re: Chevrolet Cruze LTZ 2.0 Diesel : Test Drive & Review

Hello guys!

Planning to get the diesel rocket within a week.

Should I wait for the new 2012 upgrade? What say?

How far would the launch be? It would be disheartening if it is launched next month

Thanks!

re: Chevrolet Cruze LTZ 2.0 Diesel : Test Drive & Review

Had a chat with the SA here. He said first in pipeline is upgraded Captiva and updated Cruze should be launched only 3-4 months after that. Captiva is supposed to hit the market in Dec-Jan time frame, so Cruze should be coming with a new engine in April-March.

Even i am in the same mind as you, go for Cruze now or wait for the more powerful avatar next year.

Hey guys.. Can I know what can be expected more from the update? Will we get 180 bhp engine as suggested or will it be down tuned for india? and beside that what more can we expect in the interiors? and one last thing I wanna know is the performance of AT. Is it a very outdated bad AT as read somewhere?

No, we will not be getting the 180 bhp engine. That is the 2.2 litre engine which is coming in the facelift captiva. The cruze will be getting the new Z-series 2.0 lt DOHC diesel which will put out 163 bhp and around 360 Nm of torque. Interior quality is expected to improve. Rear bench is slated to be re-designed to release more leg room. Some new electronic accessories are rumored to be there (TPMS). Some minor exterior mods as well (no idea what though).

Hey guys! Got the rocket!
Caviar Black

Initial impression is pretty good and I completely agree with all the positives pointed out by other distinguished members here.

However here are the few things which I DO NOT like:

Features

No windows auto up feature.

Window up/down through the remote key should have been there.
Infact the PEPS auto lock should also have auto window roll up.

Rear seating space.

Glovebox space is absolutely dubious.

Alloys are a tad boring.

No factory fitted touchscreen entertainment/navigation system.
Caska did not excite me.

Interior plastics pretty cheap. Especially the levers for seat adjustment. They feel pathetic.

Audio sound quality not bad at all but could have been better.

The horn seems to be also for the passengers inside the car. :P

Safety

Additional airbags. At least 4 should be standard in a car of this price.

Rear Sensors beep is hardly audible. Should have had auto volume lowering feature of the stereo when reverse is engaged.

Despite these shortcomings the car is definitely impressive and I hope to enjoy the ownership.

Cheers!

re: Chevrolet Cruze LTZ 2.0 Diesel : Test Drive & Review

A proud moment for all Cruze owners. Chevrolet Cruze has sold 1 Million units world-wide making Cruze the best selling brand in Chevrolet stable.

Apart from this celebratory news, Cruze has also been the top-selling for the past 10 months in the US and not to mention being the sole contributor to haul GM out of an almost dead-end tunnel of impending bankruptcy

I'am super proud to be a Cruze owner.....Are you too???

Stock Cruze? I dont think so

A re-mapped Cruze? Below is the linky of the dyno graph of a remapped cruze

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/modifi...ml#post2185319

This Cruze is from Hyderabad and is owned by the TDI Racing team owner and met him at a drag race in hyderabad and incidentally he lives 0.5km from my home

Btw, he lives most of the time in Bangalore. You can check this car out in person and even take a ride !

Same thing is on my mind after i get "bored" with stock power. And, after 15 months, I am nowhere near getting bored of the stock power

Thank you!! Had seen that actually. Wanted to see the curves of a stock Cruze.
The reason being that Skoda Laura, BMWs etc give their torque quotes as 'X' Nm @ xxxx-xxxx RPM.

Skoda Laura Tsi: 250Nm @ 1500-4500Rpm
BMW 530d: 540Nm @ 1750-3000 RPM

Its similar for 525d as well as the diesel Lauras. So just wanted to see the curves. Particularly the torque curves.

I plan to Chip (racedynamics) my Cruze as soon as I get it.

re: Chevrolet Cruze LTZ 2.0 Diesel : Test Drive & Review

Guys a general question for people who have driven both the manual and the AT cruze... How's the AT in general and compared to say laura DSG etc. and also how's the performance and fun factor compared to the manual. I am asking this as this car is one of the few contenders in my radar for my next purchase.

I have not driven the Laura DSG. But having test driven the manual and the AT, the manual is more fun! However how much city driving will you do? 80-90%? Then get the AT.

re: Chevrolet Cruze LTZ 2.0 Diesel : Test Drive & Review

Guys any news on the update of the cruze? When is it expected? I plan to buy a car in Q1 of 2012. Hope it comes before that as the rear leg room in the current cruze is not much. Even the ANHC is equally good or better. And I read the new updated cruze will have better space at the back, better interiors and a newer engine with more power! This will make the cruze best buy in its segment and really tempting! I just hope it is launched soon and with not much price increase. I must say that chevy has kept on updating and working on the cruze regularly which is very impressive unlike some makers. But the only problem is they keep on increasing the price also regularly.

Any info on the updated cruze will be really appreciated.
