Re: Volkswagen Vento : Test Drive & Review

I guess that is because the car was on idle, so the low and constant rpm would have resulted in the going for 85kmpl.

Can't be. The gear recommender shows 'hold on 5th'. 85km/l indeed seems strange.

Thats what I like about TBHP, guys get into details.

85km/l is real time fuel efficiency while driving down a flyover on delhi gurgaon expressway, with foot off the accelrator. Noticed it coupled of time & thought it will be a converstation starter at TBHP

Re: Volkswagen Vento : Test Drive & Review

I managed to test drive the Vento Diesel today. Have to admit, the instantaneous pickup & high torque really took me by surprise. Really great acceleration and handling for a car priced @ 10.XX OTR.

Only problem is, they didn't have the Highline variant for test drive at the Santacruz dealership in Mumbai, quite upset about that.

Anyone know if the Prabhadevi/Chembur dealerships have the Diesel Highline available for TD's?

Good to hear that. Do post some pics to start with. So what was the total waiting period in your case?

Re: Volkswagen Vento : Test Drive & Review

Guys,

What a fantastic news to start this week. Finally I got the call from my dealer (Ramani VW, CBE) and the car is allocated to me. Booked HL TDI on Dec 08, 2010 and color preference was "Shadow Blue". I was informed that the car will be delivered in another 10 days.

Saw the color in this thread and it is stunning. But my better half and my dad are so much attracted to White and Reflex silver. As I am not particular about the exterior color, I am planning to change the color. I called up my dealer and requested for color change. He said it might take couple of months more. But if the color is available he can allocate immediately. He said he will check the status and let me know. I am waiting for his call.

Thanks,
Giri

Re: Volkswagen Vento : Test Drive & Review

Looks as if a bunch of BHPians will be getting their Vento deliveries in the next week to 10 days. I got the news from my SR that my shadow blue is in transit and will arrive within a week.

Any shortlist on the needed accessories??? I heard from my SR that I can get the GPS/multimedia system present on the IPL edition in my car.

Re: Volkswagen Vento : Test Drive & Review

Congrats Giri! But are you sure you want to change the colour and wat even more? Shadow Blue is the most beautiful colour to be launched and yours would be the first on TBHP to boot!

Do show your wife and Dad the SB if your local showroom has it in stock (VW Pune does!) They will almost surely change their mind. I as waiting for terra beige but then when a white AT became available, took the wifey down and showed her the car for herself and she immediately fell in love! the rest as they say is history

Re: Volkswagen Vento : Test Drive & Review

Congrats, Giri and @classic86! IMO, Vento looks the best in Shadow Blue (I booked one last week), closely followed by White.

Also, good to hear about the audio system upgrade, @classic86. Would you mind sharing the quote given by the dealer for it?

Re: Volkswagen Vento : Test Drive & Review

Does the stock music system of Vento has any RCA Pre-outs?

If not, does this IPL audio system (jettas?) has RCA pre-outs? If so, how many?

Any information around this?

I will be heading to the dealer mostly tomorrow to finalize my accessories list. Will find this out by tomorrow or day after.

Thanks, I spoke to the Prabhadevi dealers, scheduled a TD of the TDI Highline for Thursday morning.

On a different note, congratulations on your Vento delivery. Eagerly awaiting your ownership thread. Doesn't matter how many pictures I see, it never gets old!

A painful 5 months, 20 days! One of the highest on this forum, I'm sure.

Btw here's my ownership thread with some pics!
