Re: Skoda Yeti : Review, Price & Pictures

The dimensions appear the same.

Look at the amount of brake dust on the wheels, especially the front ones.

On enquiry at the time of purchase the salesman told us to expect service cost to be around 10k. Do keep us updated because you know we are all are eager to know about the Skoda service. Thanks in advance

Re: Skoda Yeti : Review, Price & Pictures

One can go to the skoda website and get an estimate of the service cost. The website gives me an estimate of 8344/- ; the service center has quoted 8781/-. Items like wheel balancing and alignment can be done outside for a better price. The A/C disinfection and Service plus are something that the dealer pushes , don't think they are an absolute must.

PS: one thing I forgot to mention, I was told( acutally shown on the service center system) there is a Skoda campaign to replace the A/C compressor / some other A/C part...probably relay switch or something like that....can't clearly remember for Yeti's coming in for service. and that is the reason my car will take 2 days at the workshop. Did any of the fellow Yetian's had experience similar during the 1st service visit ?

Regards
Faraz

The Skoda Yeti first service usually costs about Rs 7500 - Rs 8500 or in this range.
Cleaning the AC ducts and changing the Pollen Filter are worthwhile things to do to preserve the quality of air that you breathe.
Best to do tyre balancing and wheel alignment at a proper first class tyre specialist.

Re: Skoda Yeti : Review, Price & Pictures

Giving my 4x2 yeti ambition for 1st year service on wednesday. Had a few question regarding VCDS, someone has already mentioned somewhere on the forum but cant seem to find the correct thread. I want to get the following activated so need a step by step guidance as the service advisors have no idea whatsoever.

1) I want the MID to display kmpl instead of l/100km.
2) needle sweep.
3) fog lamp cornering (if at all possible in ambition trim)

I remember the MID can be changed by changing the country to Japan, I told the service advisor to try that when i gave my fabia for service, he said "sir we do not change the country".
So if someone can help me out with these...please...

Please let me know if it's a good buy to consider. Thanks.
Hi,

What was the final conclusion on this ? Did you buy it or chose something else?

Thnx

This was a dud, they later informed me that the car would not be refurbished & would be sold as is, walked away that minute.

There is a strange khat coming from underneath and its so irregular that I have been unable to tie it to anything. At first I thought it was the steering but turning the wheel either way fully makes no sound. No warning signals either. The Yeti is superb otherwise. A visit to the service station will take up half a day at least but now I think I will plan it.

Exact same sequence with me with answer "we are not allowed to change it". I have a contact who can provide you this service. I was checking on this for my Yeti. I have not done it myself but I do have his coordinates.

PM me if you are interested. Of course I have no commercial interest in it. Just like you I might avail this service some day.

Re: Skoda Yeti : Review, Price & Pictures

Ok So this morning as I am ready to drive out the Yeti won't start. The starter goes klick klick klick... So I drive in another car and when I'm back about 45 mins later I take a look. Still the same klick klick klick... and the same when I try with the high beams off. So I'm not sure if it's the battery or what. Then before getting out of the car I switch on the music system and as the Cd starts playing I pull on the the leave for the high beam to come on. Music shuts off. So I try it again. Same thing.
Anyone know whats the warranty period on the Varta battery that comes with the Skoda? :(
Time to call Skoda?

If your car has the on-road assistance active, just call them. A person will come to your house with a spare battery and jump start your car. Or you can do the same yourself if you have a spare battery lying around or can arrange one from some donor car. Instructions to jump start are given in the manual. If the car starts, just keep it on for 10~15 minutes or go for a nice ride. Problem should be solved. Later get the car battery checked at the ASC for gravity issues.

I had a similar issue with the Superb once as I had put too much electrical load on the car and the car was very infrequently used. I got a nice set of jump start cables made after that. Just ensure that internal mood lighting (I am not sure if Yeti is equipped with them) and auto headlights are off at the time of starting the car.

I checked the SKODA website now for the price of yeti. There is a huge difference in price.
The difference in price for yeti 4 x 4 is more by 2.15+ Lakhs now. That too in 6 months time
Am i reading this correct.

While i understand that the cost would have gone high due to the depreciation of rupee, this cannot be so high..

A technician from an nearby battery shop/garage. In fact, if you have a multi-meter, you don't even need that. Just check the voltage across the terminals. You can get the battery recharged at a nearby garage or just a get a new one.

With Fortuner 4x4 at 23.26 the Yeti 4x4 at 18.36 seems to be way overpriced. If they give a discount of 3L or more then only does it make sense to buy it.
