Thanks, I have been advised that MRF tyres side profile is soft and if comfort is the objective then I should stick with stock. I will probably use the car for a while and then decide.

Thanks, will go through your thread. Some of the additions you did look pretty useful.

Our's is AXL7 - AT 4WD.

Any pointers toward something like this?

Yes, and are pretty decent grip for the speeds the vehicle is comfortable at. Just double check the tyre pressure setting when cold. Sometimes the dealers jack up the pressure and mess up the ride.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

To everyone who has booked the MX3 P AT, has there been any update on the allotment yet? My dealer mentioned that they are only receiving the Diesel ones in the MX3. Is anyone else hearing the same?

It is expected that the MX3 P AT is extremely VFM, and Mahindra is holding back dispatches, possibly until the price hike!

I am getting my Roxx tomorrow. My plan is to fit the alloys and drop it for Ceramic coating.

My service advisor told me that Koncept recieved 3 MX3 PAT yesterday. Mine happened to be one of the 3.

Lucky you and congratulations!! My MX3 P AT booking is also with Koncept Gurugram and I haven't had any update. Do you know which colours these are? I think yours is Stealth Black. Also what is your estimated delivery date from Mahindra just to assess whether these are coming within the committed timelines.

I recently got delivery of my XUV 700. I paid (total amount - booking amount) just before RTO registration. You can even ask dealer to adjust the amount in accessories.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Got my MX3 P AT allocated as well. Car is in transit and lease formalities going on now. Hope to have the vehicle in a few days!

It is a super VFM variant, almost seems like Mahindra asked themselves what are all the features that someone needs, in order to have a comfortable, convenient, safe, fast drive and yet pay no more than 15 lakhs ex-showroom - then pulled all of these features and nothing more, into one single variant and priced it at 14.99, without any regard to the prices of variants sitting above and below. I expect a significant price jump on this variant very soon.

By lease, do you mean company lease policy? Would the car be in your name or the company's name? If the latter, I guess there was no issue was the booking person was you but the car would be in the company's name.

Thanks.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Hello Sirs,

Would you recommend the Thar ROXX as the primary car. I live in Mumbai , will be using it for office commute daily and weekend long drives with family (wife+kid). I am looking at AX5 variant. Diesel +AT preferred

Was earlier considering 3XO (D) top variant , but its an AMT so skipped , on the other hand XUV AX 5 is also close by but misses out on ADAS features and has plastic dash, armrest etc.

The AX5L of the Thar also has hard scratchy plastic dash and door cards. Only the AX7L has the soft touch leather interior.

If you can make the budget stretch of 1.5L extra for going from AX5L to AX7L, then the additional 360 cam, soft touch interior, pano sunroof, ventilated seats are worth the 1.5L.

And while the new Thar is an extremly well packaged car, it still wont match the creta or seltos with their IVT or D-AT configs in bumper to bumper city traffic. If you are yound and live with the typical BOF Thar type ride then the car is worh it as a primary car and city car both.

Would recommend an extensive city test drive before you pull the trigger.

If you can live the 350-400km range and charging hassle plus having an EV as primary car, then the new BE 6e shoudl also be considered. 19L ex-shrm starting and a mid spec should be around the same as AX5L D AT on road mumbai. Even the base spec at 19L ex-shrm will be loaded.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

To fellow BHPians who are about to get the delivery of Thar Roxx, please do your due diligence if you are opting for 7D mats. The fitting of these mats is so poor in front row that I was convinced they had put in the mats of some other car model. I forced them to recheck but they were indeed for the my car model only (AX5L DAT). On driver side, mats cover the dead pedal partially and it curls awkwardly. On passenger side, the mat position is misaligned by design if you slot it in using the mat anchor. It also curls at the wrong positions and looks very filthy.

No issue with back row & boot but definitely not worth 9K-10K.
