Re: Volkswagen Vento : Test Drive & Review

Came across a VW ad in the paper today advertising the Vento Special Edition. Only talks about the touch screen music system HU but does not mention about petrol or diesel. I just wonder why this was needed. A special edition car does not make sense when the car is selling so well. They should have rather incorporated the add-ons in atleast the Highline variants - in both Petrol & Diesel.

This is because the trendlines are not selling as well as the highlines. They have a temporary overstock of trendlines. So I think the IPL edition and Trendline 'Plus' edition cars will exist only for a couple of months, till they clear this stock.

I agree with you that in all this if VW can provide a decent 2DIN system with AUX/USB/BT in the Trendline Plus, why not make it available in the Highline too, at a nominal additional cost? Sure we wouldn't mind paying a few grand more!

Re: Volkswagen Vento : Test Drive & Review

Here is what you get in the trendline plus. Got this list from the dealer.
  • Integrated 2din music system (20305)
  • Parking sensor (3500)
  • Leatherette seat covers (7585)
  • Door steps (950)
  • Mud flaps (1365)
  • Textile mats (1685)
  • Labour charges (600)

All of this for 12000!

A decent music system and few more additional will be coming soon in the Highline models. They are currently reviewing and taking feedback from dealerships on the things that are missing or needed for the Highline Vento.

As of now they have shortlisted few:
1) Music system with AUX/USB/BT
2) Audio controls on steering
3) Leather seats
4) Locking mechanism
5) Tweaked front suspension

and new list of accessories.

Of course, the price will be increased but it would be great if they bring these things in reality.

If this happens in the next couple of months, it's great news indeed!

But taking advice from dealerships... I think they should get feedback from the customers. Most dealers have their own interests to care of! At least it looks that way from most BHPian's dealership experiences.

Re: Volkswagen Vento : Test Drive & Review

One of the sales reps at the Dealerships told me that VW has a model cycle of 2 years. Thus, the new variant will only be launched at the end of next year, to be delivered by the beginning of 2013.

So even if the new changes do come into play, it'll probably be a while before it hits the roads on the semi-vamped version(s).

He is right. Not just vw, no manufacturer makes changes for new models after a year, let alone before that. The only reason for Trendline plus, is because it does not sell much compared to highline and they need to clear the stock too.

Re: Volkswagen Vento : Test Drive & Review

I took the delivery of Shadow Blue Vento TDI yesterday(Monday), first Shadow Blue in TBHP.

My first driving experience was really good, I felt worth waiting for it.

Will soon start the ownership thread with pics from my T1i.

Awesome! Back to back Vento news, that too in the most rare colours amongst Ventos.

Waiting for the pics.

Congrats both you guys! Guess that leaves only the terra beige delivery on this forum

Also wanted to check, has anyone faced an issue in closing the boot once opened through driver door button? Do the doors have to be locked for it to close?

I have not faced any issues on the boot lock , it can be done whether the doors are locked or unlocked. BTW , the door lock is a new experience .. can be flicked open from the inside even when its "locked"

Was it from VW Palace Cross? I had asked the manager to tell me if there are any blue vento deliveries soon. I have booked the same colour and wanted to see it. He told me to come on Monday afternoon, but could not come because of a meeting. Nice to know it was you!

No issues with that. The boot can be closed even if the doors are open/closed. If that's not working, please check with the dealer.

Re: Volkswagen Vento : Test Drive & Review

@Naveen / Sourav - my driver faced this issue once. But seems to work fine since then. Will observe further before any action.

Also, returned the fibreglass mudguards today for a full refund. Used for a week but the only ones which are made for the Vento are way too tall and scrape even a medium seized bump. Even the holes given on the bumper are insufficient for snug fitting of the same.

Would request views from others who've had good/bad experiences with mudguards.
