I second that, but we still went with Mx3 because I don’t want stock 18 inch alloys. My uncle is against leatherette seats because of the heat it generates. And sunroof is not required for him.

We also wanted to use the 1 lakh budget on alloy wheels to get unique look and on other accessories in aftermarket. We currently liked a design from one company. But don’t know the quality of the company.

Please share the performance and mileage of your ROXX as it has the 150 BHP with 330 NM torque.
Current drove till Srisailam which is 200 + kms from Hyderabad with 5 healthy adults on board. Never felt underpowered even on Ghat sections.

Attached a picture captured in Srisailam!

It would be an oversight if the toggle switch didn’t move upward. If it does, you can toggle up to ZOOM mode.

At least the order should've started from ZIP. Mahindra and their Quirks

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Many of us have heard the Harman Kardon music system of the AX7L in test drive cars, it is pretty decent.

But we don't have any reviews of music system, sound quality of speakers of lower variants. The owners of MX5, AX5 should shed some light.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Seems bookers have to intimate their dealers about the delivery timelines communicated by M&M! Else there is every chance of the booking being superseded for the next person in line.

Is this normal? First time booked a M&M, hence no experience with them at all.

But there is lot of wind noise at 90-100 speeds which is similar to Thar 3D. May be lack of acoustic windshield in Mx3 version resulted this.
Congratulations

I am currently driving AX5L and the speaker system sounds pretty ordinary. My 11 year old Ecosport has vastly better sound system. It's a relief to hear that Harman Kardon is only marginally better. I thought I was missing something.

AX5L has acoustic windshield. I drove around 300 km this Sunday. Noise dramatically increases after 90 kmph speed. After a while, you can almost detect vehicle is crossing 90-100 just by noise alone.

It does look like an incredible flaw in the suspension design, there is another video from a different roxx with the same issue. will have to see more real world results.

Even the wireless Apple Car Play is functional in the unit I am driving (AX5L).

How can the dealer not be aware of online or offline bookings that are associated with that showroom?

M&M is communicating tentative delivery timeline with customer and the dealer not knowing anything about the delivery seems to be impossible.

My assumption is that the car lying in factory stockyard is first billed to dealer, the car would be associated to some booking (for new M&M car launches), dispatched to the dealer with tentative delivery timeline and finally received by the dealer in their stockyard. The dealer is aware of which cars they will get as the billing was already done before dispatch process starts. This is based on my previous car booking as salesperson was in touch with me and started sharing details like VIN number when the car was billed to them.

Can you share infotainment software version in your AX5L as it will help current and future owners to see which version onwards is Apple Car Play enabled?

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

I have been researching TBHP for this and XUV500s were notorious for premature rusting, I was wondering if anyone on here knew if M&M was now using galvanised steel or still using non-galvanised steel.

Excerpt from an Australian article:
"The export XUV500 is also made using galvanised steel imported from South Korea, while the local version makes do with Indian-made non-galvanised steel."

Are you sure it is apple car play that is functional and not android auto? I don't have a reason to doubt your observation since you are using the functionality but considering that Mahindra has not announced carplay as a software update yet and others are not having it, I want to be double sure.

Hi @hemmmer
Is the wind noise very annoying above 100kmph ? If you get good roads where you would have generally cruised at 100-120kmhp in other cars, does driving Roxx bother you so much with wind noise ?

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Finally drove 700 kms in 2 days. Everyone felt comfortable throughout the journey.

Fuel efficiency I got is 10.5 KMPL. Due to small tank. Had to refill at 490 kms after filling the tank to full. This might increase if we drive in 4 lane highway. But maximum range we can expect on a full tank is 600 kms as the tank capacity is only 55.

~118 KMPH comes around 2k RPM.

Bought new alloys from Ashoka Tyres. Paid 60k for 4 alloys. Offset is around 1.5” inches.

The wheels look amazing! The 1.5" offset is due to a wider tyre than the stock ones?
