This could be most likely due to the treading of AT tyres. The monocoque SUV's have regular tyres. Maybe the experts can add to this.

You also need to keep an eye on tyre pressures. Most of the test drives i have done, the tires were highly over inflated and going as high as 45PSI !

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

All these delivery delays just go to show how vital it is to wait for a year at least for a new model to settle down. People are thronging to the showrooms like it's a Black Friday sale- wouldn't it be wiser to wait for the company to firm up production, sort out initial niggles and then get a good quality product at a time of your choosing? Unless it's an emergency purchase where you currently don't have a working car, this makes no sense to me.

No idea why this delay exists - but I really hope that Mahindra does not increase the prices before deliveries for those begin
I don't think so, my dealer offered me AX7L 4x4, but I declined as I had originally booked for mocha interior.

Surely the situation does not inspire confidence! and they are clearly struggling to manage this.

As far as emergency purchase is concerned, it is very similar to buying a new phone or another goodie. Its a toy in some sense, very few 'need' a 4x4 thar and most will never ever need it, its a 'want' and that is 'now'.

At least for me, if I don't get it in reasonable time, I may not ever want it, because I never actually needed it! That's all the hurry about! Can't hold an impulsive purchase for months of waiting!

There’s no clear timeline for this; it’s just an undocumented best practice to wait for new launches of Tata and Mahindra vehicles. Don’t we still hear about issues in three-year-old XUV700s or Scorpios, for that matter?

Additionally, there may be very few Roxx purchases that are logical and well thought out; most others, myself included, are going with their heart over their head

Since you don't don't have the excitement towards Thar anymore, why can't you take the family for a test drive on a Scorpio N (if you like it)?

Scorpio N also got great road presence with better ride and handling compared to Thar. It also got similar performance and have 4x4.

+9000; Its the same with me.

I've a 5000 km road trip planned for as soon as I get the car.
The only reason I'm buying this over anything else is for the ruggedness of the vehicle, it can take the beating and then some and easily accommodate me and my plus one for a month long road trip and many more that will follow.

This allotment and delivery fiasco has pushed me to the edge. If I don't get it in reasonable time, I may not ever want it.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

A few of you lucky ones seem to be at the cusp of getting your Roxxs. Please get them fast, share some pics so those who are still waiting cluelessly are distracted in a good way and hopefully a few days will pass unknowingly (I should say easily) until we reach the 25th Oct (or 30th Oct).

Of course we do- nothing in life is perfect. But by allowing both yourself and the manufacturer a little time and breathing space, we can reduce the number of unwanted surprises and unpredictability we face with respect to both delivery timelines and product issues. It's a game of probability after all.

And as for those of you saying you can purchase a 25L rupee SUV as an impulsive "want and not need" purchase, I applaud you and congratulate you for being in such an enviable position in life. Most people agonize and decide their vehicles over a period of many months after thinking about multiple factors, so to drop that kind of money on an impulse- that's really something.

That is great to hear, gives me hope as well - the source may have been incorrect

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Took delivery of the roxx yesterday (22/10/2024)
Nebula Blue MX5 MT P

Had a great experience.
Was provided with a cup, choclates, microfiber, leather folio and a leather key ring (was not expecting)

Have driven 100kms and so far I didnt seem to find any niggles or issues.
Two things to point out :-
1. Apple car play is promised after 2/3 months
2. Rear left tire was at 42 Psi so had to air it down.

Adequate plastic protection films are placed everywhere to protect the interior but it is reallly easy to stain it in our hot and humid country.
Even a sweaty elbow leaves a mark everywhere.

Quite impressed by the fit and the finish of the car and even the acessories and a worth at what they cost.

Delivery was very smooth no issues.

Uploading some pics.

I agree. My hope with the Roxx is that it has likely undergone the most testing—over two years—compared to earlier launches by Mahindra. Additionally, there is a good amount of part-sharing with the 3-door Thar and Scorpio N, so most issues should already be ironed out. If any niggles remain, they will likely be minor ones and shouldn’t leave anyone stranded.

I think many people have waited for a 5 door THAR for years now, since the launch of the 3D version. So it's probable they don't want to wait for another 2 years to get their hands on it.
