Re: Volkswagen Polo : Test Drive & Review

Can anyone who's got auto lock/unlock activated through VAS confirm if on removing key, ALL doors unlock or just the drivers side door ?

In my car, only the drivers door is unlocked when i remove the key and the lock icon stays illuminated. The SA told me this is how it works. Can anyone confirm ?

Thanks for the reply guys!

@volkman: It'll be great if you can confirm

@Nick: In my car atleast the drivers door is unlocked. Strange that all doors stay locked in your car

Also, can someone reply to my previous post regarding the wheel lock up? Would be of great help.

I just checked again and here are my findings:
there are 2 systems:
1st is when car gets auto lock after crossing speed of 15 KMPH. when i remove the key, all the 4 doors get unlocked and it can be opened from outside.

2nd is when you manually lock the doors from driver side lock-unlock button (called central locking). when i remove the key, all the 4 doors are still locked and can't be opened from outside. even if i open driver side door from inside, still other 3 doors are locked and can't be opened from outside.

confirmed the same thing by workshop person also.

Wheel lock up is quite common in Polo. There are more than 5 incidents of this happening on various threads in the forum. Don't keep handbrake on for long periods particularly after wash and driving though wet conditions.

Re: Volkswagen Polo : Test Drive & Review

I checked properly, in my car also all the doors unlock on removing the key, however if i get out of the car and open it from outside it wasn't possible. Its a good thing only i guess.

The car has 2700+kms on the odo, once it hits 3k mark, i'll have a review ready. Hopefully sometime in the second week of June.

with Nicky, I had got an opportunity to visit the Volkswagen Chakan Plant where Polo & Vento is manufactured. There I saw few Polo models with blackened Headlamps, different alloys than the one we get in India and also Polo Petrol Automatic Edition. All these models were for export in Asia.

Export Alloys are also same as Indian Vento. There is no Polo export. Export is only for Vento which is named as Polo (notchback) in export markets.

Re: Volkswagen Polo : Test Drive & Review

Quick question, has vw already launched a 2012 version of their polo or is an update due/expected/rumoured ?

Re: Volkswagen Polo : Test Drive & Review

Any idea how long the 2011 stock of Petrol Polo cars will last? I am planning to get the Highline between October-December. Apprehensive whether this stock with offer will last that long.

Also, what is the OTR of 2011 HL Polo 1.2 after the discounts?

2011 stock is in any case impossible to last till Oct-Dec period as 2012 stock piling up will start by that time.
better buy in Dec 2012 or Jan 2013 instead for 2012 stock as you might get good deal.
