That's precisely what my dealer has also informed me. Some sort of a value pack where in you pay 3999 and get free insurance and 50 months RSA.

All the best for your car.

My friend takes his Linea to Concorde and I take my Punto to Prerana Gudulu Gate. I would rate both of them almost equal/ Prerana slightly better purely based on our experience.

I am sure. Since the last 4 years, i've been servicing my Safari Dicor with either Concorde or Prerana, and most of my Punto / Vista or Manza friends too are servicing their cars with KHT / Concorde or Prerana. All the shops are equally good with their Service back-up

I was talking about the Bangalore Service back-up for the Fiats in general. Almost all the A.S.C's are courteous with their treatment towards Fiats, Which sadly is not the case Up North of our Country.

Re: Fiat Grande Punto : Test Drive & Review

For surveys they need to get guys who can speak English.
There was a guy who called me NCR area (112 STD) code.
He practically murdered the language. It will be obscene if I spelled out how he pronounced "Grande".

BTW his records said that my car last servicing was done at Prerna, while actually it was at Concorde. Once he got to know that he beat a hasty retreat.

Again a price hike in March?
I am putting my last effort to get the car before Feb mid. If it is not possible by any chance, i will cancel my booking.

The Swift Zdi being more expensive than the Punto 90hp is rubbish.
I'm posting the blore otr prices. Swift Zdi is 8.16 and Concorde (Mysore road) quoted me 8.65 for the 90HP Punto,no they don't give free insurance just rsa.

How do you know Maruti will hike prices in March? Any concrete insider info, will help a lot of members waiting for the Swift, including me. I hope u don't mean the excise duty hike in budget.

Re: Fiat Grande Punto : Test Drive & Review

I have a question on this. If you book a Punto at a certain price, you need to pay the entire amount by the end of that month to avail the discount being offered.

In the case of Maruti, what will be the final price being billed when delivery may take up to 6 months?

Shashank, there is no need to get worked up on such trivial issue.

Swift ZDi is expensive compared to the 93 hp Punto, when you weigh features offered and its Value for Money preposition.

<10k price difference is nothing when compared to 8 to 9 months of waiting period, dont you think so..?

And lets not go by dragging swift unnecessarily on the Punto thread.

2012 90 hp Punto is not available in Bangalore yet. As per the service advisor at prerana, the 90 hp Punto will receive some upgrades and might get launched by March or April.

Re: Fiat Grande Punto : Test Drive & Review

If there is any comparison, it should be between Swift Zdi and Punto MJD Emotion. Both are 75 HP and top end versions of each car.

The 90 HP is a different beast that does duty in the SX4 Diesel.

I was only pointing out an error in your post. There was nothing in my post to suggest it was meant to offend you.

No,I don't want to start a whole Swift vs Punto debate here. Enough of such posts on the forum already.

Btw, its interesting how u very conveniently left the Punto 90 when you compared the Swift prices with Punto. I thought we were discussing Punto 90s pricing here.

5) By the time you take delivery, you will be the victim of price hike all around you.

The 2012 Punto is indeed a Stonker for its price and anyways, Bangalore does not have any issues with A.S.C. Prerana and KHT still being the Best in Customer service for Fiats.
Pawan, lets not create any confusion, none of the 5 points you have mentioned are true, some at best are speculative.

Service issues are debatable, people may have had service issues even with a Maruti so to say that brand x has absolutely no ASC issues is slightly going over the top.

Even in your own example, it easily shows that Swift is actually cheaper than the regular Punto's equivalent model. So no way the 90 bhp one would be priced lower.

So lets not try to confuse & deviate from the topic.

Pardon me sir.

Have i given affirmative reasons, I have quoted the general discussed scenario these days. Please go through the links. While these are speculative, but it will sure pinch a new diesel car buyers post budget.

Re: Fiat Grande Punto : Test Drive & Review

I think the Punto 76HP Emotion is going to be cheaper on-road that Swift ZDi due to discounts. There are some offers on the 2012 Punto that have been reported on this thread, but there are no offers/discounts with Swift AFAIK (other than corp.discount). 90HP Punto is about 45K more than the Swift ZDI (ex-showroom), so it's going to be more expensive on-road at the moment that Swift ZDi, even after taking discounts into account.

Re: Fiat Grande Punto : Test Drive & Review

Swift ZDI does not have any kind of corp offer. Dealer was not even ready to reduce a single penny from the price list given.

Re: Fiat Grande Punto : Test Drive & Review

Simply because ZDI its an overhyped car that sells on herd mentality.
And its been late, though but atleast Fiat has done its bit on the customer feedback, even though swift sells 10XX better.

Has MSIL done anything about the dreadful brakes on the L and the V?
