Not new bumper/grill. They will only paint it. Mind you this is the cost mentioned by the service advisor, a few bucks + or - and only in Bangalore.

Just wanted to know from anybody . if some one has done similar job of painting the grills black in their GP's

Also he is ready to to trade or exchange his grill with any active or dynamic puntos . if anybody is interested let me know
IMO the silver grill looks better than the black one. I'm not suggesting your friend to not paint the grill, but rather give it time and you'll soon realize that the silver one looks more elegant. I too wanted to paint the grill black for my punto, but i waited and every now and then i'd see a red dynamic punto and realize that mine is better.

Note from Mod : Please continue the Punto Sport discussion over on the new thread.

This thread is only to discuss the two variants that I've test-driven.

yes, black grill looks sexy on the red car.

i guess buying a new BLACK one will be cheaper.
Usually new grills cost less than Rs.1.5K.

At 2:30, I received a call from FIAT Italy. This was regarding the ownership feedback after 3 months of purchase. The interviewer went through all parts - exterior, interior, handling, driving pleasure, service feedback. He was writing down my points. It was for around 1/2 hour. I briefed him about the issues which I faced to which he said he will get in touch in due course. He also asked me if the call can be recorded for future assessment. I was surprised as he asked me about :

1. Bonnet/door lock/latch breaking
2. Rattling noise from seats
3. Seat height adjustment
4. Interior fit and finish
5. BluenMe controls and working

If you notice these are few of the issues Punto owners have reported in the past. I hope they will act on the feedback they are getting from the owners.

I had the call as well but over 1.5 months ago. Call lasted for 1/2 hour, went through in detail about the sales, car specifics and after sales. Glad they are now asking pointed questions around some of the issues always being discussed. If they can act upon these in time, Fiat ought to be successful this time around.

^^ Very good sign indeed. Heartening to know that this data percolates through to the headquarters.

Guys did anyone of you see a difference in mileage after first servicing? Mine avg consumption before servicing was 15.9Km/lt. Now its showing 17.9Km/lt. Still to cross 3K mark.
Mine is MJD E pack. Driving style has not changed much.
Fuel all the way is Shell normal diesel only.

This mileage is as per the MID display. Although tank to tank method gives more accurate results but MID also gives almost similar mileage. Will do tank to tank filling calculation also later and post it.

Hi,

Mine is 500 Kmts and a week old Punto MJD E+, MID shows 13.5-13.8 Kmts/ltr ACC on 100 %. This is 100% city driving, I could see it is improving every day, when I got it was 65 Kmts on ODO and 6.5/kmts on MID!! and a trip to Nandi hills next day took it all the way to 13.4 . I hope it will settle at 16.XX .

The 1.3 MJD has been efficient quite consistently. I say that in comparison to the 1.4 TDCi implementation in the Figo, where the Figo owners are reporting lower and not so consistent figures. Although it must be said that a lot of the cars are yet to be run in.

These are the exact same figures i get. The FE drops after 100 rapidly due to lower gearing.

Well im still in the sub 1K kms run in category for my Punto and my car gave me an average of 16.9 for on 160 Km trip with 90% highway/10% B2B traffic and bluddy spirited driving . I had the AC on all the time during the trip.

My city driving isn't getting me much average right now, its between 11.6- 13.5 depending on the traffic. (with 100 % AC ON)
