Finally after much deliberation I decided to postpone any new vehicle purchase as most dealers busy with festive customers.
In long run such attitude will backfire on company.
Hyundai sales for anything beyond Creta gets lukewarm response based on my experience in past 5 years. I assume the showrooms you talked to either do not have a test drive car available or are meeting their sales target with Creta sales and hence not inclined towards Alcazar sales. It could be lethargic salesperson who was not willing to put any effort in Alcazar sale.

Only few showrooms have Alcazar available for test drive in Hyderabad. One showroom was giving me test drive of 2.0 NA petrol manual which has long been discontinued saying the drive experience will be similar. This is when I realized the salesperson did not have a clue on Alcazar and this showroom does not invest in Alcazar sale. I had to call 4-5 showrooms of 3 different dealerships to find one showroom that was interested in sale and provide test drive.

If you like the car, you can try calling main branch of the dealerships in your city for test car availability. If you like the car, then my suggestion is to not give up. Alcazar is new launch with no discounts on offer. I feel there will be some discounts on MY24 Alcazar once we roll into calendar year 2025.

The showroom guys stated that it is to save weight, but is it actually true? Diesel cars are so frugal, will a few kgs, really make a difference. I was trying to find the real reason and after a few minutes of discussion, he opened up and shared that there is a possible chance of Hyundai discontinuing Diesel engines from its complete line up.
Actually very similar input I got in BLR from showroom manager.
- Hyundai do not plan to bring sunroof in Diesel in future
- They want to promote only petrol with Turbo
- Due to CAFE norms they are doubtful about diesel future.
- Showrooms are desperately waiting for Creta EV. Although launch is planned for Q1 2025 but info/buzz will be releases in Nov/Dec.

At what price point they are launching the Creta EV? I'm hoping that the starting price will be at 25L and ends at 30L considering that present Creta costs close to 25L (Diesel AT top variant).

If they price it below 20L, it will be cake walk for customers, who are willing to buy Creta EV.

I read somewhere in news article that one of the Hyundai bosses told - EV price would be similar to Top end Creta. But only time will tell.
Major benefit with Creta EV will be the GST rate of 5% which for ICE version is 45% and accounts for almost half of the vehicle cost. This difference should be able to cover the access battery cost.
We need to see how greedy Hyundai wants to be with Creta EV.

Thanks for sharing

Coming to the Creta EV , I hope they are able to put the pricing around ZS EV, but now that Windsor EV is undercutting most of the EV cars in the market, I doubt if Creta EV can do any magic sales numbers.

Re: 2024 Hyundai Alcazar Facelift Review

Checked the Alcazar today.

Overall, we liked the car, but the central console was making squeaking noises and that was a deal breaker for me. Even the cabin on test ride car, which was of older generation, was producing noise from all dimensions, was enough to stop us from booking the car.

Here is my question to the current owners of both generations - does it produces noise when you drive, especially on rough roads and undulations?

I have driven around 1000 Kms but not yet observed any noise from front console dash doors or anywhere in the car.

It seems you took older generation model test drive. Even we were utterly disappointed with test drive of older generation. That was before facelift was launched.

However, facelift addresses most of the issue with cabin quality including look & feel as well as middle row space. The squeaky noise, when your left leg touch the panel near gear box, is still present. Overall we liked Alcazar enough to ignore this squeaky noise issue which only happens if left knee touches the panel, which is occasional if not rare. Have booked Signature DCT. Hopefully will get the delivery in November

Update:
Went on a highway drive of 50-ish kms. Was driving in Normal mode at around 80-85kph.
MID showed 17.6kpl, on a longer drive I m sure it will touch 18+ or even more.
Next will try the thankful method to ascertain.

I will tell you the truth. The squeaky noise is present but only if there is a tall passenger who rests his knees on the console. My wife sits on passenger side and it never makes the sound but when my tall friends sit it does. Even in these cases if passenger is sitting alone he pushes the seat back and then his knees are not resting on console but when someone else is sitting behind him the he has to keep the seat pulled up and then he might rest on console. Without that it never squaks.

Re: 2024 Hyundai Alcazar Facelift Review

BTW, I bought Alcazar Signature DCT 6 seater on last day of Navratra. Did ceramic coating and have been loving the car since then.
There are few things in favour and against the car.

Pros:
  • Good Silent engine
  • Great cushioning on all seats
  • 8 way powered passenger and driver seats
  • Great sound quality from Bose speakers
  • Doesn't feel huge in driving, very manageable
  • Cameras and blind view monitors work great
  • Steering is great
  • Mileage is fair with 9 kmpl in slightly bad traffic and 10 kmpl in light traffic

Cons:
  • Bad paint quality, lot of orange peel
  • Cost cutting like ambient light is now single color
  • Window buttons of all passengers not illuminated.
  • No powered tail gate
  • Litlle squeaky console
  • Less use of soft leather
  • Not so enthusiastic as my diesel Ecosport (I know that will be a con in all cars)

This is bit concerning. Especially on a new car. Can you please help share pics of areas where you notice this Orange peel phenomenon.

I have seen this as well on new dark Alcazar and Creta. It looks quite cheap and fragile.

Is there a specific part where peeling is observed? I have Alcazar DCT booked. But if paint peeling is so apparent, I would like to reconsider my decision.

A pic, if possible, for reference would help.

Unfortunately, yes - when your or the front passenger's knee touches the console, and that happens a lot! Drive it on hilly terrains/ghats with winding roads/through sharp turns/rough roads and undulations (where your knee inevitably makes a contact with the console) and you will experience it as the first thing. It's just incredibly irritating and embarrassing in front of others. Our 2021 Creta doesn't creak as much now after Hyundai addressed the issue through a fix. However, another Creta (2020 DCT) in our extended family creaks oh-so-badly! This was one of the primary reasons that we rejected the FL Creta. After spending so much, the last thing you want is that cheap plastic making creaking noise every time your knee touches the console.
