re: Review: 1st-gen Mahindra Thar (2011 - 2019)

Dear all, just excuse me for my above rant ,

I was more furious , actually this is only 10% of what I felt

But again Please excuse .

That attitude is quite disturbing & Quite Unacceptable . forget about customer just act as a basic human being , be a real professional . Even vendors on footpath treat their customers better .

One the other hand people like DB sir , Spike ,Vinod treat us more than friends , they are Quite helpful .

A person like DB sir patiently answers my silly questions , spends much time with me than I deserve . He is ready to share his knowledge . He comes to you man to man . treats you equally ( irrespective of his education ,experience, knowledge & post ) To him I am not even a prospective customer , but he still does it .

I remember when I first met spike , we had only interacted on BHP till then but he comes forward like an old friend , why ? only because we share the same passion . My visit to M&M Nasik plant was more of a BHP 'mini' meet .

M&M should take this very seriously , this does makes a difference .

Sudarshan

P.S. I respect the culture BHP wants to cultivate , If any of my words did harm the purpose they must be deleted .

But anyone really wants to know what I felt its on FB in RAW version > Sudarshan Vaidya

@Star: Ok spill it out - what in your view has failed.

I'm not willing to wait until i grow OLD!!

@Sudharshan - I can understand your feelings - All I can say is it takes time to change an organisation and the attitude of its people

The SCORPIO is the first example.

This vehicle has bilstein suspension and does not have Pete's box, all it might have is some Pete's sticker or it

Yes Peter is a friend of the owner, this is just marketing material according to sources. But yes 2 & 3 are indeed installed. This was clarified much earlier also

Well i did not find anything like that. i had a detailed look at harness for some of the sensors and actuators and even at the ECM. there was absolutely no tampering with the harness. it is easy to make out and the harness insulation job from mahindra looks pathetic and the insulation tape should tell if it was done by you or mahindra. anyways i found only the sticker of petes on it and a different shocks on the suspension. nothing else was there.
@vikram: it was suffering from inadequate presupply to the high pressure pump at full load.

So is it just a fuel pump issue? ^^ If so why is it so hard for M&M to diagnose the same, wont it show if a scanner is connected?

re: Review: 1st-gen Mahindra Thar (2011 - 2019)

I would like to look at this issue in a different view. See Pet's is a reputed brand, so I do't think its just a sticker on thar.May be they had put a turning box of scorpio in to thar (may be for test) and it got malfunctioned,or may be juiced up the CRDe.Now they may need warranty on the same so removed it neatly and blaming M&M.

I think M&M Engineers are not that bad to identify a fuel pump issue.

Issue was pointed out at delivery itself, if am not mistaken. So i dont think owner is that brave to experiment with an already mis-behaving system. Only thing they (M&M) told it would go away on its own or will attend to

Mentioned below from Star_Aqua's post.

Quote:
ok now coming back to the topic, a small background about this THAR. when this vehicle was bought, the owner was not feeling the power the THAR is supposed to deliver. after few days he had complained this to the Mahindra dealer. they had a look and don't know what really they diagnosed it and told the owner that it has some actuator problem and over a period of time it would become alright(i really don't know how). after few hundreds kms, it was still the same. then the owner had taken this issue directly with Mahindra and he had very poor response to his problem. after repeated request to mahindra, they had sent an engineer to diagnose the problem. this engineer couldn't find out the reason or he did not know how to diagnose the problem and the response the owner gets from the engineer is "Sir, what more can you expect for just 6lkh rs?" as if the owner was expecting it to deliver 300bhp or more.

Fuel breather was blocked, and due to the pressure built up, the fuel tank went inside. Which lead to inadequate fuel supply on high throttle input. M&M has taken the vehicle for observation for week.

Peter (pet's Owner) is close friend of Pramod, he take all his vehicles for up gradation (tuning box / suspensions / lights ect).
But for That, he specifically said NO for tuning box as it dint have any problem with power, after the initial problem was rectified.
Pet's would have done this for additional mileage.
This definitely was wrong.

OK, is it a Bosch unit or a Delphi Unit?

The Fuel pump is the heart of the system!

OT:
I'm afraid not!! I've had the authorized SA ask me once whether I ran the vehicle [Bolero STORM] without diesel and I asked him to teach me "that" trick!!
