So this is the non-sunroof version that comes with black fabric seats right? Is the roofliner also black or is it white ? Could you post a few interior pics ?

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Just got done with my first service of Thar Roxx. This time I unfortunately decided to visit Koncept Mahindras Sec 18 service center instead of Sec 37 Gurgaon that I have been visiting since last 3yrs for my 3D Thar.

I arrived at 10am was told the service will take upto 3hrs. I ended up waiting for over 6hrs and absolutely nothing of importance was done. My seat belt and ac vent were to be replaced but after waiting for 6hrs I was told they don't have the parts. Anyways, lesson learnt, next time I won't experiment with the service centers and will call ahead for the parts.

On a separate note, I replaced the rim of the rear wheel in my MX3 and it looks delightful.

What a coincidence !

I have same coloured, same variant of the same vehicle as you !!
I got its 1st service today, like you !!!
I also went to a Koncept service center, like you !!!!
And I too had to bear the similar pain of waiting for approx 5 hours, closer to the pain you had !!!!!
Just that your and my selected service location is approx 50 kms apart (I went to noida sector-2).

Btw, this painful wait was when I reached their location at 9.10am and my car was 2nd in line, and on top of everything, we all know what do they do in 1st service.

I acknowledge that they told me right at the start that due to some infotainment s/w update, it’ll take time. Yet, 5 hrs or 6 hrs for you is not justified. I timed the s/w update they did and it took just about 20 mins and there’s neither perceivable improvement in the quality of infotainment system, nor any new feature that got added.

Btw, how much did you shell on alloys ? I was planning to flip roxx for xev/be, so didn’t get alloys but after test driving xev 9e today, I think I’ll keep roxx for some time and wait for other vehicles.

Xevis a great vehicle but somehow, I felt happier getting back into roxx after driving xev because xev didn’t give that feel of a suv.

OMG. Lmao. At one point I was thinking if I am the only person wasting his Saturday instead of having nice brunch. I guess I wasn't.

I spent about 47000 for all 5 alloys which were in absolute mint condition. Although price may vary from 42000-60000 depending on where you procure yours and in what condition. Mayapuri will be cheaper. I got mine from Mili Tyre Centre in Karol Bagh.

What's the updated version? I am having clarity issues on most radio stations. Does anyone else face the same? Any known fix?

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

When Roxx was first unveiled, the general consensus was that Mahindra can’t seem to get the grill design right. Now after months of launch and availability of aftermarket options, I still don’t see many owners opting for them like they did for Thar 3D. Even the owners who are going for crazy modifications are somehow skipping the grill replacement. Am I missing something here? Although the new 2024 wrangler style grill is picking up popularity.

Design is as always, subjective. While I'm not the biggest fan of the grille, I don't mind it too much. This is also more so the case with darker colours where the grille isn't prominent at all. For some reason, I don't get the appeal behind making the thar look like a wrangler. In my eyes, its the same as trying to get a Gurkha to look like a G Wagon But to each their own XD

On a separate not, the SA at sireesh auto BLR told me that production for the 2025 Thar Roxx hasn't begun yet and he isn't sure when it will begin. Does anyone else here have any information on this front?

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

I seek some advice regarding Thar ROXX. I am getting delivery of MX5 RWD this week and planning to change the tires and do some aftermarket works immediately, so I'm researching for that. Thanking all in advance.
  1. Observation/feedback about the road behavior (noise, vibration and fuel efficiency) of MRF Wanderer AT vs CEAT Crossdrive AT? Also, if anyone has got any other brand tire of same spec (255x65xR18) installed in ROXX, please share experience.
  2. Does the TPMS works fine after the change of tires? is there any specific issue to look forward while they reinstall the TPMS sensor?
  3. Between getting Graphene coating and PPF, which one would be better?
If anyone is from Mysore, where I am from, could you please suggest a good accessory shop/installer?

Hi, Why don't you drive down to Bangalore. You will find more accessories shops in Bangalore.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Posting after quite some time.
Haven't got the chance to drive my Roxx that much, due to year end vacations and then the work pressure at the beginning of the year.

One thing that I didn't expect and that's why maybe it's very impressive to me, is the agility of the car in city traffic. I find it very comfortable to drive in tight spaces, sharp turns, tight u turns etc. The steering is so light and responsive, the car doesn't feel chunky / wonky at all.

This was the main reason and which sealed the deal for me, it is super easy to maneuver and rarely I need the 360 degree cam.
The car is huge but doesn't feel huge!
Also special mention to the auto transmission and engine refinement. Both just go hand in hand. Other cars I test drove lacked the refinement of the engine and gearbox.

Thanks, but for tire change, I would like to get it done immediately after delivery, so that the tires remain almost new. Hence, I am looking for a good dealer in Mysore.

After you finalize on the dealer, ask them if they can bring the new tires to the Mahindra showroom and replace the tires and take the company-fitted tires. I had asked a dealer in Bangalore and they agreed to do this, but I changed my mind and did not change the tires.
