Comment on the headlamp relectors on the Cruze

Just another observation,

'
I honestly hope GM have got their act right on the headlamp reflectors on the Cruze,C'os on the Magnum they are a joke. Even after 130/100s its pathetic to say the least.Absolutely blind at night.

Test drive

So i managed to take a TD yesterday, and have to say fantastic. Here is what i felt:
-Clutch rebound was not an issue at all as reported. (Maybe it was that particular car that had the issue)
-Fit finish was good, plastics again wasn't anything to complain about, except for the door panels that had noticeable grain on them.
-Turbo lag is definitely there but very manageable for diesel users.
-Performance and NVH is outstanding! This is the USP of the car.
-Feature List is far superior to the competition.
-Ride was great to take on the potholes and bad roads easily.
-Handling- Heavy feel from the steering and a tendency to under steer. Hopefully a change from the vectra's should reduce that.
-Price - @ 13.62L OTR ahmedabad, this is Linea level VFM in civic segment.

Have booked a White LTZ a week back too. Delivery status will be updated by mid next week.

I own a M/T Laura too (1.9 PD, 105 bhp) , trust me in straight line the CRUZE beats the Laura. It really is crazy when u redline (Love the wheel spin u get on a perfect shift after 1st to 2nd) The Laura has a strong mid-range performance so does the CRUZE but in the Top end of the rpm range the Laura loses its grunt this is where the Cruze scores.
Laura really does feel great in terms of handling , high speed stability on the other hand the CRUZE should have had with all its power a TCS if not an ESP (which are being provided in the Laura, & thus giving that extra CONFIDENCE to ripp the LAURA ). - ( This is an intial TD remark made - havent test driven the CRUZE > 120 km/h )

Not selling the Laura but - trading in the COROLLA for the CRUZE

Hmm but i think the main competitor in terms of performance and handling would be the new Laura L&K which is a 2.0 litre 140 Bhp engine. Its got ESP and stuff's like that so maybe i think it would beat the Cruze( it has a DSG gearbox as well).

Are you sure ACI tested the Laura 09 105HP and the Laura 09 140HP ??? And is the difference only .20 secs. That really does not justify the price of 19 lak for the L&K 2.0.I'm sure there has to be a mistake.

Checked again in another edition ;

1.9 PD A/T (105 bhp) - 11.24 secs

2.0 PD A/T (140 bhp) - 11.07 secs

The major difference is in the TOP SPEED i.e. 187 in the 1.9 & 207 in the 2.0 respectively.

Hi Karan,
How would you compare the space in the front and at the back between the Corolla [not altis] and the Cruze? Ive traveled at length in the Corolla and found both space and comfort pretty good, is the Cruze better/worse/as-good?

Im TDing the Cruze next week in Pune, and from what Ive heard, the car is awesome...been following the car from the initial design sketches!!

Thanks

The main difference would be in 0-150kph figures.

The Laura 09 105 HP is available in Ambiente and Elegance whereas 140bhp is only in LnK. Lnk has other features not available in Ambiente and Elegance.

Hmm then according to these stats seems like Cruze can beat even the Laura L&K in a straight line race since top speed for cruze is 210 Kmph right.

Ya i know Elegance and L&K have other differences too but i didn't know that the 0-100 timings were so close.I think after 120 the L&K would be much quicker too i guess.
