Single colour only. But the colour is little bluish. The upper variants DRL is warmer. The shop guy said that within a month same colour DRL is coming in the market.
I have done the wiring such that DRL is always on with ignition (not with park lights).
That's how I want to install as well. And I recieved similar quotes. 4600Rs for the one you have. 5500 for matrix animation LED. 7500 for the one with app and multiple colors.

Was any wires cut with this installation?

No wire cuts.
Just an additional wire for the DRL connected with any cuts to any original wiring.

This is just an edit. Before doing the actual work. I prefer to edit and decide. New wrangler has a black grill. So planning to buy similar one.

There is no reference image for Tango Red colour grill change on Youtube. So this might help people to take decision.

Reference image as below- Grill Borders in Red colour and black for the remaining part suits best IMO.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

I don't like the dashcam wires hanging around so when I came to know that the Mahindra SVM(surround view monitor) can do continuous and loop recording, I got excited.

I took a 32GB SD card with me when I went for the first service. The SD card insertion was done by the service center guy. It took less than a minute.

The SVM recording is good only if it's usable so I waited a few days for the video clips to accumulate.

On 11th Jan, while coming back to Gurugram from Delhi a cab touched the rear left of my car at Mahipalpur flyover. It was raining and there was huge traffic so I didn't stop to see the damage. It was an anxious half an hour till I reached home. Thankfully, there was no damage. That's when I realized the power of Thar.

I did look at the footage(attached). Here are my observations:

1. The only practical way you can use the footage is by recording the video playback from another device. In my case it was my phone. Taking out the SD car is very difficult.

2. All four camera footage is recorded in one frame. This makes single camera video very small. Also the video is not flattened so you get a wide angle distorted view.

3. The video quality is not very high. Adding to that you have to capture the video to another device.

4. The advantage of SVM over other dashcam is that you get footage from the sides also.

My conclusion is, the SVM recording can give you some kind of clue of what happened, which I guess is Mahindra's intention. Otherwise a dashcam is required if you want a convenient and reliable proof to produce in case of any incident .

Hi I got a Qubo 3K front and back dashcam hotwired. Its working as expected. No dangling wires all hidden. One thing I do miss on my AX5L is the 360 cam, given the size of the vehicle it is a must. Hoping to come across an after market solution at least covering a front camera. I found a lacuna, while the front parking sensors provide distance to an obstacle in centimetre which is helpful, the back parking sensors simply provide colour (green, yellow and red) and sound feedback. Is there any way to activate a feedback in centimetres front the back camera as well while reversing?

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

This happens to be my 1st post ever since getting my hands on the Roxx PL Automatic(MX3)
I got my vehicle delivered on 20th Dec & have covered some 3500kms with two trips Delhi-Lucknow (via Agra expressway)

Changed tyres from JK Ranger to Vredestein Pinza

While the FE turned out to be around 10-10.5 with speed around 110-115 the first time, in my second run - the tank returned 12.05kmpl speed around 90-95kmph.

Mahindra being Mahindra cannot escape the niggles & issues -
Issue 1: Weird beep from cluster with whole cluster flashing once (not the 80kmph / 120kmph beeps)

Issue 2: noise form the dashboard on undulated roads [tried pressing the dash from co-driver's side & the noise would stop)

Issue 3: Yet another noise [as if something loose] jumping each time the vehicle gets a little bumpy - checked glovebox, door pockets & yet difficult to figure out the noise source

Going to Mahindra won't help is what i believe, but a know mechanic (for good 25 odd years) will probably be used to rectify this petty issue.

Otherwise I am overall very satisfied with the Roxx Petrol.

FE is city: 8~8.5kmpl (lot of stop & go), however with around 170kms local commute [gurgaon~noida] managed 12kmpl (light foot)

FE in cluster vs Actual has a difference of 1kmpl approx
(eg: Cluster showed 11.6 but real FE: 10.6kmpl]

Thanks, I am also planning the same dashcam. Is it possible for you to post a photo of the dashcam on the windshield to get an indea?

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Back from a short trip.

Mahindra Thar Roxx Review-whatsapp-image-20250105-10.59.02.jpeg

I just completed a 900km trip from Mumbai to Kolhapur, and in one word, I’m impressed by the Thar Roxx's driving and handling at highway speeds. The SUV feels stable, rarely losing its composure. There's minimal bounciness, and body roll is well-contained. Nothing like monocoque mini-SUV's but more than satisfied. Though lower speeds it is jiggly.

Being an automatic, using adaptive cruise control on the Mumbai-Pune expressway was a joy. I set it to 99 kmph and only made minor steering adjustments. I occasionally went over 100, and the car felt planted, but due to its boxy shape, wind noise kicked in around 90-100 kmph. Adaptive cruise control also helps to keep those challans in check, short bursts helped me drive the car with the foot just on one pedal. The car slows down nicely to match set speed.

Bad roads were no issue at all. For those familiar with the Satara-Kolhapur stretch and its broken roads, the Thar tackled them effortlessly. It’s great how quickly it regains speed with all that power. Got first challan for doing 100kph, there was no board of 90kph limit Can this be challenged? I have been doing this road for past 10 yrs every 4-5 months, but never got fined!

Mahindra Thar Roxx Review-img_7950a56f91ef1.jpeg

I'm in love with the engine and gearbox tuning. However, since it’s not tuned for efficiency, I got around 13-15 kmpl on the highway while maintaining 100-120 kmph, though I had short bursts over that too and this was with the 4x4 AT variant. The built-in maps surprised me—I ended up using them for the entire drive instead of Android Auto. Jio Saavn and Alexa handled music duties. A small drawback is that the GPS signal tends to drop quickly randomly.

One thing I’ve noticed is that the car gets warmer inside than others, likely due to its glasshouse. ACC has to be kept slightly higher than usual. I might consider adding some light tints to reduce heat.

Lastly, the AdrenoX app showed some finicky data, like reporting a 400km trip being done in 2.15 hours, which is inaccurate. It only recorded the time from my last restart after a short break.

I also noticed that some of the early Thar Roxx Automatics have an “Automatic” badge on the tailgate, but mine doesn’t. Any other owners notice this?

Do check wheel alignment and balancing, I had a similar issue and it went after I got the camber adjusted.

Heard about Pinza first time! How is this better than other ATs such as Geolandar G015 & Apollo Apterra AT? I am planning to get Geolandar done on same variant.

Also did you get any alloys installed? And did Mahindra service center fail to rectify noise issues during the first service?
