shoddy servicing

Right after servicing last week, the car was delivered from the authorised service center at Sundaram motors, Chennai with white patches all over it from polishing/subjecting it to a wash with the Diamondbrite shampoo. The boot had not been cleaned with a visible amount of sand on the mats, and the the floor mats inside the passenger cabin were similarly unwashed, so too the boot lid's exterior. There were white marks all over the car from an unevenly applied polish coat and some of them still haven't disappeared. The seats haven't been cleaned whatsoever.

Of a more serious nature is the problem that has arisen after the last service with the air conditioning. Now the a/c causes the front mirror to fog up badly causing a great deal of trouble with low visibility. Apparently, the a/c vent near the windshield stays on even when it is set off in the configuration menu. Sundaram motors assured us that it had been fixed during last week's servicing, but the problem still persists.

We have had to resort to a decidedly low-end solution - namely putting two pieces of cloth over the vent under the windshield.

Has anyone else had such issues or problems with servicing? I'd really like to know.

And does anyone know if GM India has a customer grievance cell / customer service e-mail ID I can contact them on?

My colleague is getting his new Chevy Cruze. He is planning to upgrade the tyres. Which one to go for?

I have the same query.

It comes shod with 205/60/R16.

I am thinking of 225/50/R16 be fine without effecting the ride quality? Also suggestions on brand would be appreciated.

I am keen on Michelin XM1+ ( I love these on my Pete'd Viva). Does Michelin have in above size?

@Latheesh, do update what tyres your friend finally went with and cost details as well. Thanks !

Just a suggestion,
the XM1s are economical tyres and with the cruze with its 150bhp engine you will need something a little more grippy, i suggest you look at the Yokohama C-Drives.

At the time of buying my Cruze I was informed by the dealer that if the stock tires and alloys are upgraded then the warranty is void for the parts related to the tires.

What if we stick to the same size? Tyres only no alloy change.

Hey I changed my stock JK vectra's to Continental CPC2's of the same size 205 60 R16 so that my warranty is not void.
I asked the service manager before changing my car's tyres if I can upgrade to 215 55 R16 so that they fit in the same alloy/rim but he said that then my warranty will be void so I decided to stick with the OEM size only.

Found this about the Cruze in the media here - Unique air shutter helps morph Chevrolet Cruze into 40 MPG leader (w/ Video)

Does the Indian cruze have the same system?

Hey Cruzers,

A query, donno whether this has been answered before..

One of my friend got a Chevy Cruze (LTZ) and it is hardly 1 month old, and the ORVM cover is missing now, he doubts whether some one has removed when it was parked, coz according to his knowledge he has not met with any accident of any sort, and there is no damage to the mirror except the cover missing.

When asked with the dealership they say that the ORVM comes only as an assembly and the cost is Rs.9000 for one assembly

Has anyone faced similar situation? Can we get the cover alone somewhere? Since the car is Black, it does not look totally odd, but still he does not want to leave it as such.

Your suggestions pls..

Regards,
Rajan.

Damn, I'm seeing a phenomenal number of Cruze' around Bombay; they are like all over the place. The Cruze looks especially nice in black or white. The rear end may be Civic-inspired, but it looks so much more modern (than the Civic). I feel the Cruze' best profile is the rear 3-quarter.
