Thank you Mafia and others.
I have booked service for this Saturday. If the dealer can void warranty at his discretion then I dont have any other option but to get it serviced.
I agree with you auto-one on the interval and I think 1000 KM is too early to get it serviced but ya the manual says 1000km or 1 month which ever is earlier.
Thanks guys

I think "tank full to tank full" method is better to check FE.
Go for a full tank filling(now most of the petrol filling stations are with auto cut-off when tank is full) then reset your trip meter. Note down the trip meter reading during your next fueling and also the quantity of fuel filled. Divide the kms travelled with the lits of petrol filled and you will get the actual FE.

I follow the same method. I recently pulled FE of a little under 15kmpl for 100% in city driving with AC on 60-70% of the times.

Hey that is good. Have you service your car? (First service) I have heard that after first service it will still increase.

I did not see much difference post the first service in the couple of weeks. Any way the first service for a Beat is just a formality. Even the sales rep accepts that it is just to check if the car is ticking fine. No oil change or any works done. Just check and clean.

FE if 15 is very good. How many Kms have you done?
I am still getting 12 with 100% ac and 100% city driving. That too in smalll distances like 5km / trip.

I hope FE figures to increase after 2nd service.

Thanks guys for your help.I thought there might be a FE checking function in the car display itself and i'm missing it.Will try checking thru full tank method on my car and let you know, but even i feel i'm not getting anywhere close to 15/16 kmpl.the Fuel metre goes down sooo fast. After my last tank full,i have last 2 bars left on the display, and i've done 368 kms.

My car also would be driven like that only once it comes to my hand, 100% Ac and Local 5 to 7 Km. radius.

I travel around 30km to and fro on a daily basis. I have clocked 1500km in almost 2 months. I use my two wheeler on some days as well. The best way to increase FE

That is exactly your problem. The distance travelled is so short that the engine never gets fully warmed up. FE is low during warm up period.

Alright Folks! My first manufacturing defect has come up in green beat.

The panel which encases the aircon vents and hazard lights switch, has cracked up and looks like someone burnt it. I will post the pics soon for a better understanding of the defect.

Good news is GM has acknowledged it as a manufacturing defect and will be replacing the whole panel. They took pictures and plan to do something about it.
I also talked to them again about the noise problem from rear suspension, they have told me that they will be putting in a collar as soon as they get it. It will reduce the noise by a lot, but then again I have been assured of lot of things before too.

Also my FE numbers went up a little after doing about 1000Kms. They are currently around 14.
