Got to know that comfort-line variant is already in production for 2012.

It has the old music system ( the one in pre-refreshed Vento)
Body colored hang-on parts ( door handles and mirror housings)
Fog lamps but without chrome bits.
with driver side airbag.
without ABS. ( may be optional)
some other small changes.

Thanks, that means the Rapid Ambition is getting back to the Vento skin. But no ABS (or optional), and driver side airbag only! Strange ways of cost cutting.

Glad to see they are offering atleast a driver airbag, but hope they don't screw up by not offering the ABS. But then if they do, I wonder why one would opt for the Highline.

Will be interesting to see how they price it. My guess will be the 2011 HL price for the Comfortline.

Re: Volkswagen Vento : Test Drive & Review

Ventophiles it was earlier known that the engine oil provided by VW workshop people Castrol Magnatec Professional B4 5W-40 was semi-synthetic but it actually is fully synthetic. Link.

In the "Benefits For Your Customers" section it states "Professional fully-synthetic formulation for latest engine technologies". Please correct me if I'm wrong, so indeed engine oil provided by workshop is fully synthetic and so price asked Rs. 970 is fair then. What do fellow bhpians say?

Re: Volkswagen Vento : Test Drive & Review

Does anyone know where I can get a high-quality downloadable copy of the Vento's Owner's Manual?

Congrats danlalan ! This seems like a great buy, and nice color too... Actually there are very few petrol HL owners here on the forum. I too have booked one and expect to get it by March first week. Would be eagerly looking forward to your thread.

Lovely purchase Dan. With the current petrol prices, and considering that it ain't a Maruti or a Honda, it sure must have been a steal!

Would want to know all about it, but I guess we'll have to wait for your thread I suppose! Put it up fast, will ya!

Great. You'll be getting the one with steering mounted controls. I wanted those. Its such an ease to drive with.

Thanks amey.

Iam pretty kicked about this little 1.6 unit. I had a 1.6 Ikon earlier and it was fun to drive. You could handle corners pretty well. Good drive.
This compared to that is also on the same lines because of its tight body structure. And way way advanced. Ive stopped driving my civic as much and driving this more. Pretty exciting.
