Last week I drove @ 140+kmph. It was stable but there were some small vibrations due to the wheel unbalance. So I told the service centre guy to do the wheel balancing. They told that I have to pay for the balancing weights. Since the wheels are alloys, the weights seems to be costlier than the regular ones ![]() I used to maintain ~35PSI for all the tyres for improving FE.

So give it a shot, I am sure GM would be more than happy for a free professional touchup.

Note that your friend probably got a free touchup because of his relationship with the showroom (or the service advisor was in a good mood!). GM will NOT entertain free accidental repairs, just because you have the cashless ownership policy. Neither are they obligated to, nor should we expect the same. As is amply clear, the cashless ownership policy has only to do with scheduled maintenance (oil changes, services etc.).

BHPian ![]() | ![]() Well GTO, my first post said "touch-up job" is free. Any damage beyond a small touch-up would'nt be entertained by any dealer service, be it Hyundai, Maruti or GM. As for the second part, no dealer would do a "FREE" touchup if you don't have a good relationship with him. Talk to the dealer & workshop, request for a free touchup. I am sure they would be more than happy to help you. |

| ![]() Folks, When you look at the OEM deck in the beat it shows an iPod function on the Dot Matrix display, any idea how is this functionality used? Any input on this subject would be appreciated. |

Most of us are driving in extreme driving conditions so in my opinion you must go for engine oil and filter change. I got it changed at 1800 km as I wanted to get rid of running-in oil. Synthetic Engine Oil - Quartz 7000 GMO 5W-30, 3.75 l, will cost around Rs. 1100 and Oil Filter around Rs. 140.

I10... hmmm its also good. Response is no doubt better than Beat but not by much. If you have driven Zen/Santro you will find something missing in these cars (other than swift). PUSH IN THE BACK EFFECT. Zen for example has 2 valves per cylinder which makes excellent low end torque. Santro is even better. But at higher RPMs these disappoint big time. My take Swift>I10>Beat>Figo>Polo>Micra>Punto

![]() Did u test that speed alone or with someone in the car? It stays cool when it’s loaded but I’ll have to check once again. Have done the tire rotations on 5K?

![]() I asked the service centre guy about the version of the upgrade. He told it is version 2. When I asked him to confirm on that, then he got doubt. Then both of us went inside to check with the guy who is doing this. He confirmed that it is version # 3. I cannot compare between version2 with version3, because I have not done version2 earlier. IMO you can get it done at the earliest without wasting your time. Could not push it to the max speed because of the road condition and there were 3 persons inside.

| ![]() @Salbin please let us know on the change in FE as a result of this ECU remap, whenever you can. It is good to know that the folks in bangalore are atleast aware of such a remap. The Pashankar guys here in pune are absolutely clueless and dont even know what an ECU is. Finding out versions etc would be next to impossible. |

| ![]() @ Salbin and @ Sajjt - Guys, help me out in deciding whether to go for ECU remapping or not. Currently at close to 6500 kms on the odo, and getting 15 kmpl fuel efficiency. My concern is how much the FE will go down (if any) after the remapping . I do want a little better 2nd gear power, but not if it drops the FE too much. Also planning to get oil change done as didnt get it in 5000 kms service. The brand mentioned previously (quartz) is not available at nagpur, so, suggest some alternative. Do i really have to get oil filter changed too? |
