Re: Chevrolet Beat : Test Drive & Review

Thanks guys Samarth has sent me his contact number.

Any idea if the Beats air filter is the same as any other cars ? Im asking because K&N doesnt make a panel filter for the Beat and I dont think a conical would help with the Beat as it would spoil the CAI

Re: Chevrolet Beat : Test Drive & Review

Need some help here guys! is it worth trading off the 2011 BEAT LT 13.5K kms done for a 2000 Merc E240 55K kms done in fantastic condition. Or sell of the beat and buy the merc on cash? Any suggestions ?

Re: Chevrolet Beat : Test Drive & Review

Hi Yogi,

Personally I am against it. The hatch offers you modern day practicality. I am assuming it is your own only car. I would not trade for it but keep the Beat. However for more suggestions this is the perfect thread :

Re: Chevrolet Beat : Test Drive & Review

Hello Fello beat(ers),

I am noticing a vibrating steering when i brake the car at any speeds. I suspect brake pad replacement but the car has run only 23000 Kms. Will it be covered under the 3 years warranty?

Should i check anything else, before going for the brake pad replacement ?

Brake pad replacements are NOT covered under warranty. NOT sure it comes under the 3 year promise on maintenance though.

Is there any problem with the alignment? Have you had a primary check on it?

If you are felling vibrations in steering then probably your discs are warped, or something is wrong with the brake drums at rear.

I faced this issue in my accent, when steering and brake pedal used to vibrate while braking at speeds above 60, i got rear shoes, cleaned and front discs and pads, skimmed. Problem disappeared.

Probably, same is the case with you.

Mr. Beat, It' should be covered under CPCO if you have opted for it. Please get the rotors and pads checked.

Re: Chevrolet Beat : Test Drive & Review

Hi everybody
Last week finished a Bombay-Delhi-Bombay solo drive in a petrol beat
A very pleasant surprise was the average fuel consumption.
From Baroda to Udaipur got 22.60 kmpl
From Manesar to Udaipur got 17.81(diversions between Manesar and Jaipur otherwise a very clear run)
From Udaipur to Dhamod 18.47 kmpl(this low figure is surprising)
From Dhamod to Bharuch 19.25 kmpl
All with about 20 kms with AC and the rest without it.
And the best was from Bharuch to a place call Achhad(Maharashtra border) 25.47 kmpl (without ac).
Really surprised.Has anybody ever got such fuel efficiency?
Regards

Sir, I am truly You got 25.47? How? Isn't the ARAI mileage 18.6? The closest I have been to this is 16.8 Kmp/l at a highway stretch. What calculation method have you used?

Wheel Alignment and rotation is done by me every 6 months/ 5000 kms so that should not be an issue.

Yes, i think it is the same case. The vibrtation is evident at some particular speeds. I will need to check for it thoroughly.

Hi Guys,

Is anyone aware if I can get any accessories for Beat here in malaysia. AFAIK, Beat is not sold here, but I would like to get DRLs, HIDs and fog lamps. Any pointers?

Hi.
I too wonder how did I get that many KMPL
At the petrol bunk noted the odo reading, filled petrol, started the engine and then shut it off and again topped the tank,The no of kilometres divided the no of litres of petrol and that is what I got.
When I spoke to the mechanic, who calibrated the ECU he too was surprised that I got 22+ KMPL.
Regards
