The dealerships covered seats with thin white cloth to prevent seat stains as everyone started pointing at seat stains after first couple of days.

What is the current odometer reading?
What is the serial number printed above the glove box on left hand inside?

The dirty interior could be due to one of following
- Used by some reviewer
- The cars typically are moved back and forth at the stockyards to make room or take out a car, so it is possible that someone with dirty hands moved the car and then tried to clean the seat resulting in spreading the stain even more.
- The car was used as display car for some time and hence plastic cover on seats is absent and seats are dirty
The ODO reading is 60 KM, which seems slightly high for a car that was in the stockyard only 4 KM away from the showroom.

I noticed different stickers showing 26th September as the date for QC or installation, so it seems the car has been with the dealership for no more than 8–10 days. However, it has definitely been used or handled roughly.

I suspect they may have used it for display. The dealership has had an MX5 variant in black on display since day one, and they already have four test drive vehicles.

I also checked 2 other cars, had similar dirt marks all around the interior.

I was literally frustrated seeing the car in this condition. I just didn’t feel like completing the PDI and ended up missing to note the serial number.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

I think you should just take the car. The white interiors will develop these stains very quickly. Up to 100KM ODO reading at the time of delivery is acceptable as the dealership is also supposed to do a road test prior to delivery with many manufacturers. If you turn it down, you may go tot the bottom of the pile and maybe not get the car for years.

I think it's the case with most Mahindra cars. When I got my Thar the Odometer read 60kms.

As for waiting for something that hasn't been announced you might be looking anywhere between 6-8 months for the mocha brown interiors in the RWD variants.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Earlier today, I couldn’t find time to upload some of the pictures I took during the PDI. Here are the key ones that really made me question the car’s condition.

Mahindra Thar Roxx Review-whatsapp-image-20241018-15.23.33.jpeg
There was no satisfactory explanation provided for these marks. I can’t understand why anyone would end up touching this panel so much at the stockyard.

Mahindra Thar Roxx Review-whatsapp-image-20241018-23.37.54-1.jpeg
It’s not clearly visible, but the plastic ring around the speaker had stains all over it.

Mahindra Thar Roxx Review-whatsapp-image-20241018-23.37.55.jpeg

Marks like these were all over the roof, and the edges of the sunroof had similar ones.

This was enough to raise doubts in my mind, and I’ve decided to reject this specific vehicle and wait for the next allotment. As some members rightly said, this might push me further down the list, but I’m in no rush and can wait another 4–6 months. This will be my second car anyway, as I currently own a 9-year-old Ciaz and plan to keep the Roxx for years to come.

Thank you, everyone, for patiently bearing with my frustration throughout the day and for all your input and support.

While there is no good explanation for removing seat coverings etc. but there is one plausible explanation. The car was left open/ window or sunroof, that soiled the plastics, prompting them to remove. I say this because the marks on the B pillar are clearly not hands but typical of when dust/ pollution attaches in gaps through the static plastic covering.

If this is all, just let them clean it, unless of course, you don't want white anymore.

Just see more physical things like no underbody damage or usage signs + body repainting hints + all electronics and mechanicals working.

AND that is why I don't like this buyer PDI concept before its ready of delivery, they keep it in a mess, I don't want to see it.

I even hate giving cars for service, they never handle it well.

The stealth / federal-ish look its giving in black with black steelies surely looks intimidating (unlike scorpio n which imho needs to have alloys -of any type,in order to maintain the its look),if any forum member would’ve got this spec then it would surely be among the most talked about post in the ‘Cars that look awesome with steelies thread’.

I have seen many brand new Mahindra cars sit in the yard with a couple of windows rolled down when I went to check out the Roxx before it reached the showrooms (Gave my Thar for service and took a friendly stroll in their yard ).

Apart from the dirty interiors if everything else checks out right, just get the car. There will never be one in perfect condition waiting for you.

Roxx can't fullfill your requirements for sure. XUV or Innovas can only do the justice in the ride quality experience. Rear seat ride in ROXX can be giddiness inducing experience in unpaved, potholed and ghat roads, atleast under less occupants and under 50-60kmph speed. But a long test drive only can help you whether you are ok with it.

If the rear passenger comfort is paramount, I'd suggest you stay away from the Roxx. Thar Roxx can handle no roads and broken patches better, but your regular potholes, speed bumps, expansion joints and high speed stability is going to be miles better in the XUV 700.

Roxx isn't a people carrier just because it has seating for 5.

Thank you, but this experience has left a bad taste regarding white interiors altogether. Whenever in doubt, I like to slow things down. I have asked the sales associate to either provide me with another vehicle or I will wait for the next allocation.

Precisely, my worry is not just about this one instance but about the future as well. I am sure that, as owners, we will be cautious all year round about maintaining these white interiors, and it will take just one visit to the Mahindra workshop to spoil everything.

I had these thoughts even before booking, but I was ready to take a chance—probably out of excitement and love for the Thar. Since I am in no rush, I’m willing to give the benefit of the doubt and wait for some time before taking another shot at it. I completely agree that there may never be perfect conditions, but hopefully, I can at least regain the excitement and positive vibes.

During my PDI, I made an interesting observation about the digital MID. After starting the car, the brightness would drop to a level where the different dials and text were not readable in a natural driving position. It was visible but kind of faint, similar to how mobile screens sometimes adjust their brightness settings in bright light.I thought it could be a glitch, so I restarted the car and noticed the same behavior. It was 2 PM, so the bright sunlight outside could be another contributing factor.

I will check this again during my next visit to the showroom, but I’m curious to know if anyone else has noticed this or if I am missing something.

I also had this issue during the test drive. It was pretty bright outside. The sales staff was not able to explain the reason.

You are right, I couldn't see much either, but assumed it to be a brightness adjustment or headlight on-off issue, which I wasn't willing to play with at that time.

As per my SA, only diesels are being delivered. Anyone who booked a petrol has received allocation?

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

May have been discussed earlier, but is the Rox compatible with bio-diesel or ethanol blended diesel?
