At 1.5 Lakhs price difference, upgrading to AX7L from AX5L makes sense. In Kerala the price difference is around 2.85 Lakhs between the AX5L and AX7L D AT.

At so much difference whether it makes sense for the additional features ? I'm not convinced.

Thar 5D is a Heart purchase not a head purchase, makes literally no sense from practical stand point of you compare it to any vehicle in its segment.

Off road purpose 3D is still better equipped and modifiable
City purpose Hyundai Steltos takes the cake.

All rounder ScorpioN with 3rd Row and much more space everywhere.

As far as 1.5L jump is concerned between Ax5 and Ax7, why I opted for Ax5 4x4 over Ax7 4x4(atleast for now) was as following
1) Not an Audiophile but need utilitarian space. Ax7 has no usable door pockets.
2) Already having Panoramic in Safari, wanted a smaller one, though I love the Pano. As it is much more safe when travelling to Uttrakhand and Himachal where rocks tumble onto the road.
3) Absence of subwoofer gives more space in boot, again like I said utilitarian space.
4) RC cost difference saving would allow for few modifications

Hey.. I am glad someone's as excited about this car as I am. I just got done with most of the accessories - alloys, dashcam, mats, tpms etc and I am dropping off my car at Lords of Detailing for Ceramic Coating. I'll get my car on Friday and I'll make a detailed post about my experiences, pricing, etc.
I am not great with taking pics but here is one.

Hi there, many congratulations!! Would you mind sharing the cost of alloys and the source ? Also, which mats and tpms did you go for ? Lastly, cost of coating ? Sorry for so many questions 😊.
Mine is expected any day now. So, this info. will be immensely helpful. Thanks in advance.

That's true. Local taxes will play a big role in deciding if stretching budget for the higher variants is possible. In Ahmedabad, where I live, the difference between the AX5L and AX7L is only 1.66 Lakh on-road. Just 16k more than the ex-shrm difference.

But at that 2.85 Lakh difference, the additional gains of the AX7L are hard to justify.

P.S. I feel lucky top be living in Ahmedabad. Cant believe that for the price of an AX7L in Ahmedabad is cheaper than that of an AX5L in Kerala on-road.

Congratulations again!! I reckon you are the first MX3 P AT owner in this forum. Looks fab and one cannot say this is MX3 after you have changed the alloys, however, I thought you were going to put the alloys of Thar 3D? Look forward the details you will share......enjoy!!

Congrats on your new purchase. Looking forward to read more on your experiences.

Few inquisitive queries:

1. Do you feel lack of acoustic windshield in MX3 is noticeable in overall in cabin experience while driving?
2. Are you planning to upgrade to new seat covers? MX3 comes with black fabrics with airbags, so is upgrading to aftermarket seat covers is a compromise with safety?
3. How would you rate sound of the 4 speaker set in MX3?
4. How good are the mud flap accessory, I read somewhere in this thread that they are a poor fit. Any misfit would not only defeat it's purpose but would also be an eyesore as well.

I booked MX3 PAT myself but in white and is waiting on further update from either M&M or their dealership. My delivery dates are Feb-Mar2025. So any piece of information would really appreciated.

TIA.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

The SV (surround view) settings does feature all dashcam features. There is recording, emergency recording etc but it asks for an SD card. Does anyone know where the slot is? The company guy said it can only be done at workshop and everything will require opening as it's internal. Any one has any experience with this?

I got the SD card installed at the service centre yesterday. The slot is located somewhere around the front passenger footwell area. Installing it didn’t require opening of any panels; maybe ask your guy to reconfirm where it’s installed.

Congratulations!

What mats did you pick up finally, and the same for alloys? Your stocks must be 18 inches. do share what you did with those and the tyres you picked. Although I have been advised to stick with stocks, I am itching to get these changed.

Thanks for the info. What is the maximum SD card storage capacity it allows? How is the quality of recording? Is it possible to share few screenshots?

Could it be a replacement for the aftermarket dashcams?

I actually dropped my plan of buying a proper dashcam after learning it has DVR inbuilt. It is not a replacement exactly but should serve the purpose in case of an emergency. I can’t send screenshots because there is no way to take the footage from the SD card without removing it. I don’t think clicking pictures from the phone will give you a clear idea.

Official advisory from Mahindra says that it supports 32GB cards, so that’s what I bought. Recording quality is what you see from the 4 cameras across the car. One thing to note is that all 4 cameras record a fish-eye perspective; the footage isn’t cropped.

These are my favourite alloys, Fuel Vector. I think they are available only in 9J width. Do post pictures and experience after you change the wheels.
