Thanks Deepak. I did read 4X4Addict's fantastic thread, but somehow forgot that Rogeotech is coimbatore. It will be a good first weekend ride for the new Thar.

Emailing them now. By the way, has anyone done their front grill mod (Greyhound)?

Cheers
Lakshmi

Re: Thar accessories and fabs in Chennai?

You could try contacting Ignite. It is on the ECR road. Googling it will provide the contact details. They are into jeep mods big time I believe. Been there around 5 years ago, so dont hold me to it

re: Review: 1st-gen Mahindra Thar (2011 - 2019)

Thar is a great vehicle. I bought mine in November, 2014 and boy i get envious looks from guys driving their cars. Their wives/GFs make them look at my jeep whenever i stop at red light.
i wonder what they tell/ask them when they look at it?

re: Review: 1st-gen Mahindra Thar (2011 - 2019)

evo names Mahindra Thar as best off-roader at the off-road awards:

http://thrillofdriving.com/news/evo-...ff-road-awards

Personally I am not in agreement with winners of a lot of their categories. (Mahindra Thar not included )

+1 to this. The front is indeed beautiful, however I find the usage of so many reflectors/indicators a turn off. The styling could have been a little more simpler, this looks more like a toy like.

I think it looks brilliant! A very neat and tastefully executed mod job. A big to Azad 4X4's for this one.

It is a good effort by AZAD and I am sure they will do customization on personal preference too. I did not like the tail lights at all and all that chrome on rear view mirrors and hinges.

Square theme for the top half and round for bottom, overall it looks ugly.

As can be expected, mixed reactions from Team BHP! This is not necessarily a bad thing, since it's good to have a diversity of opinion when it comes to automotive aesthetics.

But for those of us who'd prefer the Thar to look like a serious off-roading machine and not a mall-crawler, I too fall squarely in the camp that thinks less is more.

Like Sourabh, I too would opt for black over chrome and get rid of all the itsy-bitsy marker lights. Overall, I think Azad 4x4 do seem to have interesting concepts (although I have no idea of how well they execute; e.g., NVH issues, leakages during the monsoons, etc.).

At the end of the day I'm partial to seeing flatter / squarer roofs on Jeep derivatives. If anyone's interested, here's a link to one of my earlier posts in "The most practical & best looking hardtop - Mahindra Thar" thread, with pics of another Azad 4x4 design I thought was interesting: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/4x4-ve...ml#post3564803

True that, looks are subjective. It is always good to have difference in opinion, that is how we evolve. World be so boring if all of us would agree to each other all the time .

Coming to this particular vehicle, looks apart, I would not want to use it as an off roader. It will always carry a huge risk of getting damaged as it is too loaded to be an off-roader.
