Re: Hyundai i10 Kappa2 : Test Drive & Review

After nearly three years of owning, I found a pocket/recess in the backrest of the rear seat in i10. Wonder what is its use?. Is it to be used as a grip?

It's the pocket meant for the buckle of the centre lap-belt, when one wants to fold the seat forward.

Re: Hyundai i10 Kappa2 : Test Drive & Review

Hi Everyone need some help on a issue
I drive a Hyundai i10 irde2 Jan 2013 and it has come back after its 3rd service (this issue is present before the service itself)there is some rubbing grunt coming from the engine at 2000 to 3000 rpm

This is more pronounced in 1st and 2nd gears I gave it to the service guys today we went on a test drive and the service guy has also agreed to it but has no idea on what the problem was and told me he would call me back after they have identified the problem

I got a call back he said they need 2 to 3 days to identify it and is saying that it might be coming from the dashboard and all

please can someone shed some light on it is there any relation between the sound and dashboard

Got the car back from H.A.S.S after 3 days they have Identified the problem to be with the driveshaft

They said they have lubricated it and the sound is now gone
I dont understand how did this happen to a car that has done only 7K Kms

Re: Hyundai i10 Kappa2 : Test Drive & Review

Couple of issues i noticed recently on my 2010 i10 kappa2:

. On starting up the car, i remember all 4 doors, if shut, used to auto-lock earlier. I used to distinctly hear the buttons next to the inside door levers close with loud audible clicks. This is no longer happening - the driver side button remains in unlocked position and i have to manually close it, to lock all 4 doors from inside.

. Secondly, even when i manually close the driver side lock after the car is in motion, rear passengers are able to unlock the rear doors by manually pulling out the rear button to unlock position. i think earlier this was not possible, but i can't clearly remember.

Anyone facing/faced this issue in their i10s?

I had seen similar issue as #1, and it was traced to a malfunctioning sensor of the central locking system.

Its always possible to manually unlock the car even if it were to auto lock.

How much did it cost to fix it?

Re: Hyundai i10 Kappa2 : Test Drive & Review

After 3 three years of trouble free, 25K Km drive, I noticed some strange sound while driving uphill (yercaud) in 2nd gear. Bearing friction sound (or kind of) was coming every time I press accelerator. I was very much scared as I was in the mid of yercaud uphill drive and do not want to be stranded there during vacation. However there is absolutely no such sound while driving on flat roads and there was absolutely no problem during return journey to Bangalore. Let me know guys, if anyone also has faced similar issue.

Re: Hyundai i10 Kappa2 : Test Drive & Review

Has anyone tried fitting a center arm rest for the driver on a Hyundai i10? I found the attached on Groupon and the ad says that the arm rest can be fitted on Hyundai i10 (http://search.groupon.co.in/?q=arm%20rest)

Wanted to confirm before I place an order. I own a 2013 make i10 Era variant.

Yes. 1.2 Kappa 2 has been discontinued and only 1.1 variants are available.

That right away just killed any enthusiasm for the i20

Considering the rip-off that is the hyundai authorised after sale service, I'm never going to buy another hyundai, no matter how brilliant the package. And Anyone who is smitten by the new car needs to factor in the ugly side of a hyundai ownership.
Break-up please on the service cost you have quoted. I guess 55K is not a major service milestone, right?

The only diesel car in that segment which has low service cost is from Toyota, period.

It's not back from servicing yet. The SA repeatedly told me 55k is a major service.

I'm getting the clutch plate (cost quoted: Rs 8,000) and dickey hinges (Rs 1,200) changed apart from the normal servicing.
