Re: Volkswagen Polo : Test Drive & Review

Still waiting for the polo 1.5tdi no official report or any teasers yet. Roads are getting stuffed more and more with polos and ventos, cant imagine what happens if the give a 4-pot 1.5tdi at the same price.

Do we have to pay to get certain features activated through VAS?

VW downtown is quoting 500 per feature I want activated through VAS!

See post#2385 on this. Guess this depend on the dealers, but strange as VW should have a stand on this and not the dealers!

Cheers!

That's just ridiculous. Its not even a 5 minute job. If they are still hesitant, wait till your scheduled service and get these activated. VAS updates are a part of your regular service.

My bad! Should've searched the thread.True,i feel they should activate these features at the time of PDI and not have us come again to get them all activated.

I took delivery of my black Polo 1.2 TDI highline on Friday I've done about 500kms as of now with 400 on the highways, must say i'm very impressed with the car. Can any of the diesel Polo owners confirm if the gearbox was 'hard' on delivery ? In my car the shifts require an effort as the gearbox is quite hard.
I'll be putting up a detailed ownership review soon, here are a few pics of my car:

Surprised! Congrats! Looks beautiful in black!

IIRC, 10 days back only you took the TD of Polo? Booked and took delivery of the car so soon? How did the confusion (After all those test drives of Swift and Polo) get cleared?

Congrats once again...

Thanks a lot

Now about the 'eternal confusion' what can i say, Maruti dealer at the time of booking told me i can get the delivery by Feb or March and i waited patiently for 3 months. When i went to him after the price hike(17k one) he told the earliest i can get the car was by April end. Besides, the dealer response and attitude had been a put off since the very beginning. I called him atleast 10 times asking for my position in the wait list and visited the dealership 3 times to look at the list, each time he'd come up with some excuse and not show me the list.

Took back to back TD's of Swift and Polo on the same stretch multiple times, the Swift clearly emerged as the winner, but the Polo wasn't that very bad. Swift triumphed in terms of NVH and Power delivery but the Polo in the right gear felt punchy.

Moreover, i got tired waiting and lost patience. Got a cool 60k off on the Polo so it came to around the same price as the ZDI here. Took the plunge, and i'm quite happy with my decision

@unknown: A cousin of mine who accompanied me on my weekend drive was so impressed by the car he decided to buy the Polo, so we went to VW downtown today.

The SA told us they had a few 2012 cars in stock, with minor upgrades but since he hadn't seen the car I don't know exactly what has changed. But he confirmed that tthere was no change in the engine, and later a chat with the GM also confirmed the same. They expect the 1.5 tdi to come only in 2013.

If u can find a 2011 car my advice is go for it.

Re: Volkswagen Polo : Test Drive & Review

The discounts are only on 2011 models as per EVM dealers in Kerala. Today they have only one 2011 Vento TDI available out of 11 they had. And there are no discounts on the 2012 Polos as of now.

@shashank
Thanks for the heads up, dealer Is offering me 65k off on 1.2/1.6highline(petrol) & 1.2 highline(diesel) - diesel highline is dearer so thinking to pick 1.2 or 1.6 petrol - but not able to decide tough times.

Think of diesel based on your usage, otherwise go in for the 1.6. Unlike diesel, the petrol prices are bound to increase.

The Polo 1.6 one of the best hatch currently in the market and a pleasure to drive most so in highways!

Cheers!
