easiest to understand. Also, there is no 'Standard Mode' in the sound experience settings - only studio, surround, and few more under the experiences. Any ideas on how to tune the EQ for a balance between clear vocals and bass?

4. At speeds of about 40kmph, the transmission doesn't upshift while maintaining a constant speed and seems to be stuck at about 1900rpm - for me, this produced vibrations and an effect of something getting dragged along.

5. The visibility from the car is something else. Yes, the windshield is small, but you sit very high up - even higher than our fortuner.

6. Glad to see that the buttons to operate the sunroof and the curtain are different!

7. The footwell lighting looks great at night.

8. Haven't driven a car with ADAS before, but I could not find the option to use the normal cruise control after turning off automatic braking. It defaulted to ACC. Is this how it works?

9. Interestingly, the digital cluster shows a photo of the AX5 Variant.

10. The steering is L I G H T. Makes the car extremely easy to maneuvre. My mother, who was apprehensive about the thar, immediately noticed and loved this.

11. Have gotten the tyre pressure set to 30PSI, but still found the ride to be a bit bouncy, even when compared to our fortuner.

12. There is an option to change the indicator sound and volume in the cluster.

13. My father and I are about the same height (5'10"). His knee doesn't knock against the central console, but mine does.

14. Still no update on the inclusion of Carplay.

15. So happy that high beam assist is turned on by default . Though most users will turn it off, hopefully some of the idiotic misaligned headlight folks will not be using their high beams all the time.

16. The Thar is an extremely extremely common sight in Chandigarh, and even I typically stereotype the thar drivers as bad drivers, the 'velas', and the always on High beams, blinding the oncoming traffic types. Hopefully will be able to change these

17. In about a 25km total drive today, I managed to see all the colours of the Roxx, other than burnt sienna, out on the road. Good to see that deliveries are starting.

18. Please enlighten me, were the top models not supposed to get aluminium pedals?

19. The doors are really high, even from the step. What this means for us, is that while getting out, the door doesn't hit into the landscaping, but instead opens over it. Faced this issue in all our previous cars, so this is a relief.

Interestingly, my father prefers the drive of the Roxx to the Fortuner! That is a commendable feat. As for me, I will have to spend some more time with the vehicle to make up my mind. Will be back in a few weeks and explore it more.

Open to any questions you may have (haven't had the chance to sit at the rear yet, so will not be able to comment on that)

While the post does highlight some negatives, they are primarily there because I was continuously looking for something to fault. But the car is really nice overall, and a great package. Whoever has driven it within the family or the friend circle, wants to get their hands on one - even people who could never fathom the idea of owning a thar. That's saying something!

Dealership experience, well that remains to be seen.

You should change your mat. I can see them interfering with the brake pedal.

Are these part of the official Mahindra accessories? Is there anything else that's worth getting other than the mud flaps?

Adrenox is working on your vehicle? You've got the activation on your phone number? I was led to believe that the roll out of Adrenox will be later. In fact I signed a waiver at the time of delivery that I should expect Adrenox not before March 2025

Software bug. The only selection in the equaliser preset is 'Flat'. Which also turns the subwoofer also all the way down. No other presets can be accessed. There should have been a list of presets available for selecting when one taps on that box. The list is not becoming visible on the UI. I hope that Mahindra will address it with a software update eventually

Yes adrenox was activated by the dealer infact before delivery same day . I Knew all the trips made in the car and when they started the vehicle and switched it off.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

I finally got it today. Initial impressions are very good. It is what I was looking for my short daily commute plus occasional trips to hills. One sits higher and the visibility is great. Steering firms up nicely at speed and the car soaks up bumps like there is nothing. Reminded me of Endeavour. The difference is that the gearbox on Mahindra is better than it was on Endeavour so the engine is more responsive. I also feel the suspension is tuned far better for our road conditions. I could drive over a feet-deep crater without any fuss. High speed, and highway manners need to be checked.

MRF tyres are fitted and these seem to be very hard. Am still undecided if regular all-season 19 inches should be considered as there are no A/T tyres in size 19. An alternate is to lower it to 18.

What's your opinion about these steel wheels? I can probably fit BF -KO2 - 18 inches that I have. A set of 5 is available for around 60K. It's no make but good quality China/ Taiwan per the seller.

Android Auto works, so I assume it's a matter of time.

You should try setting - Ambience - Stage. I like it the most. Also, momentarily, I could see the setting for the listening position - Driver focused or for all occupants. Could not find it again- how to access?

As of now working in mine, I can change the frequencies as well level of the subwoofer. Hope it stays that way.

Congratulations. Everest White looks fab. I quite like those steel wheels. Will be a nice contrast to the white colour.

Welcome to the Thar club. Wish you many happy miles.

Which variant did you get BTW?

Thank you for your suggestion. Yes, they are a part of the official accessories. Other than the mud flaps, and maybe the parcel tray, I do not think anything else is worth it.

For me, this came up under the sound field position option. However, I can't seem to see this option on your screen.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Apparently one wouldn't need dashcam if Thar ROXX comes with 360 degree cameras, as it would auto record and even emergency record.

Neat feature.

Some more interesting videos on same channel for Thar ROXX, do go through if anyone has doubts.

I think I found the issue. Official Roxx catalogue has 3 mats - Plain, Printed and 7D. For the first two there are two variants in the catalog itself - AT and MT variants but for 7D it seems Mahindra doesn't have AT variant and hence they fit the way they do in your Pic.

As an example, this is how the aftermarket 7D mats fits in ROXX.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Hi everyone, can someone explain how the booking amount of Rs 21,000 is adjusted? My Thar Roxx was delivered 15 days ago, dealer took the full price, but the booking amount hasn't been refunded to my account yet.

There are AT specific 7D floormats. Maybe the fitting could have been done better?

Guys - are AX7 RWD AT Diesel deliveries taking longest? Looking to book this week, but cannot wait more than 6 months.
