The pictures actually have something to tell, if you notice the picture Khan_Sultan had attached, it shows the contours (the ones that look like they are manually chopped off) where the Bolero's door pads/door contours fit (the door rubber moulding probably hides it in the Bolero). So basically in the Bolero, one can't really see that side, but due to the Thar's door design one can see it in the Thar.
Hmm, this heightens my anticipation of what's the story with the export version, eagle888 please do the honours .
apologies.our lines are down so I have been off-line a while. On cell modem right now. Will do picks tomorrow guys and dolls. But looking at the Bolero pics above. wow so amazing, it looks just like my Thar dash.
I will post tomorrow..

Recent heavy rains proved it, it does not leak.

As promised by BD sir, Finally Mahindras has revamped their corporate website. Catch it here Mahindra Rise.

Request to Mahindra: Please update Mahindra Bolero also. Lots of discontinued information still hangs on website.

I wish this money was spent on "revamping" Thar.

Is anyone aware if Thar is available for TD at any of the Mahindra dealerships in Bangalore?

It is the Bolero dashboard. Pretty easy to spot. But why the question?

re: Review: 1st-gen Mahindra Thar (2011 - 2019)

i asked the question to know if the Thar CRDe dashboard is from the bolero bin, then why its so crude and not so refined?

sometimes i feel that BD sir felt the heat of people asking for the THAR CRDe launch, and in the end it was a rushed up launch (incomplete, or half baked pie)!

i feel i have lost interest in the THAR, also the thread is loosing its steam and fizzling out!

Here are those pics of my THAR Dash here in SA
I am very happy with it. I never wanted the best dash possible, but I did want a lifestyle vehicle that offers the BEST LOOKING 1950'S 4X4 Look, plus the BEST DIESEL POWERHOUSE and The BEST 4X4 GEARBOX. I got this all in the MAHINDRA THAR. I also added a pic of the change I made to my door panels. I had no issue with the original door panels, but as a hobby I changed to 2mm dimple plate. Hope this helps

re: Review: 1st-gen Mahindra Thar (2011 - 2019)

One of the best reviews I've ever read. I think I'd fall in the 95% of the potential owners for the Thar. Even with the bad interiors and other things that I read here, I really wanted to get this car till I saw that picture with the Classic.

I don't think any Indian car can replace the Classic for me! Thanks for the amazing review. 5 stars indeed.

Peace

Re: Mahindra Thar : OBD Compliance???

Its great to see so much of discussion on a single vehicle.
Thar as a vehicle may be good or bad, I am fascinated and gonna get it.

As some one has already told its an ideal platform for playing the MOD game(less the IFS),after all who would like to cut-paste a brand new nicely outfitted vehile, so in a way the interiors of Thar as they are(??) is good for people who cant but have to give that
personal touch to their vehicle!

I personnally wanted a affordable 4x4 vehicle which can take the rough with aplomb
(Basically trail driving with occasional 4X4 requirement thrown in) when I am out
without the fancy outfittings so I can do the rest, so for me its the Thar.
I dont mind no HT n AC for now as I shall add them as soon as they are avbl,
May be I would do a fibre glass HT on my own.

But before I take the plunge can some one confirm is Mahindra Thar OBD-II compatible or not? As I also enjoy tinkering with vehicle electronics. As per me it should be as its a BS-IV vehicle but I am not very sure as various makers follow diff standards of on board diagnostics systems.

One final thought : Alright MnM has given a 4x4 lifestyle vehicle without true lifestyle ets n dets but I feel they are being pulled to the extent they dont deserve. We all agree it should atleat come with an AC (considering the technical problem of fitting an after market AC in an ECU controlled vehicle) so MnM give me an AC even at some marginal cost increase and u got 1 more confirmed customer for THAR Crde.
