Change of manufacturing Year, probably. Mahindra can produce the cars with 2025 production VIN and invoice in the first week to the dealers. Most of the customers want a newer manufacturing year.

I think we should also move to the Model Year concept. It's a better reflection of the Model than a manufacturing year.

Mahindra slows down manufacturing sometime from late November or December to prevent inventory pile up. If I remember, registration data in Parivahaan site shows only registration date and not manufacturing year.

Zomato's warehouse in Hyderabad were checked couple of months back where food item with future manufacturing date (1 advance day) were found. It was clarified that the labels were due to printing error, so the allegations were later dismissed.

Isn't it unethical to stamp 2025 VIN on a car that was manufactured in late December 2024?

Most people will ask for the Manufacturing Year at the time of sales/ purchase. Authorities go with the registration date.

Because Food and similar items have an expiry date.

Well, they can affix the Mahindra badge or any other component before stamping the 2025 VIN, even the VIN sticker being fixed in 2025 is technically, completion of the assembly

There’s nothing wrong with this approach. Most of the car’s components will likely be from a month or two earlier, in January. It's psychological, Year or manufacture and that's why Model Year is more relevant and logical.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Are there are year end offers on the Roxx petrol version anywhere in Bangalore ? Also, is it true that the Roxx does not support apple car play? That is almost a deal breaker for me personally. .

The year-end break would have been good to explore the car. After this, I feel I don't need the car for another 6 months till rains hit! And then it'll be time for Harrier EV, which is expected to have AWD! And then Scorpio will eventually catch up on all the tech too.
And that was my journey with Thar Roxx. The heart over head purchases can't be delayed like this. No call, no car allocated, nothing invoiced, 12 days into my Delivery window (which was already a very very delayed schedule for such an early booking). I wanted it before the December break, and now that the break is over, the head is taking things back from the heart. M&M did a heart break with slow/ no deliveries for the absolute top-end variant.

I have cancelled my booking.

Now I don't need a Thar for another 6 months at least, and with NCR's 10yr life limit that is good 5%.
Now I wait for other AWDs/ 4x4s, and if nothing works, I'm sure I can get a Roxx with almost ready delivery in 6 months time. Harrier EV, Sierra and e-Vitara AWDs should be interesting to watch out for.

That’s true.
For MX3, suspense over CarPlay prevails. However, for higher variants, it’ll get enabled albeit in a few weeks.

Btw, when people are fighting with M&M and dealers to get hold of their car, I wonder what makes you expect any offers on Roxx at this time !!

I am in the same boat as you. I cancelled my Thar Roxx bookings, and it took about 3 weeks to get the money back.

The first booking was with Neon Mahindra in Hyderabad. AX7L RWD AT was supposed to be delivered in first half of December 2024. No call from dealership or salesperson since 3rd October when booking was done. No answers to customer call, sales manager also not responding, official emails listed on Neon Mahindra went unanswered, reassignment of booking email also went unanswered.

How can the dealer expect me to give them business and money after such unethical behavior? Even if they gave me a car, I would not buy from this dealership.

The tentative timeline for second booking was 1.5 years later in mid of 2026. If I don't need a car now, then I won't be needing a new one 1.5 years later.

With so many delays and no clarity on delivery, mind was free to think. Eventually mind has convinced the entire body - heart as well as soulful desire, that Roxx is not what me and my family need for next 10 years of daily office run and highway family trips.

I have my delivery scheduled for Apr-May '25 and I am hoping new duster is launched before that. The reason for booking Roxx is absence of a capable AWD.
Looking at YT videos of Roxx owners I am slightly concerned about the image the vehicle is building up, people doing illegal mods/ causing trouble to fellow road users, doing '******' stunts, it's not very likeable situation.

MX3 and MX1 owners do you have any update regarding original Fog Lamp installation and Fog Lamp Switch unlock?

I saw many do it through the original switch. I think there is a workaround, as I have seen in many YouTube videos in Karolbagh.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Unusual question for the owners - are you facing issues with the key? At times, the car doesn't detect the key in the vehicle, I get a click sound when start button is pressed.

Also, while locking/unlocking, there are times when I've to press the buttons multiple times and it doesn't work from a distance exceeding 6 feet from the vehicle. What could be the issue?
