Hi Sai,

I am facing the similar issue after changing the pollen filter, the passenger side central vent gives hot air when I set the temperature to 23 - 24 deg C. This was not happening earlier.

However, I am not sure what is the solution. It so happened in my case that the AC stopped cooling after the service (after replacing the pollen filter) and I had to shell out around 8K to get my evaporator coil fixed :Frustrati.

I have replied in the main thread and sent you a pm, please have a look.

Thank you Sai.

Got the Pollen filter from Bosch installed couple of days back and here is my observation:

- Absolutely no foul smell coming in the cabin
- There is still warm air coming from the central left vent if the temperature difference between outside air and ACC is less than 4 deg C.
- The side vents are now getting cooler and I can feel the chill air coming from it.

Still the problem is not resolved completely (but the situation is better than before), it will be good if we can persuade FIAT to switch back to the earlier filter design.

Thanks.

Can someone please publish the gear ratios on the MJD? Searched this thread but could not find the ratio.

Wanted to understand how short the first two gears are and whether they have been tweaked in the EVO

The ratios are given in the owners handbook

Attached, the latest Extended Warranty document from FIAT.

While it is not so clearly mentioned in the booklet, if the boot struts were covered, I would like to ask the same to you guys.

I noticed today morning, that the struts had leaked some time back, and there was the tell tale dust trail on the leak and the loose feel of the boot.

:Frustrati this too, after not letting anyone handle the boot, especially company parking and malls etc.

On the other hand, does it make sense to repair the struts? It is used infrequently, and there are people who repair the main shockers after leaks. Why not these?stupid:

The struts on my Jet's boot lid were replaced under warranty. Only one was leaking but the dealer went ahead and changed both (Oberoi Fiat) and in any case they were not that expensive either 3or400 bucks each.

I got them changed under extended warranty. They are priced at 800 each, and labor 90 for each side. Strange part: Oberoi said it ain't covered, while Kashyap changed it without a fuss. Approvals came in a matter of hours! Bill = 0 ! clap: Must appreciate !!

Hi Guys, Has anyone tried shopping on 99rpm for FIAT spares? I am based in Noida and planning to order front Shocker kit for Punto MJD. I don't want to upgrade to increased GC shocks which are being offered in market. However this site is still offering the pre 2012 model shocks. I want to be sure before ordering.

Thanks in advance.

Several members here have ordered from 99rpm.com and have had a positive experience (do search the forums). Try calling them up and asking if the part is in stock before placing the order.

Thanks Gannu.

Can anybody tell me what are the total parts i need to order from this if i am looking for pre 2012 front suspension change:

http://www.99rpm.com/fiat/front-suspension-punto.html

I understand these two:
1 x Shock Absorber Front Lh| 59089793
1 x Shock Absorber Front Rh| 59089795

But apart from these two what other parts i should be ordering?

I do have the gear ratios of the original Punto i.e. before 2012. Following is a comparison of diesel versions of hatchbacks - I made this long time back, so ratios of newer variants might have changed. But this comparison will give you an idea of how the first two gears stack up against the rest of the competition.

Same here. I also got my boot-lid dampers changed under extended warranty at Kashyap FIAT, Okhla, Delhi. This was after about 3.5 years of usage. Both the dampers had failed. Possibly one failed earlier and the load of the entire boot-lid was on the other one, so it might also have failed. I don't know if these fail on other vehicles also, but FIAT should use parts that can take the load of the heavy boot-lid. I personally prefer solid vehicles with heavy build.

I do not think this is some thing which regularly fails in Linea/Punto. I have not faced any issues with boot dampers in my Linea so far in 6 years and very few members have faced this damper failure. It is not some thing as common as broken seat height levers or fuel lids which refuse to open/close lol:
Good to know that the parts are covered under extended warranty.

Boot of a sedan is generally lighter than that of a hatchback as the hatchback needs more reinforcement for structural rigidity. Don't think linea's bootlid will be that heavy - could be heavier than that of other sedans though.

I think those boot dampers go bad on several instances of mistreatment by the security at Mall entries when they open and shut the boot very quickly.
